Worst iTunes #1 in a very long time

I like the idea, but what puts me off buying one is that it's actually cheaper per track to buy the entire 'normal edition' of the album. In the example of Doll Domination, I like all 6 tracks on the Mini version but I could get 18 tracks for just £2 more (including good ones like Elevator, Halo and Love The Way You Love Me). I'd just delete them from my mp3 player or burn a new shorter disc if I wanted to.

Is the idea to create a playlist of marathon-y type songs or is it aimed at a particular person (ie. should we consider one person's taste in music?)

I don't think anyone would buy it twice. The club mix sounds the same as the radio edit, it's just longer

Well it seems to me that the whole point of the show is to let listeners engage with the chart and affect it there and then. Therefore one should hope that the producers creative an effective enough show for this to get across. The general public may be influenced to buy a song that they like if they can get 'carried away' with the show. I'm sure that's what they are hoping for anway.

It will be interesting to see how this pans out. Of course, although the article says that the official chart won't be affected by this, it will be indirectly affected. If the new show encourages listeners to download the songs in the top 10 from iTunes to change the chart at the last minute this will have a knock-on affect on the official chart the following week. Maybe sales will get a further boost?

Yeah, Radio 1 definately played it quite a few times. Obviously all the chart shows on the music channels will mean his video will get lots of plays.
