Hey James! Now that the Steps domination has died down, it's helped Galantis recover a bit. Little Mix may get the number 1 next week unless ABBA replace themselves with Just A Notion as I'll be playing it from midnight tonight without a doubt. Who needs sleep? Slightest Touch may reenter with the release of the remixes, and I'm really enjoying the Coldplay album so, one or two tracks may join My Universe in the next few weeks before the inevitable Voyage takeover. Ed was interviewed in Holland and he told the host there that elton rang him on Christmas day and asked him to record a new Christmas song but, he didn't say if it would be on the album or not.

Hey! I think ABBA may hold on to number 1 for a while now with one song or another from Voyage to be honest. Then again with all the remixes from WTFH released this week there might be an upset for a week or 2 in between. Yes, I've heard the album and think it's soooooooo much better than Part 1. I even like Take Me For A Ride much more with the album version being out. Not sure why but it sounds so much better now. I bought the splatter vinyl and 2-CD edition after they were reduced as I'd originally cancelled my order after initially being disappointed with TMFAR as well as Part 1 being a bit unremarkable. I then ended up downloading the extended editions last night so I ended up adding 4 sales to their impending #2 position lol. (I also bought 1 copy of the Manics album though...) Not a big fan of Camila generally but, I paid attention to this song after The Honest Vocal Coach slated her voice on it because I thought her opinions were a bit ill-thought out. It was a shame because I generally like Georgina and have interviewed her twice before as well. Thanks for commenting as ever!

Furthermore, it is the fastest song on record to be streamed 28 times in less than a week since Tim's Top 10/20 began in 2001, managing it in less than 6 days. I expected I Still Have Faith In You to be the highest new entry of the week, but, it was its joint release Don't Shut Me Down which grew more on me as the week went on. Fellow Swedes Galantis only drop 1 place after all, partially helped by the release of a billion remixes. Little Mix have the first track on the chart with over 20 weeks on the list since Kesha's "Woman" back in 2017/18. However, she managed it when the chart was just a top 10, so Sweet Melody still has some way to go to match those sort of levels.

I think ABBA will have massive week 1 sales to hit number 1, but I think Ed will reclaim it after a week or 2. If Adele does release an album at the start of November as well I'll throw my toys out of the pram, but it might make for some interesting top 3s for the rest of 2021...

Ed will have been number 1 for a week. ABBA's Voyage website was crashing on and off for over 12 hours with preorders. Will Ed give way to ABBA for a few weeks before claiming the Christmas number 1 perhaps?
