DaTilt Top 100 2025
43 Scowl - Special (295 points, peak @ #1) Scowl is an American hardcore punk band from Santa Cruz, California, formed in 2019. Fronted by Kat Moss, the band blends abrasive hardcore with elements of punk rock and alternative, earning attention for their raw energy and genre-bending sound. "Special" is a great punk-rocker and one of the harder entries in my Top 100. The video is ace, too.

44 Robin Schulz Feat. Cloves - Old Friend (291 points, peak @ 2) It is nice to hear Robin Schulz making Tropical House again. "Old Friend" is a beautiful, melancholic dreamy dance song featuring the wondeful voice of Australien singer Cloves. This one of only two German entries in my Top 100.

46 Billy Idol Feat. Alison Mosshart – John Wayne (284 points, peak @ #1) Billy Idol is one of the greatest artists of all time - so many great songs such as "Rebel Yell" or "Eyes Without A Face". With 70 years old now he is still releasing great music. "Dream Into It" is a great album and features this beautiful duet with Alison Mosshart.

gooddelta ranks the UK No.1s of 1999
York still maybe the innovators as their previous track "The Awakening" also featured a guitar sample - and that one was originally realeased in 1997, while 9PM was originally released in 1998. Both tracks are great and had big UK remixes which were even slightly better than the already great originals. Quake Remake of "Awakening" as well as the Matt Darey Remix of "9PM" are both awesome. On the "On The Beach" release the flip side is my favourite: Reachers Of C (Rank1 Remix).

gooddelta ranks the UK No.1s of 1999
I will be very disappointed if ATB is not in top 3 here. Time for my places 15 to 11. These are all songs that @gooddelta already presented and which are, thus, higher ranked in my listing, partcularly the ones from Geri and Ronan. 15 Geri Halliwell – Lift Me Up 8/10 14 Ronan Keating - When You Say Nothing At All 8/10 13 Geri Halliwell - Mi Chico Latino 8.5/10 12 Mr. Oizo - Flat Beat 8.5/10 11 Fatboy Slim - Praise You 8.5/10

47 MK, Chrystal - Dior (282 points, peak @ #3) In a year, which will not be famous for its dance music, "Dior" is one of the exceptions reaching #1 in the official UK charts. It was really a long campaign for Mark Kinchen to do so as he already scored Top 10 hits with the Nightcrawlers in 1995. Under his MK alias he already produced club classics such as "Burning" and "Always" in 1991/1992.

48 Jade - FUFN (279 points, peak @ #4) What a marvelous year for Jade. One of the best albums of the year and so many great songs on it. The reception regarding streams should have been higher, particularly for the single charts. Sacrilege that she did not have a song in the UK Top 10 this year. Candidate for female singer of the year.

49 Geowulf - Deep End (277 points, peak @ #4) Geowulf is an Australian dream-pop project formed on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland by Star Kendrick and Toma Banjanin around 2016. Originally a duo who grew up in Noosa and later split their time between London, Berlin, and Gothenburg. "Deep End" is a beautiful alternative pop song and I am happy that it made #8 in the latest pop song contest here.

50 Sombr - We Never Dated (276, peak @ #1) If there would be a Male singer award of 2025, Sombr would be one of the top candidates for me. He released several great songs and one of my Top 20 Albums of the year. More from Sombr to follow.

gooddelta ranks the UK No.1s of 1999
It is kind of strange that it only peaked @ #6 here as in general Ricky was quite popular in Germany. Actually these were the songs in front of it: "Mambo #5" was the best selling song in Germany in 1999. "My Love Is Your Love" was the 5th best-selling single of the year. Backstreet Boys were #14 in the year-end-charts. "Ö la Palöma Boys" was a novelty hit produced by German comedian Stefan Raab (#19 year end-charts) and "All Out Of Love" #22 in the year end-charts. So quite good competition. "Livin' La Vida Loca" only finished @ #51 in the year-end chart.

How many times do you need to listen to a song to rank it ?
Initial check for me is one time, but my initial check is quite broad, so I put a lot of stuff for re-listen. If it does not catch me really after 3-4 listens I drop it. However, sometimes it happens that songs come back based on recommendations here so that I give the song further chances. Same is true for artists I usually rate high.

51 Ava Max - Don't Click Play (276 points, peak @ #4) I am really disappointed that this album did not work commercially, becausa Ava absolutely delivered here. "Don't Click Play" is such a great bop, which demanded to be a Top 10 hit. However, the audience decided differently.

52 Lorde - Shapeshifter (270 points, peak @ #3) "Virgin", Lorde's thirs album, was a big success. "Shapeshifter" is by far my favourite song from the album - a perfect alternative pop song with a catchy hook.

DaTilt Top 100 2025
53 Ariana Grande - Twilight Zone (267 points, peak @ #5) "Twilight Zone" is a great pop song derived from the "Eternal Sunshine" deluxe version.

54 Vance Joy - Divine Feelings (267 points, peak @ #2) Vance Joy is the stage name of James Gabriel Keogh (born 1 December 1987), an Australian singer-songwriter known for his warm folk-pop sound and heartfelt lyrics. Raised in Melbourne, he originally pursued Australian rules football before turning fully to music. He is best known for his evergreen "Riptide", which is in the UK Top 100 for forever. "Divine Feelings" is a nice piece of synth-pop.
