So two records left to go... Tame Impala and Sam Fender and Olivia Dean. Who's to be the record that's runner up? We're about to find out..

It's because I've got great research and Mixcloud recordings to thank.

If they really wanted, they could've played Billie Jean off vinyl through a 7" single.. to give it those 80s effect and introduce it via the JAM jingles!

Of course when Billie Jean was number one and first chatted, the late great Tommy Vance hosted this show.

Well, this one's gonna make my mother happy.

Now we're jumping through the Top 5 supermassive in ways never thought possible. In the Mark Goodier time, this would lead after number two, to the complete rundown.

If Minaj never gets into the Top 40 again, this will be a better final Top 40 hit because it was from her big peak years.

It had to take four months to firmly be a top ten hit, also aided by her being a big part of the Big Weekend lineup.

..which of course will keep continuing to add more to its total each and every year.

So phew, Jack IS doing the albums pretty soon - he just had to wait for the iron to strike. But if you remember listening to the chart in the Greg James era like me, then he did the album chart during the Top 10!

We're breezing through the chart super quick this week!

See, that's the late Eddie Van Halen on the solo!

Well, that's the late Eddie Van Halen doing the shredding solo!

So there's another Weird Al Yankovic connection... Eat It being a US number 12 hit and a UK number 38 hit!

Fair point.

It's possible that the album chart is dominated by nonce and political act so it makes sense they'd not run it down.

I was about to ask that, but I think it has something to do with the thought of the excitement Saunders has had with the singles! And maybe it's because Kneecap are among the big albums in the album chart.

I think Jack was too excited about the singles this week, and filicky!

In goes the skipping of the Jackson tracks!

Of course they're going to announce the Top 5 albums soon, but first we've got 17 to play..

See above comments prior - yes, in a pivotal dance sequence.

Stick around for the top five albums chart...

Of course I'm digging "Go" - it would've fit the Mark Goodier/Wes/JK and Joel eras of the Top 40 shows

Prospa sound too clean for the old XL Recordings or FFRR/Manifesto.

Of course this Malcolm Todd chart appearance is trying to ride the waves of Steve Lacy and just nicks the Extra extra bit from Headlines by Five Star.
