  1. 63. The Penguin Lessons - £3.3 million In 1976, as Argentina descends into violence and chaos, a world-weary English teacher regains his compassion for others thanks to an unlikely friendship with a penguin.. Director: Peter Cattaneo Cast: Steve Coogan, Jonathan Pryce, Vivian El Jaber Release Date: 18th April 2025 Distributor: Lionsgate Certification: 12A Genre: Drama Rotten Tomatoes: 78% IMDb: 7.1 Top 15 Chart Run: 3-7-6-8-13 (5 weeks) Opening Weekend: £1,057,236 (#3) "A British teacher in Argentina saved and houses a penguin at this school". It sounds like a pitch than Alan Partridge would have gave to the head-commissions officer of the BBC in his sitcom but is instead an adaptation of the true-life story of Tom Mitchell starring Steve Coogan. This was an improvement on Cattaneo's previous release ('Military Wives, £2.9 million) but a far way off his 'The Full Monty' days. This result was made more impressive as Odeon chose not to show it.
  2. 64. Saiyaara - £3.2 million Two artistic souls find harmony through music despite their contrasting worlds. As feelings deepen, age and circumstances challenge their undeniable bond. Director: Mohit Suri Cast: Ahaan Panday, Aneet Padda, Alam Khan Release Date: 18th July 2025 Distributor: Yash Raj Certification: 12A Genre: Musical Rotten Tomatoes: 63% IMDb: 6.3 Top 15 Chart Run: 10-6-7-9 (4 weeks) Opening Weekend: £194,072 (#10) 2025's biggest Indian hit goes to 'Saiyaara'. If you thought 'Dhurandhar' climibing 94% in week 2 was impressive, this one managed an insane 161% increase in weekend two before it found an even bigger audience on Netflix. We even got the title track to its soundtrack reaching the UK Top 100 singles chart. This was a phenomenon and was the second biggest Indian film in the UK until the past week or so.
  3. 65. The Phoenician Scheme - £3.2 million If something gets in your way: flatten it. Wealthy businessman Zsa-zsa Korda appoints his only daughter, a nun, as sole heir to his estate. As Korda embarks on a new enterprise, they soon become the target of scheming tycoons, foreign terrorists and determined assassins. Director: Wes Anderson Cast: Benicio del Toro, Mia Threapleton, Michael Cera Release Date: 23rd May 2025 Distributor: Universal Certification: 15 Genre: Comedy Rotten Tomatoes: 77% IMDb: 6.6 Top 15 Chart Run: 4-7-9-11-14 (5 weeks) Opening Weekend: £770,562 (#4) I didn't have a particularly busy year going to the cinema in 2025 with this being only the second film so far that I did see on the big screen. I have seen the the last four Anderson films in the cinema so he's quietly coming one of biggest draws in film. Despite some interesting additions to his often never-changing cast (Michael Cera, Tom Hanks) it was the (potentially nepo-baby) Mia Threapleton (daughter of Kate Winslet) that I found the most engaging newcomer. It's not Anderson's strongest but still a solid addition to his filmography.
  4. I’ll take any new music. Would love to even have even just one more new song before the tour
  5. Week 13 FLO - Leak It BTS - Body to Body Luke Combs - Rethink Some Things Chris Stussy & Tom Did It - Wide Awake BTS - Swim Temper City - Self Aware RAYE - Click Clack Symphony. (feat. Hans Zimmer) Niall Horan - Dinner Party BTS - FYA Nothing really doing it for me this week. FLO would just about be the best. 'Dinner Party' is like Alex Warren with even less edge. Week 14 Kanye West - FATHER (feat. Travis Scott) Kanye West - ALL THE LOVE (feat. Andre Troutman) Central Cee - WAGWAN BTS - Normal Miley Cyrus - Younger You Prospa & Cloonee - Free Your Mind Chris Rainbow - Be Like a Woman RAYE. - I Know You're Hurting. Kanye West - KING Malcolm Todd - Earrings The Long Faces - Jane! Judging purely on the music quality, I can see why those are the two Kanye tracks in the top 40. They're much better than anything from his last album and the third track here. 'WAGNWAN' is Central Cee's best for a long time. 'Normal' might be the best thing I've heard from BTS. I'm surprised that its not picking up any votes. I really don't like the vibe of 'Earrings'. He seems so smarmy lol.
