I dont understand the hype behind Olivia Rodrigo’s new album, it just feels predictable and bland.
  2. Middle Giants Release New Dance Single “Steam” UK electronic music act Middle Giants have released their latest single, Steam, a catchy blend of nu-disco and electronic house featuring breathy vocals, uplifting energy, and a strong dancefloor groove. The song explores themes of freedom, connection, and self-expression, telling the story of men finding a space where they can be themselves away from judgment. Combining a meaningful message with commercial dance production, Steam delivers both substance and an infectious hook. Fans of modern house, disco-inspired dance music, and Pride anthems may want to check this one out. 🎧 Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/track/7m5o3ep1xyrSsVLBtfpVD8 📺 Video: https://youtu.be/e9QoQ6dbRVc .

I really cant listen to any of Drake’s songs, maybe im too old or too gay for that type of music, but i cant understand the hype.
  4. That Olivia Dean , Sam Fender song is so dull I don’t get the hype
  5. They played it because of Sabrina , it could have been any old singer (Liza minelli, Barbra Streisand etc) and they would have played it if Sabrina Carpenter was on it

I agree, Jack Savoretti is so talented yet so underrated, I find him having amazing songs such as “What more can I do”, “who’s hurting who”, “Music’s too sad without you”with Kylie Minogue, “Too much history”, “candlelight “, “Youth & Love” etc which in my opinion are way better than Alex Warren, Noah Kahan & Teddy Swims combined. Hopefully this album will reach number 1 and put him in headlines again.

Hilary’s album is a pop masterpiece , Cardigans meets Fleetwood Mac, she should hopefully stay top 5…

She has two top 10 UK hits and several top 40 hits which is a much better result than the US…

Shes quite underrated and her new album is a real gem, i do encourage everyone here to stream/download/purchase it. Its a great album without any fillers.
  10. I completely agree. Allowing the same songs to remain on the charts for an excessively long time, without safeguards like a recurrent chart or significantly reduced weighting for older tracks, risks making the charts feel outdated and less relevant over time.
  11. Totally agree, Greatest hits albums should be on compilation charts, especially in this era where their streams being artificially inflated by the current chart rules where even streams from older tracks are counted towards greatest hits albums..
  12. It may not fully return to how things once were, even with a recurrent-songs rule, but it would at least make clear which new releases are genuinely popular at any given time. The same logic applies to the album charts: having Abba, Fleetwood Mac, or Queen greatest-hits albums chart indefinitely simply because of long-term streaming doesn’t really reflect current listening trends. In effect, it’s like albums charting because our parents are playing them at home rather than because they represent what’s new or culturally current.
  13. I still think the UK charts should introduce a separate chart for older songs, while keeping the main charts focused on newer releases. Without this, it becomes increasingly difficult for new artists to break through—which is already happening—unlike in the 1990s and 2000s, when fresh acts were entering the charts every week. A chart revamp like this would give emerging artists a fairer platform for exposure and help ensure the charts better reflect the current musical era.
  14. Older songs and albums are lingering on the UK charts for years, which many feel is making the charts stale and boring. Should there be a recurring-chart rule where singles older than 50 weeks and albums older than 100 weeks are removed from the main charts and placed into a separate recurrent chart? This would also apply to Christmas music, where only newly released songs would be eligible for the main chart. What do you think, would this improve the charts or create confusion ?

Why only Radio 1? Radio 2 has plenty of strong playlists as well, and in the streaming era, lead singles from high-charting albums should be included regardless of whether the singles themselves charted.

Radio 2 artists are the best, the negative reviews were definitely not because of the older artists it was because they were pushing the same forgettable songs on Now, most people who buy/stream Now are older than the general crowd therefore some Radio 2 artists would help push sales up…

Whether you like Xmas or not, its a modern day Christmas classic and deservedly so…
  21. Its so surprising given it didnt chart there when it first came out in 1994

The charts should reflect whats popular at any given time, even if its a 50 year old song, if people are streaming it then it should chart…

It wasnt her best performance, i was there, she only performed for 35-40 mn max , did the same songs that she always does + 2 Xmas songs, and by the second song Santa Baby, most of the attendees have left especially the younger crowd, i guess that type of festival isnt for her demographic…
