  1. .. albeit hopefully shortened
  2. That's what I'm attempting to say @chartjack2
  3. Wouldn't be surprised!
  4. "29, Sign of the Times, Harry Styles. And now.. the news."
  5. As we approach the year 2000 on the TOTP repeats, Silva Bumpa sampled Montell Jordan's 2000 track to get a Top 30 hit.
  6. But... You can't blame us. Blame the public who stream this. Streaming is the majority for this. Extending chart runs and making artists more known for songs that don't even fit them. As for Ordinary, it's not the song's fault it's awful, it's just overplay.
  7. See why I had to facepalm? One slog moving into an extremely dull song!
  8. Now we're getting gloomy, Bella Kay being foreshadowing to the forthcoming YSPSFAGSIL domination.
  9. I dunno to answer your question @chartjack2
  10. Oof... Talk about Self Aware being the ghost of Tree lingering in sonics despite not being involved in it.
  11. Of course on Radio 1, they originally replaced the Jonathan Pearce commentary with relevant commentary from Five Live commentators Mike Ingham and Alan Green.
  12. ..alongside the album The Beautiful Game, and a truckload of England supporting or adjacent hits for Euro 96 like England's Irie!
  13. And so it begins... If you've held onto your 1996 cassettes, you'll see what I mean.
  14. Absolutely - impressively, England's anthem for the tournament in 2010 ("Shout", a rework of the Tears for Fears hit) got to number one, impressive for a then new football anthem in 2010.
  15. We of course now have the anthem for the South African tournament from 2010 first.
  16. Not recording today BTW because my DVD recorder just gave a disc error. Interestingly, I transferred a tape of one of the weeks that song was originally on the Top 40 - that being the 27th July 1997.
  17. Just a slip of the tongue!
  18. Of course it came back to the chart in a remix in 1988, but also Cleopatra took their cover version to Number 4 in August 1998.
  19. Starting in 1969 now...
  20. For the Walt Disney Records label, yes - it's not like Disney adjacent tunes have been number one before; remember Suspicious Minds by Gareth Gates in 2002 for the UK release of the film Lilo and Stitch?
  21. Just two more records to go, one new entry and one long runner...
  22. I'm absolutely sure the album bomb of You Seem Pretty Sad... is definitely going to flood the chart next week.
  23. Of course combined it's a non-consecutive Top 10 long runner...
  24. Of course Dracula will be part of Halloween playlists in years to come.. due to the hook and title.
