  1. Yes they did get reset but I wonder if a manual reset could happen or if TikTok clips of the show will thrust a new favourite out there that could get reset I definitely think their streams will surge when it starts wb4.7 abd in particular on the weeks following when they are doing many dates throughout Manchester and London
  2. I wonder if they would reset any Oasis songs when the tour kicks off. I can see them getting decent boosts
  3. Jessie J and Jess Glynne maybe? They each had their first 2 huge hits within a few weeks of each other

There was a time that people said YouTube is very different platform than iTunes too but eventually it became almost difficult to ignore I’m not saying that TikTok should be included yet but if the charts are designed to reflect the popular songs of the moment, regardless of how they are consumed or how much money was used to consume it, then I don’t think it’s unreasonable to think that there could a time and place when TikTok is incorporated some how What happened to the idea of a TikTok music streaming service? With regards to music videos, if they are becoming too expensive to make traditionally, I’d much rather have a live performance style video than just a lyric video. Something like When We Were Young by Adele for example
  5. Brutal by Olivia Rodrigo ?
  6. I wish Ordinary was heading to ACR sooner but at this rate it might actually stay at number 1 even on ACR, or be replaced at the top by something even older.
  7. Good For You was her 4th chart hit and didn’t debut at number 1. Her first chart hit All I Want reached the top 100 in 2020 before Drivers License debuted at number 1 in 2021. There is an argument for Olivia Rodrigo counting for this achievement though as this was her first proper single, whereas All I Want was from the soundtrack of High School Musical
  8. Of course but those weren’t their debut singles/first chart hits though which is what this thread is about.
  9. Artists debuting at number 1 with their first ever single in the UK charts became quite common in the late 1990s to early 2010s (eg Westlife, Britney, most X Factor/Popstars/Pop Idol winners, Olly Murs, One Direction, Tinie Tempah, The Wanted, B-Witched, Billie Piper etc) However, with singles no longer being held back during promotion, streaming overtaking sales and songs growing in popularity over time due to TikTok exposure, this has now become a rare occurrence In the 2020s so far, I think it’s only Sir Tom Moore who can claim that (unless I’m mistaken) and before that, you’d have to go as far back as Ladbaby’s first hit. Many popular artists nowadays build up their following over time with quieter releases rather than coming strong out the gate. Even group stars going solo (like Zayn and Harry) seems unlikely in the future too as there are far fewer groups and bands in the charts too Any thoughts?

If I remember correctly I Wish I Was A Punk Rocker, Since U Been Gone and Waka Waka (This Time For Africa) were all snubbed at the time of release, even though it could be argued there is a Radio 1 audience appeal for these songs. I think Now You’re Gone by Basshunter too, at least initially
  11. Wow this is BAD.
  12. I’ve seen quite a few TikToks this week of Hard Times in a trend of teenage garage bands playing covers of it https://vm.tiktok.com/ZNdeNTf9M/
  13. Maybe something reset after the Brit Awards could get to number 1 next week, assuming there is no big release. Messy, perhaps?
  14. Tinie Tempah - R Kelly (Not Letting Go) Kanye - Prince (Stronger) Estelle & Kanye - Michael Jackson (American Boy)
  15. Eminem definitely has quite a few Without Me: Elvis Presley, Prince, Limp Bizkit Real Slim Shady: Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Fred Durst (Limp Bizkit) Like Toy Soldiers: Jay-Z Stan: Phil Collins Houdini: R Kelly, Black Eyed Peas, Megan The Stallion Smack That: Pussycat Dolls Just Lose It: Michael Jackson
  16. As it looks like That’s So True is heading back to the top, a more interesting question might be: What will the first NEW number 1 of 2025 be?

If we are talking about under performing songs, Headlines by Spice Girls is definitely a memorable one
  18. I’d love that too. I think it’s pretty unlikely though unless NYE streams can be kind to APT

The Lil Nas X one from last January?
  20. I wonder if they will combine sales/streams of this to the original. The track listing makes it look like this is a remix of a previous version, rather than a new version. Perhaps it might even trigger a reset of the original too?
  21. There’s no way it’s getting anywhere close to 20k. I’d be amazed if it even did 2k
  22. In August, Bob Geldof suggested there was a new version combining the previous versions for the 40th anniversary. Presumably it is hard to get new, current acts to sign up to a new version after the backlash to the previous one https://www.westendtheatre.com/252371/news/...d-and-live-aid/
  23. The George Ezra song on the track list says that too and that has already been released on other services
  24. Jess Glynne was added to Spotify last year
