The general public/casual listener has never taken to them as a three piece, both visually and musically. That is a quite common theme I have noticed through comments from non-fans, as well as the tax scandal being mentioned. Still. Robbie is a superstar and Jason was arguably their most popular member as a four piece, or at least second behind Gary. Those are tough holes to fill. Jason was the most down to earth, relatable, and honest of the four. He was also the only one not greedy and involved in the scandal. These three members were. Jason left soon after, coincidence? Who knew Jason was such a secret weapon of popularity. Then again success is a myraid of combinations, not all musical. Their reputation was built as honest, working class lads, Gary excluded, who worked hard from nothing going from 'Do What U Like' to 'Back For Good'. Nowhere to the biggest global pop single of 1995 worldwide, all the while remaining relatable and likeable, including through their initial '00's comeback reunion. For many the story arc closed with a natural conclusion when Robbie returned for the triumphant 'Progress'. The prodigal son had returned to a critical and commercial success. They will always be able to tour, however, because of the catalogue they produced.

Which would have been a great fourth single? I think with two upbeat and a ballad previously released. I would have loved 'The Day After Tomorrow' released in Christmas, 1995. However, 'Sunday to Saturday', 'Nobody Else' or 'Holding Back The Tears' would also have been good singles for this album.It would have helped the album gain more publicity, as 'Never Forget' had been released in the summer. They could then still have released 'How Deep Is Your Love' the following April as part of the 'Greatest Hits' album. Greatest Hits (1996) has finally crossed the sales threshold and was today certified 4x Platinum: 1.2 million sales. Hopefully some of their other 90s output will creep over into higher sales certs.

#7 in its second week and a current UK total of £1,132,647.

So the first critic reviews are in: Digital Spy: 4/5. HeyUGuys: 4/5. Screen Daily: Positive. Total Film: 4/5. Empire: 2/5. There are 15 songs featured in the film of which 11 have been listed: A Million Love Songs, Babe, Back For Good, Could It Be Magic, Everything Changes, Greatest Day, Never Forget, Patience, Pray, Rule The World and Shine. Will be interesting to see which other four songs are in. The Flood I assume would be one of them, though maybe doesn't fit.

I think being the third version of the song was perhaps a step too far. I would have loved an original song to tie in with the movie.

Hopefully the exposure over time will help 'Greatest Day', 'Shine' and 'Never Forget' to Double Platinum status (1.2 million copies sold) in the UK. I would love their 90s output (singles/albums) to grow higher in certs. I appreciate they were succesful and high sales for the time period/population, but some just seem so low for their ongoing status. What I feel the songs should be based on continued public presence etc: 'A Million Love Songs' - Platinum (600,000) currently Silver (200,000) What! This is the biggest stand out for me based on all the times it was performed on X Factor over the years and has remained as a vital Take That song. Robbie himself said that it was the quality song where he knew that the group would be alright. 'Could It Be Magic' - Gold (400,000) currently Silver. 'Pray' - I feel this has to go at least Platinum as opposed to Gold as it is such an iconic title for Take That, first era. 'Relight My Fire' - Only Silver (!) Not only should this song be Gold certifed minimum but I would say Platinum as it is still a radio favourite. 'Everything Changes' - Silver but should be Gold minimum in my opinion. 'Love Ain't Here Anymore' - Silver but I feel should be Gold. Profile is so low, however, is generally viewed as a flop having broken their #1 streak. An under-rated gem. 'Said It All' - Silver but would like it to go higher as feel it is very under-rated and unknown by the public. Unfortunately it peaked the week of all the Michael Jackson re-entries in 2009 and thus didn't get the radio play and audience it deserved. Though was still a top 10 placing. 'Kidz' - Should at least be Silver in my opinion but when an album sells so well it is naturally harder for the singles following a lead off. Album wise: 'Take That & Party' it would be nice to go from 3x (900,000) to 4x (1.2 million sales) however I'm not sure that will happen. The album is, let's say, patchy. In my opinion at least. 'Nobody Else' - This album really deserves more than 2x Platinum (600,000) however as a critic noted they killed its sales dead in the water due to their split and 'Greatest Hits' album release. What do you guys think in your perception what do you think the UK certs should be for certain releases? Hopefully their film and Robbie's film/Netflix documentary (TT are in it unless cut by directors) will help also.

UK Top 40 would be the best outcome, hopefully. However, like all older acts within the singles charts, it gets harder and harder. The obvious comparison is Westlife who reached #66 in the UK with their lead off single, 18 months ago.

I know 'Greatest Hits' are seemingly a thing of the past, which is why we got 'Odyssey' with remixes. However, seeing 'Never Forget: The Ultimate Collection' doing well post coronation, I do feel they have missed a trick not putting out a 'Greatest Hits: Vol 2' for people to stream. It would also be good in light of the film: 'Greatest Days' coming out. Look at Queen, Elton and Abba's greatest hits continuing to do well by streaming, and non remixes. 'Greatest Day '23' was good but 'Shine' and 'Never Forget' really got the crowd going. I like the fact they chose three songs in which they all have lead, showing the difference between Take That and many other boybands. It's just a shame during their career Jason never got his lead single with 'Wooden Boat', liked by both audiences and critics. The reality for Take That is the three have to keep the band together as to wait for Jason and especially Robbie could be an NSYNC situation: indefinite. By which time they could have majorly lost their fanbase, which I believe would be harder to get back now. The Backstreet Boys had some flop singles/albums (compared to their normal placings) for years as a four piece, but because they kept going the member returned and they eventually began an upturn.

What would people like the group to sing? For me, in no particular order, I think: Greatest Day ('23 remix) Shine Rule the World Giants These Days. It would be great if four appear, AMAZING if all 5. However, Robbie is doing a solo concert at Royal Sandringham.

I like it more than the original, which takes far too long to get going in my opinion. Aside from the coronation concert, I hope this version is promoted properly as it has the potential to do well over the summer. Also, the itunes charts are no longer a true indicator of whether a song will do well in the national charts. Songs have been in the top ten all week there but not made the official Top 100.

So the film is going to have 16 Take That songs and some new material apparently. Do we think that is the music they are working on or an album?

Personally I wish they toured more like Robbie, in the sense of choosing new countries to play shows. At the moment the two foreign shows for 2023 are Denmark and Finland. I'm glad they are performing in Finland again as their last show there was in 1994. I'm going to write the countries Robbie has performed concerts in below, just to show the extra places he has performed. The film is also being shot in London and Greece I read, but can't find that article at the moment. I hope the original song they do for this is great. Will the original song be TT3 or plus Robbie?

There was Nobody Else: The Movie which was that tour and a few bits shot back at their hotel afterwards. I want to know what is going on with 'Greatest Days'. Is that real?

They need to look into the Rule The World video as it is only 1.44 long and doesn't have any stardust clips. A full length video with or without the film clips would be fine, and have views around The Flood and Patience mark, I believe.
