What a brilliant match! Despite two lengthy injuries in added time, it was still ten best added time of the tournament. I didn’t want it to end. Great advert for keeping the 5-subs rule after Covid because the subs made it such a classic. They completely changed the game in Croatia’s favour in the 2nd half and then have Albania the impetus to go hell for leather at the end and get the equaliser.

Turkey-Georgia was a really good match. I’m still a bit disappointed that Greece didn’t win the play-off and we missed the chance for the Portugal rematch 20 years after Euro 2004 but at least Georgia look like they’re going to provide some entertainment. The Portugal-Czech Republic was a bit dull though. Howler from the goalie for the equaliser. I imagine it’s the same shouts from fans in Portugal to what we usually see in England as they have so much attacking talent but their formation doesn’t seem to exploit that. They do look like they’ll be very difficult to play against though. It really worked in not letting Czech Republic get any respite as they couldn’t get the ball upfield.

That handball decision was rubbish. I’m not a fan of how they deal with handballs in UEFA competitions at all.