  6. 66. The Monkey - £3.1 million Everybody dies. And that's f*cked up. When twin brothers find a mysterious wind-up monkey, a series of outrageous deaths tear their family apart. Twenty-five years later, the monkey begins a new killing spree forcing the estranged brothers to confront the cursed toy. Director: Osgood Perkins Cast: Theo James, Tatiana Maslany, Christian Convery Release Date: 21st February 2025 Distributor: Black Bear Certification: 15 Genre: Horror Rotten Tomatoes: 77% IMDb: 5.9 Top 15 Chart Run: 4-4-6-9-15 (5 weeks) Opening Weekend: £1,070,404 (#4) God save the King. 2025 was the year of Stephen King with this being the first of three adaptations of his work in this chart. This had a lot of pre-release hype being Osgood Perkins's follow-up to 'Longlegs' (£8.1 million, EOY #35) from 2024. That film became a sensation after a unique marketing campaign which this couldn't quite manage to match. This is a much more comedic take which I think alienated some viewers. It still managed to make about 7x it's budget worldwide though.
  7. 67. Bugonia - £3.1 million It all starts with something magnificent. Two conspiracy obsessed young men kidnap the high-powered CEO of a major company, convinced that she is an alien intent on destroying planet Earth. Director: Yorgos Lanthimos Cast: Emma Stone, Jesse Plemons, Aidan Delbis Release Date: 31st October 2025 Distributor: Universal Certification: 15 Genre: Comedy Rotten Tomatoes: 87% IMDb: 7.4 Top 15 Chart Run: 1-4-10-10 (4 weeks) Opening Weekend: £986,194 (#1) We have our first #1 hit to drop out and its much lower than the for the other two EOY charts I've posted ('Shazam! Fury Of The Gods, £6 million, EOY #41, 2023 and 'Transformers One', £4.6 million, EOY #46, 2024). Although, as you can see this was a sub-million grossing #1 (the first time this had happened since 'See How They Run' bagged a 2nd week at #1 with £984,779 in September 2022). In fact, it was only previews that allowed this to top the chart, without them it would have landed at #3 and 'Regretting You' would have instead been a #1 hit on its second weekend. Lanthimos and Stone is the go-to director/actor paring of the 21st century with this landing at a healthy third in their works, well behind 'Poor Things' (£7.6 million, EOY #36, 2024) from last year. This is a remake of the 2003 Korean film 'Save The Green Planet!'.
  8. 68. Marching Powder - £3.1 million A rom-com with a kick. Middle-aged Jack, arrested for drugs, strives in six weeks to repair his marriage, curb a bullying in-law, and guide his stepbrother in the right direction, but all efforts fail as his life spirals further out of control. Director: Nick Love Cast: Danny Dyer, Stephanie Leonidas, Calum MacNab Release Date: 7th March 2025 Distributor: True Brit Certification: 18 Genre: Comedy Rotten Tomatoes: 33% IMDb: 5.3 Top 15 Chart Run: 3-4-8-14 (4 weeks) Opening Weekend: £1,079,492 (#3) Danny Dyer had moved into TV over recent years (including an infamous stint on Eastenders) but he made his first film in 10 years (since straight-to-DVD flick 'Assassin') and was rewarded with the second biggest hit of his career (trailing only 'Mean Machine', £4.4 million). This saw him re-team with director Nick Love with whom he made three films at the start of his career. It's also Love's second biggest film behind 'The Sweeney' (£4.4 million). This film was a huge success for an 18-rated British comedy (that looked terrible) made for a £1.6 million budget. Especially when they went for a non-traditional marketing strategy, ignoring TV adverts and focusing on online ads.
  9. 69. Dhurandhar - £3 million A mysterious traveller slips into the heart of Karachi’s underbelly and rises through its ranks with lethal precision, only to tear the notorious ISI-Underworld nexus apart from within. Director: Aditya Dhar Cast: Ranveer Singh, Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt Release Date: 5th December 2025 Distributor: Bollywood Films Certification: 18 Genre: Action Rotten Tomatoes: 35% IMDb: 8.3 Top 15 Chart Run: 7-4-4-8-12-15 (6 weeks) Opening Weekend: £306,678 (#7) With the sequel in cinemas now and breaking records left, right and centre, we only had to go back to December to see the original 'Dhurandhar' have the sort of run we don't usually see for Indian films, having a big boost in weekend two and sticking around for 6 weeks. That's some difference between its Rotten Tomatoes and IMDb ratings. This was only the second biggest Indian release in 2025 but was comfortably bigger than the top 2024 release 'Pushpa 2: The Rule' (£1.6 million, EOY #75).
