Err.. actually it isn't D: She worked with plenty of producers and co-writers at that time, so even if she got involved in the work somewhat it doesn't make her all that creative [even if she chose who she worked with.] The fact is she's a puppet to her producers, lyricists and stylists and I don't really see how that can be denied, no matter how much of a Kylie stan you are D:

I can't decide between Aoyama Thelma or alan. Thelma has made one of my favourite songs of the year so far, plus her album is amazing. alan however has one of the most amazing voices i've ever come across, even though she's had only two singles <33

D: I remember first getting into JPop all those years ago, it's so amazing to just dive in head first into an industry so different to ours, although it's kind of all I listen to now [as well as KPop] :lol: I always think it's best to listen to the big artists first [Mr Children, B'z, Ayumi, BoA, Hikki] and then as you get more used to it you find all sorts of other amazng artists. Just like here, the best artists are usually the less successful. It always annoys me when people are just like ''oh yeah Japanese music, isn't it all morning musume and ayumi?'' because that couldn't be further from the truth, it's probably the most diverse country musically <3. if you ever want a good site to download from, try bww2 forums, the volume of music it has is incredible o:

I was the same with BoA :naughty: And I wouldn't really say it's one of the most important albums ever, as it didn't really switch anything up or be too different from anything musically, but it's the 12th biggest selling album ever in Japan [it sold 3,359,450 copies] so it was very popular at the time. Her style now is very different from what it initially was, one of the reasons why her career went downhill for most of this decade. She was a pop act up until ''Break The Rules'' when she began experimenting with R&B sounds, and slowly she's built up a new fanbase. You can get people who love her past work, yet loathe her now. If I may reccomend you her first ''BEST'' album ''181920'' to try out her early works if you're interested :P and I am aware of this :P although it's better than just me like it normally so, i'm good :lol:

JPop appreciation! :heart: Namie Amuro is the ''Queen of Hip-Pop'' - and is one of the most prolific females in Japanese history. My personal favourite song is ''CAN YOU CELEBRATE?'' it's amazing!! XD I wouldn't call myself a Amuro fan as such, but the ''PLAY'' album is my personal favourite of '07

I thought they were included in the chart months ago? I remember people being a bit pissed because they were going to include them before downloads counted from the moment of release rather than the week of their physical release.

Has she ever really been THAT groundbreaking though? I mean she's obviously been popular, but her ''re-inventions'' are hardly her own work, rather she just copies someone who achieved it less succesfully years before, and because she's so high profile people are all ''Omg ShE's a ReVoluTIOniseR!'' One thing she has is brains, i'll give her that. She's able to see a niche and exploit it, but a groundbreaker she certainly she is not. And the only thing she's resposnsible for in the music industry is the over-sexual nature of female artists - something which is now percieved a problem that plagues all charts. [/rant]

It's a tad bit $h!t if you ask me.. Not only is it a second rate Timbaland song in which Madonna simply feels a ''featuring'' artist, it is a horribly contrived and manipulated attempt to try and remain relevant in the US against the majority of female artists overshadowing her musically. it's attempt to be some sort of ''classic'' is also a big downfall, as not only can it live up to the hype, the song really isn't that good for any of the artists involved. It'll be a hit initially, but the real test will be 3-4 weeks from now when the initial hype has died down and we'll see how successful it is then. I'm not a huge fan of either, but Mariah, TMB & Her album cover >>> Madonna, 4MTSTW and the Hard Candy cover
