  1. That was fast. A year and 6 days after short n sweet
  2. Sabrina just teased something new so win or lose we might be back to Alex vs Sabrina soon
  3. Sabrina is espresso though. Until she releases Guinness, the pubs might be out of reach
  4. You'd think if they were that close, OCC would be putting an article up saying it is, cause close battles are exciting But out of curiosity for everyone here, what gap do y'all think would be comfortable for each song? Like at what number would make you say "I'm calling it, Manchild has it" and what number would make you say "I'm calling it, Ordinary has it"?
  5. Team sabrina just started promoting manchild for the UK really for the first time. I think they mightve gotten today's numbers showing it'll be close (though last time they did this was for the final weeks of Taste where the first look article would say like "Taste is only ahead by 1000 units" when we knew it meant she was only going to gain through the week)
  6. 42k lead for manchild on Spotify
  7. What? The comment I was directing that at said that it was amusing she had stans after "flopping endlessly". Nobody was even talking about her release formula.
  8. Yeah I hate this current climate of discourse where anyone who doesn't immediately go big is mocked. As cool as it is to see people like Olivia and Billie be teenagers on top of the world, I think it's also really cool to see people who work hard for years to build themselves up into success. I find it admirable to continue to push yourself even when the dream is farther away. Anyone who thinks that is mockworthy, I think it says more about them than it does about the artist. And Sabrina in particular I think is a weird person for this conversation because she was trapped in a terrible contract she signed when she was 12 for 4 albums with a label built around music for children that refused to let her make anything that could appeal to adults. When she was actually able to negotiate a proper contract with creative control with a serious label, it took her 2 albums to become a global superstar.
  9. Sorry, I wasn't clear. he also tweeted at the same time about how people on Twitter were being hostile, mentioning sabrina by name. Didnt tell anyone not to send hate Sabrina's way while she's getting far worse tweets with way more likes. Made sure to do just enough to get sympathy for himself while making Sabrina's fans look bad
  10. I wouldnt normally say it. Plenty of people I don't like do good things, and plenty of people I like do terrible things, i'm just saying this is a tried and true method to gain sympathy in a close chart battle against a pop star. They play off the stereotype that pop stars and their fans are crazy chart obsessed and meanwhile claim they dont care so that neutrals choose to support them to send some kind of message. Travis Scott also did it, while he was pumping out a half dozen variants. I mean isnt it convenient he chose not to say anything when Sabrina on day 1 looked like she might blow him out of the water or day 2 when she looked like she might decline in a major way and not be a threat, but on day 3 when the streams stabilized and it was revealed that they were within a couple chart points of each other in the US
  11. Lol nah, its a tactic to get people to think hes being the nice guy who is unfairly treated so theyll support him. Playboi carti did the exact same thing to hold off Ariana and Selena in the US.
  12. You love to see it
  13. Taste's video would've been hard to top without a major actress like Jenna Ortega, so i think this is pretty solid numbers. Faster than espresso or pleasex3
  14. The good news for you is that there's a license plate in the music video that says "1d704a6" and someone speculated that it means the next single is coming july 4thc(704) and it's a continuation of short n sweet (her 6th album, a6). Idk what 1d would mean, maybe just that it'll be produced by Julian Bunetta and John Ryan (who did a lot of one direction production and also Taste for Sabrina), who knows? But I think the first two make a lot of sense because she likes to release new songs before festivals. This weekend is Primavera sound, for example. She headlines BST Hyde park on july 5th-6th. Anyway so if these festival releases are a continuation of short n sweet, sc7 might have a new sound
  15. The video for this is insane in the best way possible Idk how to embed videos but yeah
  16. EmailsICantChase posted a post in a topic in UK Charts
Looks really strong from little bits of numbers we've seen so far but its so hard for me to say anything will do 70k+ without seeing more so I'll say 50-60 and #2
  17. I like the song personally, took a few listens but I got there. Catchy chorus, catchy bridge. Some pretty good insults in there which is always fun
  18. Negative press is usually only a good thing. Most major artists have a ton of negative press. In fact, I'd argue the only way Katy Perry is unique in this regard is that her negative press comes after 8 years of not being relevant. Typically, the bigger you are, the more controversial you are and the more willing people are to blow the tiniest issue up to find reasons to hate you. Even when the controversy is warranted, it doesnt hurt you. Look at Chris Brown, he's still capable of selling out stadiums and he's had way worse controversy and press than Katy Perry. People still like his music, so he remains incredibly successful. Kanye had a successful album and a top 5 hit last year.
  19. Fully agree. The person I always point at is Katy Perry during her 143 era. She had all the backing and promotion that anyone else had, she had playlist support, she had big advertising. She made big viral moments. And it fell flat because ultimately nobody wanted the music. You cant make the public listen to anybody
  20. Thats very possible, plus bst hyde park is right around the corner so if she does go below it'll be only a few weeks
  21. I think we're gonna see Sabrina Ed Miley, though this might be the last week Sabrina is above Ed
  22. No it's available in the UK too
  23. Physical vinyls out week 1 and pretty affordable it seems. I think she has a good chance to take it
  24. It'll definitely be interesting to see what she does. If she follows the same timeline of Short n Sweet, she'd be releasing the album about the same time that she resumes the short n sweet tour. I'm not super well versed on artists touring while releasing an album, but the only one I remember is Taylor Swift, and Taylor's tour was celebrating all of her eras. But I could also see this just being a droplet before an album release next year
  25. Who called anyone a flop? This is just the natural life cycle of an artist
