  1. I remember reading that this had a sample of a Sybil track on it. So is she the vocalist on this track, or was there a different part of the track that was sampled?
  2. I’m guessing with how many songs left there are 4 resets. All Justin Bieber (including 1 feature?) or Sabrina as well?
  3. I always freeze after you enter.
  4. Fleetwood Mac yo-yo-ing again! So weird. It’s almost as if the songs on Rumours didn’t have all of their streams counted on Tuesday but had them counted extra on Wednesday instead! Notice it’s just the 3 songs experiencing this pattern - not Landslide or Everywhere.
  5. Songs have moved in the past 24 hours - so I assume it is updating. Just nothing new seems to be happening. I’m more concerned at how there seems to be nothing new on iTunes - no sign of Olivia Rodrigo - and Jessie Ware only currently 18 in the albums… Edit: unless it froze after Jessie entered.

Almost identical to Jack over the past 48 hours! Deluxe digital from his store with bonus tracks. A push on signed prints from Amazon. And a push on buying tickets for his forthcoming intimate gig bunched with CDs.

I haven’t spotted this apparent huge boost anywhere. Their songs are mostly below where they were last week, but re-entered after the songs from Rumours strangely dropping out for a day. Definitely no reset for them.

I guess now the singles chart is very focused on songs rather than ‘singles’. People don’t generally buy physical products because they like this song, but because they are a fan of the artist, so releasing multiple products manipulates the chart away from what is popular. So even though there are issues with streaming, at least streaming reflects the popularity of a song far more than the sales of physical products. However, on the album chart, it could be argued that, sales of an album reflect its popularity on a par with the streams of individual tracks - and allowing multiple formats gives opportunities to those artists who aren’t able to gain the streams sufficient to chart. But anyway, in recent years the albums chart has reflected sales more than the singles chart.

Very close from 3-6 in the singles I would imagine! I’d love for Alex to stay on in the top 3 - and Sombr to stay top 5 as well - maybe even 4. Sad that Jack Savoretti probably won’t be number 1 - but I feel his last few albums have lost him some fans (even if two of them got to number 1).

Written In Scars is definitely one of my favourites. I lost my love of ‘Music’s Too Sad…’ pretty quickly. Both artists have much better ballads.

I had always understood that it was the first three variants to be released, and that for variants released at the same time, the record company would choose. But, I don’t know where I got that from, so it’s probably wrong.

Last Christmas was the song that I thought of. It has been re-released a couple of times in the past decade, so initially I didn’t think all of the new variants would count - but they did. Older variants were clearly excluded.

    Catapult too. And many others.
  14. I agree. But I don’t think many people will have two hits that big either.

Check it out ⬆️ He told us he was about to do something that he had never done on stage before - and even though I was several rows back, he clearly heard my whispered response 🤣 ‘I’m not taking my clothes off by the way, I heard that. Let’s not get carried away, come on this is civilised!’ It was followed by laughter, cheers and whistles. 🤣 And it is now immortalised on Spotify.
  16. Naive me always assumed that these were different bands. I always thought of Incognito as newcomers in the 1990s.

It does surprise me that a lot of people haven’t heard of Jack Savoretti. But I guess it’s partly due to lack of success in the singles chart. His 3 albums between 2015 and 2019 were pretty big - they (well the first two of them) are some of my favourite albums of all time, they hung around the chart for a while, and he was all over TV, selling out arenas. In fact the reissue of one of his albums included a conversation he had with me at his Wembley Arena show. It was awkward 🤦🏼‍♂️ (feel free to ask me about it). Later I got him to sign a CD for me with the comment that he made to me 🤣 But I feel he lost his way in reverting to ballads, and as a result, lost many fans.

New peak for Dracula. Dominic Fike will probably be number 3 as it is soooo close. Just 1 sale.

I’m actually loving how well ‘Rein Me In’ is doing - even though it’s not a song I would choose to listen to. Partly because it’s great to see a song being a massive hit - but also I enjoy seeing the comments from people getting annoyed about it. #sorrynotsorry

Love Fever Dream - including the vocals. Yes, I didn’t really get ‘Ordinary’ but I love most of Alex Warren’s releases.
  21. It may have been noted before – I haven’t read all of the comments - but I’m assuming that Santana hold the record for reaching the top 10 with a new recording.

Two questions: ‘The Chain’ - 6 platinum. Now that it has made the top 75, does it still hold any records? Måneskin - 2 platinum Have any post 1990 Eurovision artists had a double platinum single, and if so, have any been by non-British artists, have any been by songs that weren’t their Eurovision song, and have any been songs released after they completed the Eurovision? I used to collect all of this information about Eurovision, but I have been a bit lax recently.
  23. Amazing that Fleetwood Mac have 3 of the week’s top 50 biggest songs - but none of them is their current top 40 hit.
  24. This could be interesting – and we won’t know for several weeks how much of this is accurate. For example, Landslide had a significant decline on Spotify (despite a few good days) so could well have declined more than market, despite climbing more than 4 places.
  25. No new mixes dropped then? 🤷🏻‍♂️
