61. Tate McRae - Just Keep WatchingSoundtrack Single from 'F1: The Movie' Release Date: 30th May 2025 Chart Run: 3-4-7-10-16-16-19 (7 weeks) Wanna take your time up Official Peak: 06 Crownnote Points Chart: 46 (45/100) End-Of-Year Points Chart: =54 (=53/100) Last.fm Chart: =111 (=69/100) Tate McRae's Chart History: 2022 03 she's all i wanna be 2022 01 what would you do? 2022 04 what's your problem? 2022 05 don't come back 2022 06 you're so cool 2022 13 hate myself 2022 12 uh oh 2023 01 greedy 2023 01 exes 2023 07 think later 2023 08 hurt my feelings 2023 11 guilty conscience 2023 05 we're not alike 2023 19 plastic palm trees 2023 15 messier 2023 19 calgary 2024 06 It's ok I'm ok 2024 06 2 hands 2025 09 Sports car 2025 04 Purple lace bra 2025 05 Miss possessive 2025 07 Revolving door 2025 03 Just Keep Watching 2025 17 run for the hills 2025 06 TIT FOR TAT 2025 06 TRYING ON SHOES 2025 09 ANYTHING BUT LOVE 2025 07 NOBODY'S GIRL Tate McRae's EOY History: 2021 28 feel like shit 2022 07 what would you do? 2022 27 she's all i wanna be 2022 68 you're so cool 2022 73 what's your problem? 2022 76 don't come back 2023 18 greedy 2023 24 exes 2024 87 It's ok I'm ok 2025 61 Just Keep Watching 2025 66 Sports car 2025 85 TIT FOR TAT 2025 95 Revolving door The second of three singles from the F1 soundtrack to make an appearance, 'Just Keep Watching' was the big worldwide hit from the film, riding the wave of Tate's current success. A high energy dance-pop track, this felt more in line with some of the music Tate was making pre-'So Close To What' (the Tiësto collab) and didn't feel to be as solid as her work on the album, despite me still enjoying it. I haven't actually listened to it all that much since it left my chart but its actually sounding really fresh today. I might have to re-add it to a few playlists. I've never heard it but the original leaked version of featured Tyla which I just can't picture what that would have sounded like. Best Part: Tate slaying her moves in the video

62. Janet Devlin - Houston6th Single from 'Emotional Rodeo' Release Date: 18th July 2025 Chart Run: 11-11-4-7-14-17 (6 weeks) Houston, I got so many problems Official Peak: n/a Crownnote Points Chart: 65 (64/100) End-Of-Year Points Chart: =66 (=65/100) Last.fm Chart: =148 (=79/100) Janet Devlin's Chart History: 2025 02 Red Flag 2025 04 Emotional Rodeo 2025 09 Daddy 2025 13 Catfishin' 2025 04 Houston 2025 05 Candy 2025 17 Psycho Ex Janet Devlin's EOY History: 2025 62 Houston 2025 72 Emotional Rodeo 2025 97 Candy This one of those rare tracks that I actually remember where I was when I first heard it. I was on holiday in Madrid and had just done a stadium tour at the Metropolitano and was checking out the new releases I was interested in on Spotify during the metro back to the city centre. I didn't have high expectations and t usually takes me a few spins to really get into a song but I was shocked how much I liked this on the first listen. The chorus is a bit of an earworm. Despite not fitting the Madrid vibe at all, it's always going to take me straight back there in my head every time I hear it. Best Part: All of the affectations on the vocals that add so much personality

