i’m going off the independent artist approach where you have to upload your music, but i’m guessing major labels reach out with the song for their artists

tloas has radio 1 plays? but with radio 1 you can track on last fm proper, so it’s weird dead dance didnt show on heart’s online radio box listings for today, however it’s absolutely off the playlist as signalled by yesterday and probably just got a stray play no it wasn’t that. it probably just didn’t pick up 🤷

online radio box says no plays for today or yesterday, you sure it was heart? edit; infact dead dance was pulled on thursday

i guess the difference we’re seeing is some songs are typically big campaign singles and then there’s radio singles, songs that only get shipped to radio but with no big push behind them. That would make a LOT more sense especially for artists like Taylor or Sabrina or Beyoncé (Jolene for example). Cause they still have to be sent to these stations in order for them to pick them up which would allow them to be “radio singles” tho most of them don’t have these big campaigns behind them

October with Fate of Ophelia* also side note: ‘The Dead Dance’ has now been removed proper from Heart, very early pull for this one considering there’s songs that have been on the playlist for well over a year at this point with one coming up on 2 years playlisted 😭. it really depends. With big artists it’s so iffy to tell, but i guess if you look at all of the mentioned songs on Online Radio Box you could tell they are on city-based radio stations, which definitely indicates a push

maybe, but capital where quick on it and rinsed it so i highly doubt it wasn’t sent to them. It’s such a weird case. It’s easy to understand why radio 1 would skip on ‘Juno’ but this one is so weird. Especially cos the BBC is the only one now adding ‘Such A Funny Way’ while Global and Kiss have added ‘House Tour’ so it’s just super weird… and then there’s capital buzz with ‘Nobody's Son’

maybe not here, but we know WDYGH? was sent to american radio (after album) which could indicate global release, tho the UK was on it earlier so i’m not 100% sure. My only guess is cos it was played a lot in the album week her team thought they didn’t have to re-send it since they already got approval to play it? it’s definitely a weird case of a song being skipped

hi piran! I can’t imagine ‘Girl, Get Up’ or ‘Berghain’ going anywhere in the future, but keep an eye on ‘Golden’ 😉 LUX is definitely the first of many album bombs on the way and i can say some of those songs may get big in a couple weeks thank you for the comment!