  10. 70. I Know What You Did Last Summer - £2.8 million You get the ending you deserve. When five friends inadvertently cause a deadly car accident, they cover up their involvement and make a pact to keep it a secret rather than face the consequences. A year later, their past comes back to haunt them and they’re forced to confront a horrifying truth: someone knows what they did last summer… and is hell-bent on revenge. Director: Jennifer Kaytin Robinson Cast: Madelyn Cline, Chase Sui Wonders, Jonah Hauer-King Release Date: 18th July 2025 Distributor: Sony Certification: 15 Genre: Horror Rotten Tomatoes: 36% IMDb: 5.1 Top 15 Chart Run: 5-8-11 (3 weeks) Opening Weekend: £941,968 (#5) Sony must have saw the success the legacy sequels to 'Scream' have been doing for Paramount and though 'we can do that'. They had a 90s teen-slasher franchise of their own and we go the third (theatrical) film in the 'I Know What You Did Last Summer' franchise, introducing new characters as well as bringing back some of the original cast (Jennifer Love Hewitt and Freddie Prinze Jr.). It didn't set the box office alight but still bagged a healthy $65 million against a $18 million budget.

Out of the recent bunch of Scouse rappers to make the charts, Still Brickin' is definitely the one that sounds the best to me. Pump 101 is the second track from a UK artist that heavily relies on your affection for 50 Cent with this reworking 'Stunt 101' by G-Unit. Speaking of such songs lol. The Woo features 50 Cent after he executive produced Pop Smoke's album after his tragic passing. I think most people have forgot just how massive that album was. I'm more likely to listen to 'Mood Swings' not but appreciate that this was the best way to lead the album. Miss Me felt like a non-#1 in my charts at the time, relying on the glory of their past team-ups but I've ended up going back to it loads in the past couple of years. Look at its recent holds: it's dropped 54 places over two years after originally dropping 71 places in 2022. Reworking 'Butterfly' by Crazy Town, Ain't It Different saw three of the biggest names of UK rap join forces at the time of the peak of their chart success. I like Headie's verse but its AJ that steals the show for me. 911 makes it two songs I love that mimic the sound of police sirens for the chorus. I'll be raving the next time one goes past. Lil Wayne's song still clears though. I really love the long build in Jail. You're constantly waiting for the drop and it just never comes (aside from some brief cymbal action). Jay's 'selfie' line is weak but the rest of the verse is solid. I think time will finally let us admit that some of the disses on Not Like Us aren't that strong (other vaginal option, calling PARTYNEXTDOOR a drug user) but what makes it such a lethal diss is that its a certified club classic. And that was Drake's whole schtick for a while. Boyfriend was a #1 hit in my chart in 2020 and feels like a bit of a hangover from the 2010s era of my chart. It already sounded a bit dated then but now we're a bit removed from the time, it's sounding fresh again to me. Maybe it's just nostalgia for a different time. Talk talk is a relatable song about having a crush. The ecstasy of the outro is what elevates it from a nice album track into something special. Fkn Around is what I think other people must be hearing when they listen to Steve Lacy. It has such a funky mood and the lead singer's vocals are like silk. Megan dominates the song when she comes in, it's definitely some of my favourite work from her. Judging by the video, a fun time has had by all making this song. Drake's not had a great decade and it feels funny having him appear in the same section as 'Not Like Us'. I'd probably just listen to 'Superman' now but I did enjoy hearing his Eminem flip on Chicago Freestyle. I forgot how much I liked Lucky. It has a nice melody, fun production and decent break-up lyrics. Just a really solid pop song. Mine sees us reach the halfway point for the solo tracks on ITZY's 'BORN TO BE' album. It's quite groovy and it comes from who I would have said was my least favourite member. AJ is all over this section with Yumeko being his third song. His signature flow just works for me and the chorus here demands to be sang-along with. Such a unique, playful beat that would still be fire without AJ over it. How can a 2-minute interlude be so epic? i n t e r l u d e only consists of one short verse but it certainly packs a punch. It turns out this is Leah's section as well as AJ's with Super Over also being her third entry. This was the title track to her debut album and is exactly what she excels at. Fun pop music that always has a memorable chorus. Sorry Kendrick but you don't have the best diss song in this section as the catchily-titled Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53 takes the crown. I have no idea what Shakira is saying but I know that she is murdering Pique. Not Shy was ITZY's 2nd #1 hit in my chart and is a great reminder of why LIA was originally my favourite member. Her parts are easily the highlights in this track. A lot of the rest could have easily been seen as annoying.