63. JISOO - Your LoveAlbum Track from 'AMORTAGE' Release Date: 14th February 2025 Chart Run: 3-3-5-10 (4 weeks) Your love feels like a Sunday when you got nowhere to go Official Peak: n/a Crownnote Points Chart: 67 (66/100) End-Of-Year Points Chart: 65 (64/100) Last.fm Chart: =33 (30/100) JISOO's Chart History: 2023 01 FLOWER 2023 01 All Eyes On Me 2025 01 earthquake 2025 03 Your Love 2025 06 Hugs & Kisses 2025 10 TEARS 2025 04 EYES CLOSED (JISOO & ZAYN) JISOO's EOY History: 2023 06 FLOWER 2023 08 All Eyes On Me 2025 63 Your Love 2025 77 Hugs & Kisses 2025 94 EYES CLOSED (JISOO & ZAYN) Back-to-back K-Pop soloists now with my favourite, JISOO's third entry. Expect her fourth to appear much later in the countdown. 'Your Love' was the clear stand-out on the EP (aside from the single) so it was no surprise that this one was the one to get an accompanying video and inclusion in JISOO's solo-stage on the Deadline World Tour.. This is a very sweet love song that allows her vocals to shine with the dreamy verses and passionate chorus. Not as flash as most of the other member's solo tracks but its very romantic and suits the way she likes to portray her personality through her music. Perfect for its Valentines Day release. Best Part: JISOO's dreamy vocals

64. MINNIE - HER2nd Single from 'HER' Release Date: 21st January 2025 Chart Run: 2-2-4-12 (4 weeks) Just call my name and say it softly Official Peak: n/a Crownnote Points Chart: 61 (60/100) End-Of-Year Points Chart: 64 (63/100) Last.fm Chart: =178 (=84/100) MINNIE's Chart History: 2025 02 HER 2025 08 Blind Eyes Red 2025 19 Drive U Crazy (MINNIE & YUQI) MINNIE's EOY History: 2025 64 HER Bagging herself an EOY top 100 position before her group have even came close, MINNIE's 'HER' is the first #2 peaking track to drop-out, despite having two weeks at that position. This is the classic K-Pop single; an unbelievably catch chorus, brash production and an elaborate video where the artist gets to show-off lots of different looks. In many ways, it's a similar song to 'Too Much' with it being another song of self-confidence. It's pretty basic but sometimes those are the most enjoyable songs. Best Part: The fun video concept that sees many MINNIEs interact with each-other

65. Dove Cameron - Too Much1st Single from tbc Release Date: 21st February 2025 Chart Run: 7-8-9-14-20 (5 weeks) If I'm such a big deal, maybe you're too little Official Peak: 95 Crownnote Points Chart: 88 (83/100) End-Of-Year Points Chart: =86 (=82/100) Last.fm Chart: =178 (=84/100) Dove Cameron's Chart History: 2021 02 LazyBaby 2022 02 Boyfriend 2022 01 Breakfast 2022 06 Bad Idea 2022 08 Girl Like Me 2023 19 We Go Down Together (Dove Cameron & Khalid) 2023 08 Lethal Woman 2023 05 God's Game 2023 12 White Glove 2023 13 Still 2025 07 Too Much 2025 05 French Girls 2025 07 Romeo 2025 10 Whatever You Like Dove Cameron's EOY History: 2021 48 LazyBaby 2022 21 Breakfast 2022 29 Boyfriend 2022 97 Bad Idea 2025 65 Too Much 2025 69 French Girls 2025 83 Whatever You Like 2025 90 Romeo Dove's fourth and final song this year is the one that brought her back into the UK official chart (albeit very briefly), 'Too Much'. This was the perfect re-introduction to Dove after a couple of years without any new music. Its bold and brash and captures your attention right from the start with the confident and self-accepting chorus. It's particularly nice to hear as she spoke quite often about taking a break from music after suffering from some mental-health issues during her performance on Dua's tour. And this was such a fun one to hear live too. While on the topic, I want to shout out Dua Lipa for having a pair of support acts that seemed scientifically manufactured to appeal to me with Dove and Alessi accounting for 16% of my top 100 on their own. Poor Dua only manages one entry this year. Best Part: The shock of this scraping into the UK top 100 on debut

Haha, yeah it's definitely not how I remember Janet sounding when she was on X Factor. Nice to see The Fate of Ophelia getting some praise from you both too. I'll catch up on your list soon Pete! Thanks both 🙂

The whispering chorus feels like it was a big risk too but it pays off and manages sultry and seductive when it could have just sounded silly. I was intregued to see how she was going to handle the chorus in an arena-concert setting and she just used it as an opportunity to take a dance break. Probably the right choice to be fair. I'm glad she's brought back this darker, R&B style of pop as she's so good at it. As you can see above, this was actually my 8th most played track of 2025 which just goes to show what a January single-release and February album-release can do for a song! Best Part: The whispered chorus

