  1. Got the album on Saturday (I pre-ordered it), and I LOVE IT. One of my favourite albums of all time, Charlie's vocals are so good, and the lyrics are really well written. The songs all could be singles (apart from the instrumental introduction, obviously) and basically it's amazing. I've not listened to it too many times yet, but I'm cautious of overplaying it and growing sick of the songs.

Yeah, it'll probably end up lower than #8, but without a hit single, after being away for two years not many people other than their fans/people who follow the charts would even know they are back. So I'm not surprised myself, it's a shame, but hopefully their next single does well and boosts the album (not holding my breath though).

Their last album peaked at #8 and that had L.I.F.E.G.O.E.S.O.N. which was a top 20 hit from it, they haven't had a hit single from this album. Their album before that (which similarly didn't have a hit single) peaked at #16! It's an amazing album anyway, love Noah and the Whale so much!
  4. 22 at 22! So glad that happened!

  6. One of my favourite songs of 2013, a great start to the chart! Didn't expect it to spend a second week in the top 40!
  7. This grows on me more each time I hear it - so glad it's entered the top 40! Glad to see It's Time in as well, great start to the chart!
  8. Love There Will Come A Time, it's my new favourite song of 2013, I'm glad they've stuck with their sound from Last Night of Earth! So good!
  9. I got into Paramore recently after listening to "Now", so far I've got their album Riot! and the single Now, I'm definitely going to check out more of their stuff, great band!

Surprised to see Alex Day charting seeing as he said it was too cheap and would be disqualified, but good none the less. Probably won't stay top 40 for Sunday though.
  11. It's #1. Sorry to bring the news.
  12. OK, so I've got my copy, and I have to say it's a good album, maybe his best! He's really progressed as an artist since his debut in 2009! Here's how I'd rank the songs (I'm not including Poison as it's not his song, just produced by him, though I do quite like it): GREAT: 1. Good Morning Sunshine 2. Forever Yours 3. Here Comes Trouble 4. I've Got What It Takes 5. Wannabe A Star 6. Lady Godiva 7. This Kiss (feat. Carrie Hope Fletcher) GOOD: 8. Oh No, I'm In Love :( 9. The Time of Your Life 10. Jack and Coke 11. She Walks Right Through Me 12. Losing A Future 13. Stupid Stupid 14. Holding On MEH: 15. Don't Let The World Turn Past Me 16. Across the Sea (feat. Tom Milsom) 17. Bread SHOULDN'T HAVE BEEN ON THE ALBUM: 18. Across the Sea (feat. Bryarly Bishop) - it's not even studio produced, it's just the audio ripped from a video when he did an acoustic cover. Because of this it sounds very out of place among the rest of the songs.

Alex Day up to #8! Shame it's ineligible to chart officially due to the amazingly cheap price, I wonder if we'll find out how many it sold next Sunday?

  15. Albums: Bastille - Bad Blood (will get it from Sainsbury's on Friday, if it's not there then order it from Amazon I guess, my HMV is sadly closing so they probably won't be getting new stock in) Singles: Paramore - Now (never bought a Paramore song/album before but it's been in my head all day, so good!)

So glad to see Haim's new single added, amazing song - it's Grimmy's Big Thing this week so not surprised about it though.
  17. It's up for pre-order now for a 17th March release and contains 20 tracks, including his top 40 singles Forever Yours, Lady Godiva and Stupid Stupid. I already have nearly half the album as singles but he's made it so cheap (£3.99 on iTunes) that it's going to be considerably cheaper to download the whole thing rather than just the new tracks. In fact, it's even too cheap to chart in the UK! Video announcing the album = http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_OyKd9h-77s

These are songs I always thought were #1's, before I started listening to the chart. Sort of the opposite of forgotten number #1's - remembered songs that never got there! Calvin Harris - The Girls (peak #3) - I think it was used on Doctor Who Confidential once which explains why I knew it Ellie Goulding - Your Song (peak #2) - I remember this being really popular amongst people at school, but I never really liked it, I like Ellie's other stuff though. Mike Posner - Cooler Than Me (peak #5) - used to hear this so much on the radio Gym Class Heroes feat. Adam Levine - Stereo Hearts (peak #3) - I listened to it recently, and I was shocked that it was so familiar, I assumed it must have been a #1! Maroon 5 feat. Christina Aguilera - Moves Like Jagger (peak #2) - unsurprising really, it's probably one of the biggest hit songs not to get there of all time. In the future I reckon people will assume that Taylor Swift - We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together got to #1, though I was into the charts at that point. Same goes with Bruno Mars - Locked Out Of Heaven, whenever I listen to Capital (rarely), I always hear that. Anyone else got any songs that they used to think were #1's, but weren't?
  20. Alex Day has announced his third album, Epigrams and Interludes, will be released on 17th March. http://alexdaymusic.com/post/42749424263/musicalproject
  21. Macklemore & Ryan Lewis are the highest charting unsigned artist(s) now (#2 with Thrift Shop) - it previously was Alex Day (#4 with Forever Yours). We've sadly never had an unsigned artist at #1, I'm glad that it looks to happen this week with a great song too!
  22. Not sure, it does look quite basic for an official cover, but it appears on the page when you pre-order the album from their site, and it's the band's Twitter picture now.

What do you guys think the chances are of Taylor ending up top 5 tomorrow instead of the other trouble-related hit by Olly Murs?
