  1. Taste and please please please are the new emotes, espresso is an old one and taste/please are based on her tour dances so they're used more. But Juno, nonsense, and feather are also in the game as jam tracks
  2. Yall gotta admit, its a great prank for spotify to leave us waiting like this, making us turn on each other
  3. The official BBC children in need medley
  4. As I said, she had a bigger debut day than Sabrina has, with no music video. Maybe she doesnt Sabrina level of name recognition, but she had plenty for the giver to be bigger if it was what people wanted
  5. The Giver is fine, but nothing special. It's better than Hot to Go, which I absolutely despised. For me, I think Chappell and Sabrina are the best comparisons, in terms of fanbase size. In intrigue level, I think Chappell is even bigger. No Sabrina song had a first day as strong as The Giver did, I dont think name recognition is an issue at all. Another song could've been bigger than anything Sabrina has released. So to see her first song as an A-lister settle down around busy woman, the 5th biggest song off short n sweet, it shows to me that the average fan also saw it as nothing special. Also this comparison is why I don't think PPC took away from the giver, and actually probably helped the giver. Having Espresso be as big as it was helped Pleasex3, and both helped Taste. In this current era of music, releasing a 2nd song when the first is still hot only seems to boost both. That said, I think now is the best time for Chappell to experiment. According to all sources, her album is nowhere close, with her producer saying probably next year. Having a song fade this quick hasn't hurt her star power, and you have to try new things when you're fresh or you get stale quickly. So to try new things that won't impact the next album, why not? No risk, high reward release. Got her a top 5 and proved that fans will be there for the release of her music, even songs they ultimately don't care about. For me, it says only good things about future releases
  6. Sabrina didn't release taste or bed chem on vinyl til January, Fortnight isn't getting one til RSD as I understand, thats so true vinyl is listed to ship on wednesday, birds of a Feather and PPC are listed to ship on thursday
  7. April 4th Announcement link
  8. Not often with singles. Most major artists delay single physical releases the same way. They do with albums, but Album physical sales are far more significant to Album release than singles physical sales are to singles release, so it's worth the risk.
  9. You still don't want the full production to leak
  10. Honestly I'd say it's just cause they don't have physicals produced yet. Physicals are a bit of a leak hotbed, and vinyl takes time to produce. If you order them on release week so you don't have to send the completed song til it's released, August is about the first time you could actually ship them
  11. That all makes sense. It'll be interesting to see what happens
  12. I think Ed probably takes it this year with how early he's going to release but I think Sabrina likely takes highest album not released in 2025
  13. Charli XCX has been named songwriter of the year, and AG Cook has been named producer of the year Charli's response
  14. I understand what you're saying but I've never before heard artists from different labels under the same label be referred to as label mates, except maybe a little bit in the US after Republic and Island began sharing resources last year. I've never seen say an Interscope artist and a Republic artist be called label mates. Do polydor and Island UK operate closely together like Republic and Island do in the US?
  15. Idk if you have the answer to this but something I'm confused by and I'm hoping someone knows. I'm American so I don't understand the ins and outs of y'alls music industry. But like, I've seen OCC say that Sabrina's UK label is polydor, and then other articles they call her and Chappell label mates despite Chappell being Island everywhere. I suppose it's moot anyway for this discussion because Chappell/Island UK might not want to bring her in regardless of how labels work if she isn't likely to win, but I'm confused how labels work if she has 2 different labels. Or if there's some quirk I'm missing, idk
  16. I looked at what other albums have done with streaming numbers and what they did first day on spotify, and if my math is right and they maintain like some of those albums and other streaming services match what youd expect, Tate should do about 20k streaming, Sam about 18.5.
  17. Idk if this is what you meant but I really like the song so I wanna expand on it a bit. I think what's interesting is a lot of artists use a metaphor for sex, it'll be about a car on the surface but you look at the lyrics and it's obviously about sex. I think whats interesting here is the regular meaning is sex but it's being used as a metaphor for her career. You know, they say she only has 15 minutes of fame, well she only needed 2 of those to make the world fall for her, imagine what she can do with the other 13? But also takes some digs at people who were mean to her in the past who suddenly act like shes so great cause her music is successful now
  18. This is a tricky rollout I think. The clear standout song of the deluxe has been out for 6 months in some capacity, and hasn't been mentioned by Sabrina in 3 months. No video, no new live performance, not even a social media post. Her focus has been on a feature that's polarizing at best. Will be interesting to see spotify numbers+ how her and her team react
  19. Her singles run should really be studied.
  20. My review after a few listens: 15 minutes: absolute bop, love the energy, would love to see it chart high cause it'd make the message of the song even better. Please please please ft dolly: I get a bit more after a few listens/the video. The original is still better, but i can appreciate what it means for Sabrina, and the video is fire Couldn't Make It Any Harder: interesting change of pace for Sabrina, who always sings very fast. Slowing it down works for her and I'd love to see more of this in her ballads Busy Woman: Deserves the world. It's funny, and introspective, and just a delight to listen to still 6 months later. Hope this gets a music video Bad Reviews: I'm not sold on this one yet. Like the message, like the introspection, but the lyrics and melody feel out of sync to my ears. Interested in listening more to see how this changes Overall: the highs rival the highs of the standard edition, the lows are lower considering for me, Short N Sweet standard was a 10/10 album of the year, I'll give the deluxe a solid 8/10
  21. I suppose I see that argument. I just wanna see Busy Woman get all the opportunity it can get lol, I love it
  22. I'll say, the video helps pleasex3, idk how to link videos, but the video they released is like a part 2 to the original video. And the way they are in the video enhances the song way more than it has any right to. I went back and actually tolerated the song after I saw the video. That said, I wish Busy Woman got a video and a full push and not giving half the push to this
  23. It's never been available to buy from the UK. They made it available to purchase here in the US to help put her over Travis Scott for #1 in the first week, but didn't have that issue in the UK. So I think that'll help it. But yeah, theres a buzz for it, even people who bought the song have been excited that it's finally on streaming proper. I think it's the right choice. That said, what i find bizarre is how they split it up a bit. Busy Woman is getting the playlisting and is being listed as the 5th single, but Please Please Please (ft. Dolly) got the video and it's all sabrina has mentioned on socials basically. So they're giving like half a push to 2 songs, one of which is seen as a worse version of a song that's already been a #1 hit
  24. I gotta say, i high key love it. Last year by the time of the brits, she had 0 weeks in the top 10, and 8 weeks in the top 40 in her career, most of them coming in the weeks leading up to the ceremony. Her numbers in the year since: 21 weeks at #1, 56 weeks in top 10, 95 weeks in top 40 across 6 songs. And because of that, she's a no-brainer and we're saying yeah someone of this caliber deserves whatever it takes to get her to perform, she'll do huge numbers. Things changed quick
  25. She spent enough time living at #1 last year that she was able to establish residency lol
