Tobacco Purchase Age to be Raised
I don't see the point. It won't stop anybody, I doubt many shops will enforce it, and what about the bunch of 16/17 year olds that smoke, is it fair to suddenly turn around and tell them they can't? People treat smokers like second class citizens sometimes.

I was thinking that about Ayaka, her recent songs are nice, but I wouldn't say 'hit' material. Her debut has done amazingly though, so im sure her sophmore will do just as good. I'm surprised Hikki has gone up :o I think this really will be a consistent seller, and imo her future releases will be this way. So happy for arashi as well, I've really gotten into them since HYD2

Best/Worst comeback singles/albums of 2007?
Utada Hikaru: With her last album not reaching one million and some lacklusture sales for singles, Hikki really came back big with some incredible tie ins and awesome music. 'Flavor of Life' was not only the key song in the huge drama Hana Yori Dango 2, but is the biggest female song this year and the most downloaded song in world music history. Her new double A-side is amazing, and one of the songs is the ending theme of 'Evangelion' - wouldn't surprise me if it became the second biggest female song of the year, behind FoL. If having the worlds most downloaded song in history isn't a big comeback, I don't know what is :D Avril Lavigne: TBDT is an awesome album, tbh <3 Worst: Kelly Clarkson: Go away, you've never been good. Lately you've gotten worse. Kelly Rowland: She totally didn't deliver with the new album. When you can make an album like 'Simply Deep' then 'Ms Kelly' is a total turn around [not a good thing] Ayumi Hamasaki: Glitter!? capable of far better. Her new songs seem to show that, but Glitter/Fated was another nail in the coffin of her declining career.

Gutted for Hikki, so close to #2 also. I reckon she'll outsell them both in the long run though, especially with the evangelion tie-in. It managed #1 at the box office with a limited screening. Let us hope Otaku's go and buy  Do you know where Aya Matsuura ended up? Come on Arashi!! :w00t: I reckon Ayaka at #2 & Hikki at #3. Hope PUFFY can go top 20 with ''Oriental Diamond'' Wow at the Vocalist albums, The '3' attention must have brough more popularity to 1 & 2, considering they've been in the top 20 for a few weeks. Not much interests me album wise atm :( but there is some pretty big releases coming up soon, which should be good.

Gimme More!
It's a good song imo. Sticks to a winning formula, not too much of a throw from her old music [iTZ] - it's obvious why execs chose this to be the first single, there's no way it could fail. fans will [naturally] lap it up, the beat will catch the publics attention, and it should be pretty good in a club. A lot of strategy has obviously gone into this, I doubt it sounds like Sexyback/Maneater accidentally :P It is obviously going to shoot up the chart simply because it's Britney, it's her comeback, and it's not awful. still, it is good :D

Did Ami really take more control over 'CONNETTA?' I always assumed it was Matsuura, although if she did it makes sense. Avex goes for dance music, Ami goes for normal pop which doesn't work, so Avex get her back out with another dance song. I suppose dreadful is too strong a description of it, but I just find it very dull :( Then again i've never been a fan of her sony works either. Singles: xx->01->01 - L'Arc~en~Ciel - 25710 + 17169 (x1.7) = 72,894 xx->02->02 - EXILE - 20857 + 14963 (x1.7) = 60,894 xx->03->03 - Utada Hikaru - 13290 + 11691 (x1.7) = 42,468 Hikki with not much of a drop at all, I'm thinking she can take second now. Ketsumeishi has already sold nearly 250K in albums :o

How much did her other collaborations sell? being honest, ''CONNETTA'' is dreadful album. It was obviously meant to bring back her sony fans, but not only failed that, but seemed to lose her fans that ATW brought her. I wonder what she'll do next.. I'm really hoping Hikki can pull it off, BW/K&C is my favourite single of the year, plus it would really solidify her comeback. then again even if she doesn't reach #1, I think she'll be the winner with overall sales. Do you think either could reach 150-200K in first weeks? ''Vocalist 3'' only got something like 83 points on NINKI, and that ended up beating ZARD, which had around 110 each respectively. In my opinion the single releases atm are quite good, and there are lots of good releases ahead. the final 3 weeks of September has kinki kids, Ayu, Kuu-chan and BoA. the album chart though atm is quite dull, but September should be good, personally im looking forward to Ai Otsuka's ''LOVE PiECE'' and Goto Makis ''How to use SEXY'' Oh - I need to show some love for Mika Nakashima @ #3 with ''Life''

I was rooting for Aiko this week :( I also wish buriguri could have got higher, although it's been up and down between 8-11 through the week. Any idea where 'FREE FREE' ended up? Im really looking forward to this weeks singles chart, Hikki, L'arc & Exile all have a chance, although Exile will probably have to settle for #3, the other two NINKI numbers are so close. Personally, i wouldn't be surprised if Hikki starts off around 2-3 but climbs to #1 during the week, since her promo for BW/K&C kicks in around Friday. The label really screwed up in releasing K&C so early on downloads, and it seems Japan isn't too impressed with BW. Did you know that she can only perform K&C on one show because she mentions a noodle brand  Also hoping Ayaya can get top 10 with 'Egao' I have to admit, the 'Vocalist 3' album isn't that bad  and weren't the other to in the top 20 last week also? [or mabye top 40, im sure I remember seeing them.] On another note, im still waiting for 'PLAY' to reach 500K

Your Collection
I really find Ms Kelly totally forgettable  Especially when you know she's capable of better, it just feels so generic and uninspired, although everyone has their opinion :P I love Simply Deep, but it perhaps tales a while to get into. Stole, Dilemma, Can't Nobody, Love/Hate, [Love Lives In] Strange Places, Haven't Told You, Train On A Track & Beyond Imagination, they're all amazing  I think the whole 'slow jam' style suits her down to the ground, both in terms of image and vocally.
