  1. Even as a kid during this time, loved this period because all of the big charts hits (the only way I was discovering music at the time) were all by women. Was reminded about during in summer 2023 when the successive numbers (and top 5-7 every week) were by women but that December to March run was I believe the only time prior to 2023 that five different songs by women were the successive chart toppers • Leona Lewis - Run • Alexandra Burke - Hallelujah • Lady Gaga - Just Dance* • Lily Allen - The Fear • Kelly Clarkson - My Life Would Suck Without You plus everything else vis-à-vis women going on at that 3 month period - Alesha Dixon comeback as a soloist, The Saturdays ascension, Girls Aloud eventual last hurrah, Pussycat Dolls last time as a unit for a decade, peak Pink, Beyoncé’s most commercially dominant era, Taylor Swift starting to emerge internationally. * James Masterton of chart watch uk said Colby O’Donis wasn’t credited on the uk single release at the time and his verse was left out of the radio edit.
  2. MTV Music UK had a “biggest of the year countdown” the other day and anyone know how accurate this is? Ordinary Pink Pony Club Golden Messy Love Me Not Dior APT. That was so funny because every second word was censored and the replacements like “wet and gushy” are far more perverse and dirty sounding than the actual wap.
  4. Thank goodness, I like "Air Balloon" well enough but that being for last major hit / top ten just felt off. also, if ‘Pussy Palace’ does end up going top ten, do we know how many other British women had a top ten hit in three decades like Allen would have (00s, 10s, 20s) Unless I’m missing someone, the only other ones are Shirley Bassey (50s, 60s, 70s); Kate Bush (70s, 80s, 00s) and Adele (00s, 10s, 20s).
  5. Unless I’m missing something obvious, the three Dave tracks will be his three collaborators highest peaking in the UK. in addition to it being Tems 2nd top ten (after #8 collab “Wait For U” with Drake & Future in 2022), and both the first top ten for James Blake and Kano.

Do the streams and sales towards both songs count towards the duel total. Wonder which one is the most consumed.
  7. Lily Allen Apple update #45 West End Girl #50 Pussy Palace #67 Ruminating #80 Sleepwalking #83 Madeline #85 Tennis #112 Relapse #124 4chan Stan #131 Nonmonogamummy #168 Just Enough #180 Dallas Major #192 Beg for Me

Kinds surprised this hasnt been reported on more by OCC. they had daily pieces out on the all female top 5-7 for various weeks in august-september 2023. I guess because it’s some combination of multiple Taylor, Olivia & Huntr/x songs make it less newsworthy? (plus the one raye song).

What does BOTTB mean? I assumed "Bring on the throw back"?

Still loving how there’s a new hamilton cert every other week now, and there’s still 19 more tracks from the musical that hasn’t been cert yet. One of their best songs for me, glad to see it go silver (I believe their 10th deep cut to go silver?) Anyone know what this has been doing weekly, if I recall correctly it sold around 150k in 2010 so if my math is right it is only about 58 units per week? And assuming it keeps at that pace, would reach gold status by December 2089, lol.

Huntr/x are doing every date of the iHeart Jingle Ball city tour in December, which also happens to not be on the same day as the capital jingle bell ball. Can see them doing it this year too.

Honestly dont see her doing any festivals period until Midnight/Eras jumpstarted Taylor-mania dies down in like 5-10 years? Not even Glastonbury or Coachella.

Thank you, knew I was forgetting some obvious folk. Didn’t realise million dollar bill was platinum, adore that record. Glad it’s being remembered as a part of Whitney’s catalogue.
  14. Basically the woman equivalent of Lesis Capaldi (but I guess that also applies to Holly Humberstone)

Interesting that “Mystical Magical" gets removed but the older "Sorry I’m Here for Someone Else" is still playlisted.

Kylie’s 7th platinum single, and unless I’m missing someone obvious. Wouldn’t this make her the only artist with a platinum single from 4 different decades. 80s - I Should Be So Lucky, Especially for You 00s - CGYOOMH, Santa Baby, Spinning Around 10s - All the Lovers 20s - Padam Padam I also summer "Devil" and "Confide" are her closet tracks from the 90s to 600k / platinum status? I think Cliff Richard technically has songs from four decades surpassing 600k units but aren’t certified due to older rules? Can someone check this?
  17. I think that’s actually due to a Halloween boast, it’s on several Halloween playlist and is the only song in the film performed by the actual demons being hunted (in demon form).
  18. Good 4 U was the song that converted non-fans to Olivia, not surprised it was the bigger performer overall.

I think it’s going top 100 is more do with the viral Wuthering Heights movie trailer that it soundtracked recently. Can see the song going top 40 once the film is released in February.
  20. She even managed to regular chart her big country singles in the top from 2009-2011 as well. Incredibly rare for a strictly country artist then.

Anyone know the last time Louis Tomlinson got playlisted by Capital? Granted I’m sure there’s more appetite for 1D soloists since after Liam’s passing and Harry is taking his sweet time with HS4, but his music is so not what the station regularly plays. Makes me think he could be a Jingle Bell Ball performer too, especially with a new album out in January.

The nerd in me so glad it’s Silver now because that now makes every mainline Robbie LP from 1996 to 2016's "The Heavy Entertainment Show" ("Love My Life" is Gold) have a certified single. Doubtful that either his 2019 Christmas LP or the upcoming Britpop album will get a Silver song soon.

I think this is the first certified Hannah song too. obviously not counting the Miley credited "The Climb" and "Hoedown Throwdown" from 2009's "HM: The Movie"
  24. Apple 1 & 10 - the fate of Ophelia 2 & 16 - Elizabeth Taylor 4 & 17 - Opalite 5 & 19 - Father Figure 6 & 20 - Eldest Daughter 7 & 24 - Ruin the Friendship 8 & 23 - Actually Romantic 9 & 22 - The Life of a Showgirl feat. Sabrina Carpenter 11 & 27 - Wi$h Li$t 12 & 28 - Wood 14 & 29 - Cancelled 15 & 34 - Honey The titular track and romantic are the only ones whose chart position so far isn’t based entirely on their position in the album track listing.
  25. If I had a penny for every 2025 hit that shared a titular of a 2018 hip-hop track by a rapper whom is a generally awful person, names begins with the letter t and was romantically involved with Kylie Jenner. I would have two pennies, which isn’t a lot but it’s odd that it happened twice.
