(12) The Odyssey - £261,148 (+72%) Weeks: 13 (87,453,854) Falling out: Avengers: Endgame Encore (2 weeks) Drishyam: The Conclusion (1 week) Practical Magic 2 (4 weeks) Pressure (4 weeks) It was a tight race with only £60k separating the top two but we do have a new #1 as ‘Other Mommy’ wins the battle with £1,969,622. This is the already the biggest hit for director Rob Savage who briefly looked like the next big-name in horror when ‘Host’ was a big home-hit during COVID. His big gig was the Stephen King adaptation ‘The Boogeyman’ (£492,071, #5, 2023) which only made £1.9 million in total and it looked like other directors had stolen his momentum to become the next bigger auteur of the genre. This is the fifth biggest horror opening of the year. Opening at #5 is ‘The Social Reckoning’ (£621,262). This is the sequel to ‘The Social Network’ (£2,486,454, #2, 2010) and is directed by the Oscar-winning scribe of the film Aaron Sorkin after the departure of David Fincher. Jesse Eisenberg also drops out with Jeremy Strong stepping into the role of Mark Zuckerberg alongside Mikey Madison starring in her first role since winning an Oscar for Best Actress. The original went on to back £10 million+ which this one won’t be replicating. I am excited to check it out though. The final new entry this week is ‘The Uprising’ (£541,444, #7). From Paul Greengrass (The Bourne trilogy, ‘Captain Phillips’) this sees Andrew Garfield star as peasant outlaw who may-or-may-not be called Robin Hood depending on if you’re following the UK or US marketing campaign. This is a stronger opening than the more openly Robin Hood-y ‘The Death Of Robin Hood’ (£316,129, #7) from last month. Almost hanging on for a second weekend atop the chart, ‘Verity’ loses 44% in weekend two to add a further £1.9 million. It’s already the second biggest of the four Coleen Hoover adaptation with £7.3 million, overtaking the £6.2 million of ‘Reminders Of Him’. It’s not going to get near the £21.7 million of ‘It Ends With Us’ but it should be a lock to get above £10 million. Consistently holding at #3 for a third weekend is ‘Heart Of The Beast’ (-29%) which is up to £5.4 million and also looks like it will reach double figures. ‘Resident Evil’ drops another 42% to reach £12.7 million and overtake Cregger’s effort from last year, ‘Weapons’ (11.8 million). It will soon get past £13.1 million which will help it climb above ‘Backrooms’ as the second biggest horror film of the year. As spooky season approaches, ‘Shaun The Sheep: The Beast Of Mossy Bottom’ is holding very impressively, losing just 11% this time around. It is still off the pace of previous Shaun adventures though. ‘Digger’ doesn’t have a great second week hold (-55%) but it’s not the huge fall-off I think a lot of people were perversely expecting. It’s up to £2.2 million and its awards hopes looking like they’re fading. With the ‘Endgame’ re-release also concluding, IMAX screens have been donated back to ‘The Odyssey’ in mass, helping it climb 72% in its 13th weekend and re-enter the top 10. They’re really pushing for the £90 million but I don’t think it’s going to get there. Concluding the top 10 discussion is ‘Sense And Sensibility’ which drops 40% in week three to climb above £5 million. There are two further new entries in the #11-#15 section: ‘Queen Budapest’ (#13) and ‘Lalka’ (#15). Next week sees the openings of ‘Street Fighter’, ‘Whalefall’, ‘Forgotten Island’, ‘Jailer 2', 'Hadestown: The Musical’, ‘The Influencer Project’, ‘Winter Of The Crow’, ‘Case 137’, ‘Macbeth: Met Opera 2026’. ‘Deadline’, ‘Naza’, ‘By Design’, ‘It’s My Time’ and ‘Always Lalisa’. We also see re-releases of ‘The Others’, ‘Dracula’ and ‘Arrietty’. Can any of them top the charts?

Just catching up, I'm not surprised that Morrisson track has made the top 40. I haven't heard so much talk online about a song since Not Like Us 🤣 It's a Digga D diss and when you find out the reason why he's dissing him, YIKES!