Also serving as the album's opening track, 'The Fate of Ophelia' is just a really solid pop song and what I wanted when I heard Taylor and Max Martin were working together again. I've seen some people criticise the mixed-metaphors and cliched lyrics which I think is a bit petty and hypercritical. I think the next album is going to be an interesting one for Taylor. She seems like she's reached the point where she's become so big that the pushback against her is almost as big as the excitement surrounding her. Best Part: Max Martin delivering what I wanted for a Taylor pop comeback

Jorja Smith) AJ Tracey extends his record to make it an eight consecutive year with at least one entry in my EOY top 100. An envious record despite his latest album 'Don't Die Before You're Dead' being a tad underwhelming, only providing two EOY placements (including 'Joga Bonito' in 2024) despite a strong run of singles that missed out on the final tracklist ('Wifey Riddim 4', 'Bubble Bath'). AJ has found a distinctive sound and he can flow on these type of tracks all day but what makes this one stand-out is that Jorja tries to do the same thing. We're so used to hearing Jorja belt out hooks with one of the strongest voices in R&B today and, when this collaboration was announced, that's what I was expecting her to do but instead she decided to take on AJ at his own game and bar out in her own verse. With a proper old-school grime beat that samples Brandy's 'Love Wouldn't Count Me Out', this is the type of song UK rappers "just don't make anymore" and I'm so happy with brought AJ back to the top 40 for the first time in four years. Best Part: Jorja switching it up and barring out on the verses

I'm really loving this current phase of Dove's music where she's consistently releasing fun, little bangers. The titular opening line of the chorus of course refers to the iconic quote made by Kate Winslet in Titanic but I don't remember Rose every saying anything like '"Arch my back like the Triomphe". 🤣 Best Part: The melodramatic delivery of the chorus

70. JENNIE - with the IE (way up)Album Track from 'Ruby' Release Date: 7th March 2025 Chart Run: 7-8-13-(x2)-18-(x17)-13-7 (6 weeks) Why are you evaluating me on your day off? Dua Lipa) JENNIE's EOY History: 2018 62 SOLO 2023 11 You & Me 2024 17 Mantra 2025 70 with the IE (way up) The second, but certainly not the final, appearance from a solo BLACKPINK member in the top 100, 'with the IE (way up)' was an album track from 'Ruby' and is the second song in a row which features a prominent sample. This time it's JLo's 'Jenny from the Block' that gets a modern twist. The late-90s/early 00s Hip-Hop vibes in this one are immaculate and JENNIE is able to put so much of her personality onto here.JENNIE often gets criticised for being 'lazy' in live performances but she came-alive in the solo-stages of the Deadline World Tour and her section was the most hype of the four and was what helped this track re-enter my chart and make the EOY list. Best Part: How much she kills the medley of Handlebars and this on the tour

UK Singles Chart new entry of the week | 2026 Week 1
Sabrina Carpenter - Such A Funny Way Shakira - Zoo Zara Larsson - Midnight Sun I quite like all three this week but Sabrina is my clear favourite. 'Zoo' is annoyingly catchy and has been in my head since I've seen the film. 'Midnight Sun' could be a grower. Fun beat but doesn't quite match some of her other songs for me.

R&B/Hip Hop Track Of The Week - Week 01
Doechii & SZA - girl, get up. Nafe Smallz - ALONE Joji - LOVE YOU LESS Fimiguerrero - Yesterday Jill Scott - Beautiful People Kareen Lomax - idea of you The Kid LAROI - BACK WHEN YOU WERE MINE MOLIY - Backie Mya Craig - lkn up Russ Millions, YV, TeeRowdy & Slim Bizzle - wto Doechii is definitely the best this week for me. Nafe Smallz is always wavy too so I'll give it a vote because I feel like I will be the only one. Russ Millions has some good songs previously but this one just sounds so cheap.

