  1. We know the album debuted at #10 in Ireland and it's also gone in at #64 in the Netherlands where their album chartings look like this: Netherlands Greatest Hits: 1 (3 weeks) 1996 25 weeks PL Nobody Else: 1 (1 week) 1995 20 weeks G Everything Changes: 3 1993 52 weeks PL Progress: 4 2010 27 weeks PL Take That & Party: 21 1994 (year charted) 11 weeks Beautiful World: 33 2006 18 weeks III: 64 2014 The Circus: 68 2008 2 weeks What this shows is that in Holland they clearly prefer Take That as a 5 with Robbie.
  2. Am disappointed the album is doing so poorly in Europe first week charts in from some countries and it hasn't charted. However 4 years away and down to 3 i'm not surprised. If the European tour is in Sep/Oct next year don't think it would help sales and chart position of the album that far away. Good though that they are going to Europe for the fans there. The fact is the album is slipping in the UK also and I've seen bad reviews from critics who mention the tax thing. Yes they have a #1 single and possibly though not yet guaranteed a #1 album in the UK but the damage has definitely been done. It seems they have lost their casual fans after the first day big sales only 10,000 were sold the next day don't know the other days. I like the album but think they really need to think about single choices and which would really capture the general public.
  3. Gary said in The Sun in 2017 they wanted to reunite for 25 years or something and also that they'd like to put out a compilation with a mix of 90's and newer songs. Do you guys think that would be better than a standard greatest hits 2 which would show their reformed material? I suppose a combo one would be more fitting for a 25th reunion. I hope they do UK top 10's because that would be 20 although also add Kidz and Love Love on it as well which would be 22 songs plus maybe future singles. I wonder if they'd cut some of their top tens though wouldn't have to leave out the ones that went #1 i'd guess.
  4. Ok so apparently Robbie is releasing an album and going head to head with Take That this Monday? edit: It seems Robbie's album can only be bought off his website and won't make the charts.
  5. Oh that's good a USA release finally. Where did you learn that? Currently despite earlier this month the new albums being released it's still old songs that are the most popular on US iTunes. The top ten is: 1.)Back For Good (top 3 followed by) 2.)How Deep Is Your Love 3.)When We Were Young 4.)Never Forget 5.)Relight My Fire 6.)A Million Love Songs 7.)Could It Be Magic 8.)Pray 9.)Rule The World (live) (Studio single release not available) 10.)Love Ain't Here Anymore Post 2005 Top 5 USA iTunes are: 1.)When We Were Young 2.)Rule The World (live) 3.)Patience 4.)The Flood 5.)Greatest Day Album wise: 1.)Never Forget: Ultimate Collection 2.)Greatest Day (Live) 3.)Progressed 4.)The Circus 5.)Progress (Live) I really think they'll need to promote in Europe at least for this record as 4 years is a long time, even more so for an older pop band. The Circus wasn't promoted and that didn't do great outside the UK/Ireland.
  6. Not sure which thread to put this in but Take That's albums have FINALLY gone onto USA iTunes so better late than never. However the only thing missing is the Rule The World single. Perhaps with more requests that'll come onto the store. Now the US fans won't have to import constantly. Hopefully this means the new album will get a digital release there also!
  7. If they were able to get a #1 with the single would they be the first in the UK to get one as a 5, 4 and 3? Their competition seems to be McBusted Air Guitar don't know about other single releases on 23rd. They haven't learnt though about promo to release still. 6 weeks is a long time for a lead single from first airplay and by time of release most could be itching for something new but we'll see.
  8. I think the reason so many are saying they should go out on top is having seen other groups such as Backstreet Boys and Westlife slowly have a tragic decline to irrelevance and halving album by album sales. The vast majority of the public saying it's done and getting frustrated/annoyed at a group continuing past their time and turning to irritation. However in this case we'll see what happens with the new album however it is the three notorious members now. Yes i'll probably get the new album as all the others have been quality however with Jason in the band I wouldn't have felt so bad as he was a moral voice of reason and represented the down to earth non egotistical element to the band.
  9. It s a shame but I ve thought for awhile with momentum perhaps this album should be their last and now prove they can do it as a three. Then the greatest hits vol 2 whilst they are still on top like first time around.
  10. Interesting what Nigel Martin Smith has to say http://www.unrealitytv.co.uk/showbiz/nigel...-tax-avoidance/ If this is the case why on earth hasn't Gary just said he's paid this off straight away? I think their current manager is to blame mainly possibly as well as themselves. I mean Nigel clearly must have looked out for them when he was manager. I think when they came back Mark and Jonathan have had a lot of power over the group hence the many Mark leads and The Circus being Mark heavy.
  11. I agree this silence is ridiculous and this is something that unlike many other things simply won't go away. Maybe a press conference would be good but could also draw out the negativity and would be played forever but I just hope all four are using these days worth of silence to do everything to pay back what they owe and quickly show/announce that this has been done. I'm still a fan of their music as I can take that as a separate entity however it really is greedy they are multi millionaires and that has to show a sign of individual character. Robbie I assume earns the most and at a guess Jason probably the least and neither have gone for this which is at least something and tells you a lot. It's just confusing why Gary and perhaps the manager would go for this although they all share the royalties 2nd time round so none are in dire straits. I can see potentially why Mark/Howard might as perhaps they lost it all after the first time round. Yes Gary has done a lot for charity but that now unfortunately is being used to show him as a hypocrite which along with his bigger profile is why he's carrying the story and with doing charity why would you not pay tax to give back to the community/public services i.e hospitals which is where a portion goes. Also bond bug mentioned this is as bad as the Robbie v Gary press but that was a trivial pop duel this is much worse however as potentially indirectly affects people's lives and why it's front page and international as US Billboard have just ran a story on it. I know this may come across as a bashing but like you guys as a fan considering their success it's just baffling. I want this all over with just as much as you guys but the story broke 5 days ago.