It was certainly a happy easter for cinema owners as a bumper weekend sees the biggest opening weekend of the year so far for ‘The Super Mario Galaxy Movie’ that officially opens to £14,995,549 (£9.4 million without previews). Throw in Easter Monday and you get a six-day total of £17.7 million. Already enough for it to be the 4th biggest film of the YTD. This is a pretty similar opening to ‘The Super Mario Bros. Movie’ (£15,691,810, #1, 2023) but if you take a closer look at the numbers, there’s some interesting trends. The previews for the sequel were lower and the Easter Monday number this year was significantly down (£2.7 million vs £4.1 million). However, during the 3-day weekend, ‘Galaxy’ actually outgrossed the original (£9.4 million vs £8.7 million). This inconsistency is making it difficult to understand whether there is more or less hype for this sequel but I guess we’ll find out in the coming weeks. Another interesting comparison is ‘A Minecraft Movie’ (£15,013,136, #1, 2025) which opened on the same weekend last year. ‘Minecraft’ didn’t have any previews so its 3-day weekend was actually bigger than the 5-day opening of ‘Galaxy’ and that didn’t have any bank holidays to help boost it. The original ‘Mario’ made £56 million while ‘Minecraft’ banked £56.6 million. Also opening well was the buzzy dark comedy ‘The Drama’ (£2,144,798, #3). Starring Zendaya and Robert Pattinson, this has become the biggest opening weekend for an A24 produced film beating ‘Civil War’ (£1,823,179, #2, 2024). Both films were distributed by Entertainment Film in the UK. This is showing that Zendaya can help non-franchise films do well as her previous indie hit, ‘Challengers’ (£1,607,094, #1, 2024) also did very well. In fact, this even opened slightly higher than Pattinson’s big-budget release last March, ‘Mickey 17’ (£2,132,080, #1, 2025). Not quite finding the same audience, ‘Fuze’ opens at #6 with £301,959. This is a British heist film from director David Mackenzie, who has great form with the genre having previously made the excellent ‘Hell Or High Water’ (£552,230, #7, 2016). This one stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Theo James, Sam Worthington and Gugu Mbatha-Raw and is about a gang of criminals who use the detection of an unexploded WWII bomb in London as distraction to steal from a bank. The final new entry this week comes from India and is Vaazha II: Biopic Of A Billion Bros (£248,955, #8). This is a comedy and is a sequel to ‘Vaazha: Biopic of a Billion Boys’ (£43,902, #20, 2024). This has already comfortably outgrossed that films total in just 3-days. The other current Indian hit ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’ loses 58% on weekend three but becomes only the second Indian film to pass the £4 million mark. ‘Project Hail Mary’ loses top spot but has another strong weekend, only losing 28% on weekend three pushing its total above £20 million. It is the second film to reach that milestone this year. It will have outgrossed Weir’s previous adaptation ‘The Martian’ by the end of the week. ‘Hoppers’ has a slightly harsher drop (-48%) but stays in the top 5 for a fifth week. Despite strong competition in the kids market, ‘The Magic Faraway Tree’ has a great second weekend, only dropping by 26%. It’s already passed £7.5 million which helps it climb into the top 10 YTD. ‘Reminders Of Him’ and ‘Ready Or Not 2: Here I Come’ round out the top 10 with drops of 61% and 60% respectively. The later should do enough to overtake the gross of the original ‘Ready Or Not’ by next weekend. There is one further new entry in the #11-15 section: ‘Robb Da Radio 3’ (#11). However, we do also see a re-entry for the 25th anniversary re-release of ‘Amélie’ (#13). Next week sees the openings of ‘California Schemin’’, ‘Undertone’, ‘You, Me & Tuscany’, ‘BTS World Tour ARIRANG In Goyang: Live Viewing', Father Mother Sister Brother’ and ‘The Stranger’. We also see a re-release of ‘Stand By Me’. Can any of them top the charts?