71. Kylie Cantrall feat. ILLIT - See U Tonight4th Single from 'B.O.Y.' Release Date: 6th May 2025 Chart Run: 8-6-7-11 (4 weeks) On a high like he Soprano Official Peak: n/a Crownnote Points Chart: 101 (93/100) End-Of-Year Points Chart: =73 (=71/100) Last.fm Chart: =148 (=79/100) Kylie Cantrall's Chart History: 2025 07 Goodie Bag 2025 03 Denim 2025 06 See U Tonight (feat. ILLIT) ILLIT's EOY History: 2025 71 See U Tonight (Kylie Cantrall feat. ILLIT) The latest in the never-ending conveyer belt of Disney-star-turned-pop-star is Kylie Cantrall who's 'B.O.Y.' EP really impressed me last year and has spawned three EOY top 100 entries. The first of which being 'See U Tonight' which features two members (YUNAH & MINJU) of K-Pop girl-band ILLIT. A lot of the EP is R&B-tinged which you might not guess if you just listen to this one which is pretty bubblegum. The first thing you notice is that the song interpolates 'I Wonder If If I Take You Home' by Lisa Lisa & Cult Jam (or 'Don't Phunk With My Heart' if you're more my age). It feels like 2025 saw fewer interpolations than in other recent years but we still got one of the better examples of the trend with this. ILLIT really fit well into the song too and I wish there was an extra verse which would stop this from feeling so light. Best Part: The fun use of the interpolation

72. Janet Devlin - Emotional Rodeo1st Single from 'Emotional Rodeo' Release Date: 26th April 2024 Chart Run: 4-4-6-6-12-13 (6 weeks) You keep saying you've been taming wilder ones than me Official Peak: n/a Crownnote Points Chart: 54 (53/100) End-Of-Year Points Chart: 41 (41/100) Last.fm Chart: =117 (=72/100) Janet Devlin's Chart History: 2025 02 Red Flag 2025 04 Emotional Rodeo 2025 09 Daddy 2025 13 Catfishin' 2025 04 Houston 2025 05 Candy 2025 17 Psycho Ex Janet Devlin's EOY History: 2025 72 Emotional Rodeo 2025 97 Candy This may be slightly on the campier side of country music again (with some 'hair metal' influences too), this was released in 2024 as the introduction to Janet's new swing in direction towards a new genre and, if you're trying to shred your past image and re-invent yourself, why not start with a bang and throw absolutely everything, including the kitchen sink, at it? It's probably the most unsubtle song in my whole countdown but that's what makes it so fun. I feel like people from the southern America would actually hate this and it's the equivalent of an American rapping like Munya Chawawa's Unknown P and claiming it's drill music but it really works for me. The lyrics are cliché-abound but the play of the 'emotional rodeo' phrase in general is quite fun Best Part: The pure boldness and excessiveness

73. Olivia Dean - Nice To Each Other1st Single from 'The Art of Loving' Release Date: 30th May 2025 Chart Run: 13-6-9-11-17 (5 weeks) So can we say we'll never say the classic stuff? Official Peak: 04 Crownnote Points Chart: 86 (81/100) End-Of-Year Points Chart: =81 (=79/100) Last.fm Chart: =235 (99/100) Olivia Dean's Chart History: 2025 06 Nice To Each Other Olivia Dean's EOY History: 2025 73 Nice To Each Other 2025 was Olivia Dean's year. Her rise seemed to be rapid and, although she hasn't seen quite the same ascent in my charts, I'm certainly not against her success as her voice is lovely. I do quite enjoy 'Man I Need' and it's one of my top songs of last year that missed my weekly charts but it's 'Nice To Each Other' that I feel should have been the bigger one. I feel like a lot of her songs I've heard previously just landed in the 'nice but inessential' category but it looks like she's finally found that extra something that pushes her songs into being something special. The only reason this has landed so low on the last.fm chart was because I heard it so often anyway that I didn't feel the need to search for it of my own accord. Best Part: The extra spice she adds to the 'I don't want a boyfriend' line

This one goes particularly hard in a concert setting. It's a bit of a crowd-pleaser and with a pretty easy chorus to sing-along with, everyone is able to join in unison to create a special atmosphere. In a few years, when she's a superstar (it's happening!), this will the one of those songs that defines an artist and the fans will demand that it remains through every tour. It's also a great showpiece for her vocal ability. Best Part: Singing along to the chorus with every other fan in attendance on two different tours