  12. No Gary wasn't at The Brits. Face To Face is currently #178 on Austrian I tunes and #252 on German I tunes so hopefully it'll grow but don't think it'll chart.
  13. Let Me Go is currently #40 on German iTunes and #135 on Austrian itunes. Hopefully it's go higher and have a ripple effect on border countries in mainland Europe.
  14. The album is currently at #9 in Germany,#13 in Austria and #174 in Switzerland on their iTunes. A top ten album in any country would be fantastic. He's right to promote as only a handful can drop an album with no promotion and expect it to go top 10 internationally. Do we know any other countries Gary is going to promote?
  15. I agree Requiem would be a good third single, possibly 6th Avenue or We Like to Love could be good also.
  16. Has Let Me Go been released yet in other countries? I know it's doing well in the UK and Ireland.
  17. Howard says in Take That Take One that his favourite 5 TT songs are 'Never Forget', 'Back For Good', 'Patience', 'Rule the World' and 'A Million Love Songs'. This was before the Progress album so don't know if his opinion has changed.
  18. Hi I thought it might be good to do a topic on what TT fans would like to see coming up from the band in the future and aside from the obvious a new studio album!! The list can have even trivial things on it such as 'TT get a UK Christmas #1 etc'. Mine would be in no particular order: - Jason on a lead/partial lead single. All the other four have a singles track to them and Jason has shown he does well on acoustic folk type tracks surely one could be good enough as a single. He's arguably alongside Gary and Robbie the fans favourite member possibly. - TT get a UK Christmas #1. I know this is a trivial one but it would still be another minor achievement and they could easily come up with a Christmas track that stands some test of time i'd imagine. - Release Greatest Hits Vol 2. This of course doesn't spell the end but they have come a long way since BW and to me it just feels right to have put out Vol 2 whilst they are still in their reunion prime including Europe after Progress. 4 years is a long time to wait for a new album in music and for most is an entire career. - Release their post 2005 albums onto US ITunes and any new ones in the future. In a lot of American polls and shows like Billboard and e! channel '15 most awesomest boybands' etc TT are ranked high amazingly despite the fact it's so hard to get their music in the States so clearly there is a demand. With the Olympics and the band being shown on NBC singing 'Rule the World' twitter users from the States were reminiscing about 'Back For Good' which went top 10 there and commenting how great RTW is. It's not the 90's anymore and the US charts aren't so rigid and closed off to foreign artists as they were when TT were first out. An album could be a slow burner and do surprisingly well. I don't understand why their reunion albums aren't on there if they don't sell a lot in the US surely the fact they sell 4-5 million worldwide means it isn't such a risk to put them on US iTunes. Backstreet Boys and NSYNC have made many references to TT about being inspired by them/seeing how massive across Europe they were when both bands came over in 1995. Even BSB new 5 man album has been inspired by TT and I think that alongside their huge popularity in the UK and British NKOTB tag has made them well known in the US to a certain extent. Those are just a few off the top of head will be interesting to see what others think!
  19. The duet with Agnetha from Abba might be released as a single apparently it's the second most downloaded track after the lead single from across iTunes. However if it were released don't think a lot of promotion would be put behind it as she doesn't enjoy singing live these days.
  20. It was quite funny at the time though that Robbie released a song called 'Strong' then Gary released 'Stronger'!!
  21. It's a shame really if new material isn't coming until 2014 as they were recently paid homage/spoofed in the Wanted's new music video 'Walks Like Rihanna' and so a new album this year could have tied in well for them. In North America/places worldwide unfamiliar with TT they are getting talked about loads because of that Wanted video as programs run the clip. Of course Stateside they talk more of the Backstreet Boys/NSYNC homages but that's understandable, at least TT are getting namechecked. So it seems on that front it's an oppourtunity missed. On twitter/ you tube TT music videos a lot of people previously unaware of them are really likeing the music which is a positive. It's been three years already so I hope they don't lose momentum or it turns into a distance thing where the years go by and more commitments to other things mean leading to a split, but who knows. I hope Mark does well I really like Stars.
  22. nirvanamusic posted a post in a topic in UK Charts
Wheatus had a top ten follow up to Teenage Dirtbag, a cover of A Little Respect. However they are still refered to as one hit wonders here.
  23. I think a greatest hits album after the next studio album would be perfect and also cap off the 2nd era whilst interest and popularity in them is still high. I think TT (90's) and TT (00's) are so seperate it might be great Vol 2 being 06 to present. I'm sure in future there will will many compilations TT will sell and sell. The Best Of would mix the whole set through the years. After the greatest hits vol 2 they can then think about where they'd like to go next. I hope Robbie is on the next studio album just because of how great (imo) it was but also because Progress sold really well for TT across Europe and they could build on that. I was also just wondering about RTW and sales it must definately be closing in on 900,000 now surely? Has Progress UK album sales moved up from 2.4 also?
  24. If that's what happens then that'll be amazing a second to last ranking with an iconic moment like the flame would be amazing.
  25. I think that's true but there were other big chart topping boybands like Blue,Busted and McFly who were around before TT came back. I think when Busted came along late 2002 - early 2005 WL only achieved 1 #1 compared to Busted's 4 and then McFly mid 2004 onwards they only achieved a further 2 #1 compared to McFly's 7 so i think both these groups hampened their chart topping/fanbase also. I think the change in style of boyband to these guitar groups also stamped out briefly the old singing/dancing template and TT coming back was the final straw for them i think. The amazing thing from Westlife was that first year when they racked up 7 #1's half their final total. The year 2000 had the most #1's ever and this definately benefitted them.
