  1. Thanks for letting me in the show as usual tonight, shall we do it same time next week? Think so.. whatever you do tonight, have a nice night! (lead into 5:45 Newsbeat bulletin)
  2. It was a rather tight race of the former number ones this week, super close.. but nobody expected Raye and Dave and TEMS to battle it out for number one this week.
  3. Two records left to go...
  4. Strange how with The Fate of Ophelia and Aperture at 5 and 4, we have the situation where one of Harry's former lovers and one of Taylor's former lovers are beside each other in the Top 5..
  5. Not bad, chart success wise, for an album that was rather mixed with the critics and/or listeners. Gives new meaning to the phrase "(placeholder) can record some random garbage sound like power drill sounds and because he/she is super massive, it will stick around in the chart for ages".
  6. Of course, adult contemporary or middle-of-the-road music.. I'd be more likely to go with the latter.
  7. Adult contemporary is very much alive and well - thanks to Man I Need and Ordinary still dominating their radio airwaves...
  8. God I'm back in the terrible doldrums of being 15 again for much of 2016 thanks to Lush Life...
  9. The latter more accurately, Billboard being in a dispute with YouTube, in turn resulting the latter not sending data. YouTube has stated it is open to returning to Billboard charts in the future if a fairer system is agreed upon, but until then, the data is excluded.
  10. Noah Kahan's all gone Sam Fender with this number ten new entry...
  11. This and the Ella Langley new entry earlier in the Top 40 this week are in a big race for number one in America right now, not unless Opalite by Taylor Swift has something to say about it (benefitting greatly from the new Billboard chart rules that disqualify YouTube video streams, in favour of those on the likes of Spotify Premium and Apple Music).
  12. The last point is true. But I am also referring to how personally, I'm confused at how this would be the equivalent of the Most Wanted Song on the Komar/Melamid People's Choice Music survey today.
  13. The version of Stateside at number 13 being played is the original version, with a more aggressive drum loop.
  14. Shouldn't Ordinary be technically ineligible to chart now, and be deleted from chart eligibility? It's a rather forgettable song that didn't deserve this success. If Komar and Melamid were doing the People's Choice Music survey this time around, this song would be the template for The Most Wanted Song.
  15. Now, a full year on from its' first appearance on the chart, this is the longest runner on the Top 40 this week.