  16. 71. Chainsaw Man: The Movie: Reze Arc - £2.7 million In a brutal war between devils, hunters, and secret enemies, a mysterious girl named Reze has stepped into Denji’s world, and he faces his deadliest battle yet, fueled by love in a world where survival knows no rules. Director: Tatsuya Yoshihara Cast: Kikunosuke Toya, Reina Ueda, Tomori Kusunoki Release Date: 24th October 2025 Distributor: Sony Certification: 15 Genre: Anime Rotten Tomatoes: 96% IMDb: 8.3 Top 15 Chart Run: 3-8-10 (3 weeks) Opening Weekend: £1,110,945 (#3) 2025 was a great year for anime with this having the 4th biggest opening for an anime film in the UK (and was only £200k away from topping the weekend chart) but it still wasn't the biggest anime release of 2026. Based on the popular manga series, this is a direct continuation of the 2022 first series of the anime.
  17. 72. The Accountant 2 - £2.6 million Do you like puzzles? When an old acquaintance is murdered, Wolff is compelled to solve the case. Realizing more extreme measures are necessary, Wolff recruits his estranged and highly lethal brother, Brax, to help. In partnership with Marybeth Medina, they uncover a deadly conspiracy, becoming targets of a ruthless network of killers who will stop at nothing to keep their secrets buried. Director: Gavin O'Connor Cast: Ben Affleck, Jon Bernthal, Cynthia Addai-Robinson Release Date: 25th April 2025 Distributor: Warner Bros. Certification: 15 Genre: Action Rotten Tomatoes: 76% IMDb: 6.6 Top 15 Chart Run: 4-4-5-7-12 (5 weeks) Opening Weekend: £907,034 (#4) The delayed sequel to 2016's 'The Accountant', Anna Kendrick doesn't return but the rest of the main cast does, including Jon Bernthal. Spoiler alert, he was a villain in the first film (and brother to the main character) but who turns good for this buddy-cop-eque sequel. This grossed about half of the original in the UK and only made $103 million worldwide against a $80 million budget but a trilogy-closer was still announced.
  18. 73. The Ballad Of Wallis Island - £2.6 million He's getting the band back together. An eccentric lottery winner who lives alone on a remote island tries to make his fantasies come true by getting his favourite musicians to perform at his home.. Director: James Griffiths Cast: Tom Basden, Tim Key, Carey Mulligan Release Date: 30th May 2025 Distributor: Universal Certification: 12A Genre: Comedy Rotten Tomatoes: 97% IMDb: 7.4 Top 15 Chart Run: 12-11-8-10-12-10-10-13 (8 weeks) Opening Weekend: £142,542 (#12) One of the big stories of the UK Box Office was how this British fan-favourite found it's audience over time and banked £2.6 million despite missing the top 10 in its opening two weekends. It opened 9x less than the Peppa Pig movie did in the same weekend but has managed to finish the year well above. This is a feature-length remake of the director and two writer/actor's 2007 short film 'The One and Only Herb McGwyer Plays Wallis Island' which was nominated for a BAFTA.
  19. 74. MacBeth: David Tennant & Cush Jumbo - £2.5 million Fearless and unforgettably creepy. This high-concept production, filmed live at London’s Donmar Warehouse, stars the formidable talents of David Tennant and Cush Jumbo in Shakespeare’s most infamous tragedy. Director: Max Wesbter Cast: David Tennant, Cush Jumbo, Cal MacAninch Release Date: 5th February 2025 Distributor: Trafalgar Certification: 12A Genre: Theatre Rotten Tomatoes: n/a IMDb: 7.8 Top 15 Chart Run: 4 (1 week) Opening Weekend: £691,142 (#4) The third biggest event cinema release of 2025, David Tennant and Cush Jumbo star in this acclaimed production of Shakespeare's famous 'Scottish' play. This would have been the top event cinema release in 2024.
  20. 75. Flight Risk - £2.4 million Y'all need a pilot? A pilot transports a U.S. Marshal accompanying a government witness to a trial in New York. As they cross the Alaskan wilderness, tensions soar and trust is tested, as not everyone on board is who they seem. Director: Mel Gibson Cast: Mark Wahlberg, Michelle Dockery, Topher Grace Release Date: 24th January 2025 Distributor: Lionsgate Certification: 15 Genre: Thriller Rotten Tomatoes: 29% IMDb: 5.2 Top 15 Chart Run: 4-7-12-15 (4 weeks) Opening Weekend: £811,232 (#4) Mel Gibson's soft launch back into Hollywood was typical January fare but ended up being a small hit ($50 million worldwide on a $25 million budget). Mark Wahlberg apparently puts in a suitably crazed performance but critics didn't have much else positive to say about this one. Mark Kermode called it "one of the worst films I've ever seen".

