What with this forum updated live as we go in the chat board, and Jack being visible on the camera in the Radio 1 studio on the live feed on the BBC News live stream, are we in the Wes era of the chart show here - Wes cam, chart chatroom, live chart updated in real time with the broadcast...

Preparing for the chart and it's unusual to hear the normal 1-3 show before the chart instead of the hour long party anthems. At least in my recording lifetime.

Honestly this is the first Christmas I've spent on Buzzjack and I've never seen the Christmas chart threads in real time before.. having started joining in March.

It's more likely the latter, still finishes at 5:45 as usual. So prepare your recording gear earlier than usual!

Now my cassette and CD R of this is definitely going to fill up to the fullest! Also it's going to be live streamed on the BBC News app and website so you can see Jack on what we used to call the chart cam!

But will they play ALL 40 songs to accommodate for this runtime?

Heads up: the Buzzjack Friday Christmas chart show thread has to start earlier than usual to accommodate for the 3pm start time on Radio 1 tomorrow.

Eleven non-consecutive weeks in total.. for Wham at the top.

And number 3 in the UK in this chart run though, even if it was a UK number one single in December 2020 and 2022.

At least in the 2025 chart run is what Jack's referring to.

For next week, the calculus I hope to have for my equipment is a 90 minute cassette and a 80 minute audio CD-R for the Xmas chart to accommodate the Xmas chart time slot from 3pm to 5:45pm! Fair point.

Even "you cheap lousy f***ot" is replaced with "you're cheap and you're haggard", sourced from the Top of the Pops performance from 2nd January 1992.

In comes the censored version... At least I know of the original which was played uncensored on the Top 40 for years!

Which of course Jack will have to get the producer to make a new contenders link...

..but don't rule The Fate of Ophelia out from returning to the top 10 in the New Year as part of the clearout!

At least standard ACR caught The Fate of Ophelia.

Shame that Laufey's normal tracks never get good chart action compared to her holiday efforts. I do think that she deserves a bit better in chart history.

Is it me or does Radio 1 have a super strange edit of it usually? This week the proper full thing is being played.

Not bad for Sienna Spiro currently - she's also got a big ad campaign for Gap in conjunction with this single's chart success.