'thank u, next' gets its first win as ghostin is our clear favourite with 80% of the vote. The Way and everytime both picked up a single vote. Ultimate Honeymoon Avenue Dangerous Woman One Last Time Into You Break Free (feat. In a more competitive poll, my hair was the only other song to get multiple votes while Break Your Heart Right Back, Leave Me Lonely and the boy is mine had one person chose them. 2nd October 2026 - 4th October 2026 1. (NE) Verity - £3,396,611 Weeks: 1 (£3,396,611) 2. (02) Resident Evil - £1,337,563 (-40%) Weeks: 3 (£11,239,089) 3. (07) Pressure - £281,358 (-52%) Weeks: 4 (£6,441,801) Falling out: The Odyssey (11 weeks) Spider-Man: Brand New Day (9 weeks) The Paradise (1 week) Colleen Hoover adaptations have become a box office force in recent years with ‘Verity’ becoming the second of which to reach #1. It does so with £3,396,611 which is less than the infamous ‘It Ends With Us’ (£4,516,760, #1, 2014) but betters her last two: ‘Regretting You’ (£1,275,980, #2, 2025) and ‘Reminders Of Him’ (£1,081,953, #2, 2026). This is another hit for Anne Hathaway in a banner year for her with ‘Mother Mary’ being the only blip on her CV with Dakota Johnson and Josh Harnett also in main roles. ‘It Ends With Us’ went on to make £21.7 million which this won’t reach but the £6.2 million and £4.5 million of the other two should be easy to beat. Not quite being as competitive as Warner Bros. would have hoped, ‘Digger’ has a disastrous £1,089,898 opening at #4. This is first theatrical release for Alejandro González Iñárritu in 10 years after he famously won back-to-back ‘Best Director’ Oscars for his one-two punch of ‘Birdman Or (The Unexpected Virtue Of Ignorance’ (£1,524,667, #7, 2015) and ‘The Revenant’ (£5,235,851, #1, 2016) and stars Tom Cruise in his first non-action role in years. This was expected to a major awards play and a reported $180 million was put into its budget. The only positive I can see is that it has opened slightly above ‘American Made’ (£1,067,075, #1, 2017) to avoid being his lowest since ‘Rock Of Ages’ (£1,003,107, #4, 2012). The final new entry comes from India and is ‘Drishyam: The Conclusion’, (£471,160, #8). This is less than ‘Drishyam 3’ (£835,968, #5) from May earlier this year. These are both the third film in trilogies of the same name, with this being a Hindi remake of the Malayalam franchise. Holding at #2 is ‘Resident Evil’ after a 40% drop. It’s already up to £11.2 million and is closing in on the £11.8 million of ‘Weapons’ from last year. ‘Heart Of The Beast’ holds strongly just behind it as well with its 3-day drop of -26% (-45% with previews) being the strongest of the week. This has now passed £4 million and I’m fancying it to get to £10 million. After a lowly opening, ‘Sense And Sensibility’ sticks around in week 2 with a 37% drop and has earned £3.7 million so far. This is tracking almost the exact same as the previous Daisy Edgar-Jones literally adaptation, ‘Where The Crawdads Sing’ which had £3,767,061 after two weekends in 2022. ‘Shaun The Sheep: The Beast Of Mossy Bottom’ drops 33% and has £3.2 million after three weeks. The two oldest films in the top 10 are now ‘Practical Magic 2’ and ‘Pressure’ which are both on their fourth week. Both films fall about 52% and have made £7.5 and £6.4 million it total. Last week's #1 was ‘Avengers: Endgame Encore’ which shreds 83%. The re-release has £5.9 million and has now re-overtaken ‘Avatar’ to become the biggest ever film worldwide. There are two further new entries in the #11-#15 section: ‘Linkin Park: Unshatter’ (#13) and ‘Jet Lag: Japanorama’ (#15). ghostin everytime Break Your Heart Right Back (feat. Childish Gambino) The Way (feat. Mac Miller) the boy is mine warning signs (interlude) Leave Me Lonely (feat. Macy Gray) my hair I was hoping it was going to be Leave Me Lonely or my hair for worst but I can just about accept warning signs if that's what it's gonna be. I was confident that ghostin would win.

