  1. Could the label request for Espresso and Please Please Please to not be reset if it looked like they might prevent Taste from adding another number 1 to her collection?

I don’t regularly listen to Radio 1 anymore but whenever I do put it on, all I ever hear the presenters say is “send a WhatsApp and let me know what you’re up to today /this weekend” and then it’s just endless shoutouts, even during the chart, midweeks, 00s/2010s show, Anthems. I just don’t understand how anyone finds that interesting or entertaining to listen to? In the battle against streaming services you’d think radio stations would be upping their game to provide content worth listening to. I only listen during weekends really so maybe week days are different but has anyone else noticed this?
  4. Yeah this would be a great number 1 to follow Guess
  5. Of course streaming should be included but I’m not sure if EVERY single time you stream something it should count. I wonder what the chart would be like if streams stopped being counted by an individual after (for example) 10 plays of each song on each platform. Eg Mr Brightside - you can stream it 10 times on Spotify (however long that takes you to do naturally, whether in a day, a week or over the course of 5 years) but as soon as you’ve hit 10 streams, no further Spotify streams will count towards the chart. However, as each platform would have their own data, you’d have 10 streams on Apple, YouTube etc as well but I assume most people have only 1 or 2 main platforms they use consistently I’m sure it’s not impossible to get data like that I would also be in favour of a tiered SCR/ACR system.
  6. Maybe 1 more reset next month around Taylor’s London shows?
  7. Whatever happened to the TikTok Music streaming service. I was intrigued whether that could inject some life to the charts (for better or worse)
  8. Too early to call Stick Season the year end number 1?
  9. I’m not sure as Spotify and Apple probably won’t playlist it as it has been an Amazon exclusive and Amazon probably won’t push it as much as irs no longer an exclusive to them. It will probably get good radio airplay though
  10. There were rumours of something Christmassy coming from Taylor. Maybe her Christmas EP (Taylor’s Version). If true, something from that could be a contender

I wish they had combined the Taylor’s versions with the originals for this list
  12. Finally someone said it  I’ve often wondered this, so bizarre
  13. It would be interesting to choose random chart weeks from previous years to compare how many songs of those top 40s have samples too
  14. Yep I’m the same, never heard it either. It’s bizarre to have 10 week number ones with so little impact on the general public nowadays

Olivia Rodrigo should bring her CDs and cassettes forward

Out of all the rules they could choose to change, they choose to work against the only thing that makes the singles chart vaguely exciting

I’ve definitely never even heard of Lovely. Bad Guy on the other hand was unavoidable
  18. That’s not really a fair comparison though as Westlifes popularity peak was far behind them by the time Hello My Love came out. They are now aimed at a much older audience. . Streaming doesn’t support Boy bands now because they simply aren’t “in” right now but late nineties and early noughties were the peak boyband phase. Kids and teenagers of the late nineties would have been streaming Westlife during their peak of 1999 to 2001 I’m sure One Direction would have had a few big streaming hits if streaming had kicked in properly a bit earlier
  19. This came on my Spotify DJ. Some bits remind me of ET by Katy Perry and another bit reminds me of Walk Away by Four of Diamonds
  20. Does this sample From Paris To Berlin or just some similarities?
  21. Yes I thought it was just me but glad someone else noticed

Intrigued to try this but I have a feeling my 6yo sons listening habits whilst on my account will not quite give me the listening experience I desire!
  23. Olivia Rodrigo has hinted for 30th June

Looking at the time on that screen, could it be linked to 2:22 A Ghost Story??

It’s just a dodgy link on the forum, try directly from the official chart website page
