(NE) BTS World tour ‘ARIRANG’ in Busan: Live Viewing - £291,042 Weeks: 1 (£291,042) 9. (09) The Devil Wears Prada 2 - £236,668 (-57%) Weeks: 7 (£33,885,900) 10. (08) The Sheep Detectives - £230,729 (-59%) Weeks: 6 (£9,587,151) Falling out: The Amazing Digital Circus: The Last Act (1 week) Tuner (2 weeks) After the craziness of last weekend, the World Cup has now kicked off and we’ve been brought back down to earth with a slow weekend. The first time in a while which we’ve been down on the equivalent weekend of last year (although only by 1%). The winner is ‘Disclosure Day’ £5,504,987, £3.9 million without previews). Coming from the most celebrated director of all-time, Steven Spielberg, the promotion for this film gave little away aside from the fact that it’s a return to the alien sub-genre and has rewarded him with his fifth strongest opener. With previews, it’s the best opening since ‘The BFG’ ((£5,288,529, #1) in 2016 but it’s three-day gross is also behind ‘Ready Player One’ (£5,113,041, #2, 2018). I’m not sure how this is going to hold because audience reaction has been mixed at best. The only other new entry this week is ‘BTS World tour ‘ARIRANG’ in Busan: Live Viewing’ (£291,042, #7). This is coming off the back of the consecutive releases the band had in April on their long-awaited return where ‘Goyang’ (£336,475, #6) and ‘Japan’ (£203,738, #8) both reached the top 10. It’s fitting that this opened between the two films and then peaked between them too. ‘Obsession’ continues to impress, reaching a new peak of #2 despite a 22% drop in business. It’s done more this weekend than it did on weekend 1 or 2 which shows just how good the word-of-mouth has been. With £13.4 million, it has passed ‘Nosferatu’ (£12.9 million) when it comes to horrors from last year with only ‘Sinners’ (£16.8 million) and ‘The Conjuring: Last Rites’ (£18.3 million) doing better. After 7-films did it last week, the third-and-final film to gross £1 million+ this weekend is ‘Scary Movie’ that loses top spot after shredding 66% in week 2. With £7.2 million, it’s already up to #3 in the ‘Scary Movie’ franchise and is within striking distance of last year’s ‘The Naked Gun’ (£7.6 million) when it comes to reboots of classic parody franchises. It has a weekend of big drops overall with ‘Backroom’s holding at #4 despite losing 57%. But it has become the 13th film to pass £10 million so far this year, just creeping ahead of ‘The Drama’ to be A24’s big hit of the year. ‘The Sheep Detectives’ just about holds on in the top 10 with a 59% drop and is edging closer to becoming the latest addition to the £10 million+ club. Aside from ‘Obsession’, the only other film to drop less than 50% is ‘Michael’ which loses 46% while ‘Star Wars: The Mandalorian And Grogu’ continues to fade without a trace, losing 64% as it still hasn’t hit £15 million after a month in cinemas. ‘The Devil Wears Prada 2’ drops 57% in week 7. ‘Masters Of The Universe’ is not showing much strength either. Dropping 67% (59% without previews), it is up to £4.3 million but doesn’t look like it will get much higher. It’s better than ‘Mortal Kombat II’ at least. For anyone interested, ‘The Amazing Digital Circus: The Last Act’ drops to #11 with a 92% drop and is still just short of £3 million in total. There is one further new entry in the #11-15 section: Main Vaapas Aaunga’ (#14). Next week sees the openings of ‘Toy Story 5’, ‘Virginia Woolf’s Night & Day’, ‘Cactus Pears’, ‘Girlfriends’, ‘Familiar Touch’ and ‘Effi O Blaenau’. Amazing from Cape Verde! I knew they were going to be a lot stronger than Curaçao and I was debating between 2-0 and 3-0 for the predictor but I wasn't expecting them to be that good. They were much more adventurous than I thought they would be too. They tried to play out of the back and took loads of risks in midfield. There were times where I was shouting for them to just foul and instead they defended brilliantly and put a good tackle in. Spain look like a completely different side without their two wingers!

I thought the interview with Charlie Cox was random yesterday but Killer Mike filming a VT about Atlanta for ITV has been the wildest part of the World Cup so far.

Spain 3-0 Cape Verde Belgium 2-1 Egypt Saudi Arabia 0-2 Uruguay Iran 1-0 New Zealand

Tunisia looked poor at the AFCON and the change in manager and squad doesn’t look to have worked. Sweden certainly have great attacking talent but I think their defence will be what stops them against the top sides.

Ivory Coast’s stronger bench was the difference today. I think they could both still cause problems for Germany.

Japan looked way off the pace compared to the side that beat England in March but still picked up a point. I think Mitoma & Endo are both massive misses for them.

Went about how you'd expect in the end. On paper, that feels like the biggest mismatch of the tournament.

Get in there Curaçao!!!

Germany 4-0 Curaçao Netherlands 2-2 Japan Ivory Coast 0-0 Ecuador Sweden 2-0 Tunisia

Scotland are the only of the five European teams to win so far! Well done to Australia. Two very well taken goals.

Song #1 on the track-list has been announced as being ‘kiss me’ at her show tonight!

Haiti just lacked a killer edge. They played the better football. Scotland were pretty underwhelming.

Bit of an underwhelming second half but at least Morocco shown up after never really getting going during their home AFCON despite their ‘win’. Bouaddi looks like a good player. Brilliant for Morocco that they’ve managed to poach him from France.

Lopetegui is the Qatar manager. Fabian Schär retired from international after the Euros too.

I thought Qatar were well worthy of that point. Could have even won it if they shown a little more quality in the final third. I hope they can get the VAR pictures for the penalty soon.

Qatar 0-2 Switzerland Brazil 2-1 Morocco Haiti 0-2 Scotland Australia 0-1 Turkey

Disappointingly one-sided in the end. USA have a good squad but Tim Ream will be a weakness in the later rounds.

I feel like that was a bit of a missed opportunity for Canada. Wasted a few good chances. Both teams will fancy themselves against Qatar and, if they both get victories, they'll probably both be in the knockouts with 4 points.

Canada 2-1 Bosnia & Herzegovina USA 1-0 Paraguay

That was an enjoyable match. I thought the Czechs were going to nick a draw.

The Mexico red card was the only one I thought should have been a red.

Mexico 2-0 South Africa South Korea 1-1 Czech Republic