Go on Ashe, so deserving!!! It just goes to show how important major record labels still are. 3 albums made no impact since her TikTok hit and then her first single after signing with Atlantic is a massive hit.

Greedy is the comfortable winner this time picking up 6/11 votes. safety net was the only other song to pick up more than one vote with Be My Baby, make up and true story having one person love them. Ultimate Honeymoon Avenue Dangerous Woman One Last Time Into You Break Free (feat. Zedd) supernatural Greedy Second time in a row where you've all disappointed me with successful becoming the third track from 'sweetener' to be our least favourite. Daydreamin' and freak both picked up two votes while Be My Baby, make up and safety net also picking up a vote. Worst Intro blazed (feat. Pharrell Williams) the light is coming (feat. Nicki Minaj) Saturn Returns Interlude Lovin' It Piano successful ~ Yours Truly - 1, 2 My Everything - 2, 1 Dangerous Woman - 3, 0 sweetener - 0, 3 thank u, next - 0, 0 positions - 0, 0 eternal sunshine - 1, 1 petal - 0, 0

Greedy successful safety net (feat. Ty Dolla $ign) true story make up Be My Baby (feat. Cashmere Cat) freak Daydreamin' It looks like it's anyone's game for least favourite. I hope it's not successful

It was a hard fought battle between bad idea and supernatural but it was the latter than eventually won out by one vote. It becomes the first song not from Ari's first three albums to be voted the best. Let Me Love You finished a distant third on two votes. This is the first vote that I really disagree with. Ultimate Honeymoon Avenue Dangerous Woman One Last Time Into You Break Free (feat. Zedd) supernatural We make it back-to-back least favourites from Ari's debut with Piano following in the footsteps of Lovin' It. Best Mistake, sweetener, six thirty and bad idea () also pick up votes. Worst Intro blazed (feat. Pharrell Williams) the light is coming (feat. Nicki Minaj) Saturn Returns Interlude Lovin' It Piano ~ Yours Truly - 1, 2 My Everything - 2, 1 Dangerous Woman - 2, 0 sweetener - 0, 2 thank u, next - 0, 0 positions - 0, 0 eternal sunshine - 1, 1 petal - 0, 0

I've never actually listened to her debut album before. I was waiting for the 'Taylor's Version' but it looks like we may never get that so this will be a good excuse to give it a spin. I've heard of all her other albums but I'm a lot less familiar with her pre-1989 albums so I'd expect a lot of my least favourites are going to come from those first 4 albums. And unfortunately that's the case this time where Tim McGraw is my least favourite. My favourite is the 1. I'm not as huge on folklore as most but it's opener has always been my favourite from the record.

Let Me Love You (feat. Lil Wayne) big feelings bad idea Best Mistake (feat. Big Sean) Piano supernatural six thirty sweetener I ended up going for LMLY as my favourite which doesn't do anything for the poll I knew it would be a close one. We have until tomorrow to split the tie. I'm surprised Piano is the runaway least favourite. It's always been one of my faves from debut.

This one feels wide open to me. I'm really intrigued to see where these results end up. It's also the first one where I don't feel ready to vote instantly. There's 3 tracks I'm really debating between for my favourite (Let Me Love You, bad idea and big feelings) and I'm going to have to give them some fresh listens to decide.

In our closest battle yet, Break Free edges out God is a woman by one vote to become the second 'My Everything' track to be our favourite. oh well also got one vote for more recent representation. Will track 6 be the first time we see some lower case in the tracklist? Ultimate Honeymoon Avenue Dangerous Woman One Last Time Into You Break Free (feat. Zedd) Unfortunately for Ari's debut album, we were not Lovin' It which was the comfortable winner (or loser). I am surprised it took this long for the debut to finish in the worst list.