  22. 76. Peppa Meets The Baby Cinema Experience - £2.4 million Join Peppa Pig and her family at the cinema as they get ready for their biggest adventure yet: welcoming a new baby. Director: Gretchen Mallorie Cast: Morwenna Banks, Harriette Cox, Richard Ridings Release Date: 30th May 2025 Distributor: Trafalgar Certification: U Genre: Kids Rotten Tomatoes: n/a IMDb: 5.5 Top 15 Chart Run: 5-7-9-13-15-14 (6 weeks) Opening Weekend: £1,065,856 (#5) If you were worried that Peppa Pig might be losing her edge, don't fret, she now has a baby brother or sister (idk which) to deal with. It did help buck the trend with this grossing more than 2024's effort 'Peppa's Cinema Party' (£1.7 million, EOY #70). I'm surprised that that was more of a draw than the 20th anniversary with big name stars.
  23. 77. Inter Alia: NT Live 2025 - £2.3 million A searing new play from the team behind Prima Facie. Jessica Parks is a smart Crown Court Judge at the top of her career. Behind the robe, she is a karaoke fiend, loving wife and a supportive parent. When an event threatens to throw her life completely off balance, can she hold her family upright? Director: Justin Martin Cast: Rosamund Pike, Jamie Glover, Jasper Talbot Release Date: 4th September 2025 Distributor: National Theatre Certification: 15 Genre: Theatre Rotten Tomatoes: n/a IMDb: 8.4 Top 15 Chart Run: 9-x-8-12 (3 weeks) Opening Weekend: £752,942 (#5) Earning the National Theatre bragging rights, Rosamund Pike's 'Inter Alia' was the biggest release of 2025 but it also outgrossed 2024's efforts ('Nye: NT Live 2024, £2.1 million, EOY #66) although they did all get beat by the re-release of Jodie Comer in 'Prima Facie: NT Live 2022' that grossed another £3.1 million in 2024. There are still three more event cinema releases to come but no more NT Live releases.
  24. 78. Warfare - £2.2 million Everything is based on memory. A platoon of American Navy SEALs on a surveillance mission gone wrong in insurgent territory. A boots-on-the-ground story of modern warfare and brotherhood, told in real time and based on the memory of the people who lived it. Director: Alex Garland & Ray Mendoza Cast: D'Pharaoh Woon-A-Tai, Will Poulter, Cosmo Jarvis Release Date: 18th April 2025 Distributor: A24 Certification: 15 Genre: War Rotten Tomatoes: 92% IMDb: 7.1 Top 15 Chart Run: 5-10-10-10 (4 weeks) Opening Weekend: £752,942 (#5) Released on Easter weekend last year, it's a very different to film I went to see today (I took my niece to watch 'Hoppers'). Alex Garland co-directs with real-life US Navy SEAL veteran Ray Mendoza to try and make the most accurate-to-life war picture of all-time'; depicting the Battle of Ramadi during the Iraq War.
  25. 79. Flow - £2.1 million Disaster tore their world apart. Friendship will bring them together. A solitary cat, displaced by a great flood, finds refuge on a boat with various species and must navigate the challenges of adapting to a transformed world together. Director: Gints Zilbalodis Cast: n/a Release Date: 21st March 2025 Distributor: Curzon Certification: U Genre: Kids Rotten Tomatoes: 97% IMDb: 7.8 Top 15 Chart Run: 6-9-7-12-11 (5 weeks) Opening Weekend: £411,675 (#6) The feel-good story of recent award seasons, 'Flow' won 'Best Animated Feature' at last year's Oscars despite being made fully on free animation software Blender, featuring absolutely no dialogue and having a budget so tight, that they didn't even create any deleted scenes. It was the first Latvian film to ever receive an Oscar nomination and it went on to win. In its home nation, it has become the biggest film ever released. I've never heard anyone say a negative word about this and it's one that I do need to watch at some point.
