  1. 23 May 2010 also was a Big Weekend and the number one did get a mention.
  2. The festival highlights might come after the June 25th chart if the show goes ahead...
  3. The show is not going ahead, but the chart is still being published. Info will be found on Suedehead's commentary when it's published.
  4. To be fair, Suedehead is definitely going to at least keep us posted with the info in its' place. But still I'll see if they do a chart recap at the end of the 5pm slot on Big Weekend tomorrow...
  5. Has this been happening since like 2010 or more recently?
  6. Hear me out. Browsing BBC Sounds today and I found that for Friday 23rd May, due to Big Weekend this year occupying the schedule, I'm sure the chart show is not going ahead as planned. If so, it's the second time this year it has happened, since March. I honestly think it could just be a recap and a play of the number one single before 5.45..
  7. And to me, it also means just average - as in "it's not good, not bad, but it'll suffice" - just half and half. Think of it like a 3.5 to 6.5 score rating out of 10.
  8. And TYIB was only ever really the pre-Christmas chart topper, the week before (13/12/1998) the Christmas 1998 chart. In a sense, it's more of a warm-up for what was to come later on.

To be fair in my opinion, the reason Heart doesn't add songs to the playlist until after their pop chart peak is because A) they're an adult contemporary station targeting an adult contemporary audience and B) the general public listening to Heart don't know about those songs properly to care about how old or recent it is - they just think it's good background fodder to hum along to, because it's catchy - at least to the audience Heart caters to.
  10. Seeing BBC Sounds right now for Friday 18th April and I found that the chart show will run from 4 to 6pm (two hours) and James Cusack is going to be in for Jack Saunders that week. I can understand due to it being Good Friday and all that.. ..but let's just say if it was 1997 or 1998, it would be like if Mark Goodier took Easter off and Clive Warren would have to deputise for him, even if that didn't really happen!
  11. To be fair, there was a lot of heavy publicity for the marathon but still every little penny counts as it's for Comic Relief. @JosephBoone will be locking the chart thread down for now until further notice.
  12. Thanks for that info! I'll just hot down the info myself.
  13. I was just scanning through Radio 1 today and I heard the announcement due to the marathon for Comic Relief, the Top 40 show with Jack Saunders may be cancelled or delayed. But I do know that the chart itself will be published. Can anyone help confirm this?
