More old rubbish, might give up listening to the chart if it's this stale. Have they played anything released in 2026 yet?

I disagree, just ban old songs.

First time listen to the chart in a while and I don't remember it being this dead and full of old rubbish last time. They need to bring in recurrent rules - i.e no songs over 3 years old or something.

To be honest, they could move the whole chart to Radio 2 and it wouldn't seem out of place it's that full of old rubbish and generic rubbish new songs that Radio 2 would play.

Songs are shorter these days, you could easily fit the 40 in the 2hrs 45 mins without newsbeat - they used to have plenty of filler features when it was 3 hours on a Sunday.

They can't, it's part of their public service broadcaster remit.

I'd extend it as 4pm-7pm with newsbeat remaining in place as a break in the show. Back in the good old days the dance shows start at 7pm after the drive time show so it would be a return to that..

You'd have thought they'd have took the opportunity to extend the official chart now that they've extended First Look, but it seems common sense is in short supply at the BBC. Nothing new there.

Calum Scott's version is the better version. Anyway, this chart is beyond stale.
