Me too. I stopped following when Savage Love was number 1 and only revisited them over Christmas just out of curiosity to see if I missed much. Head & Heart, WAP and Positions were all obvious huge hits that were everywhere so no surprises they were long running number 1s. Hadn’t heard Mood or Lemonade but not missing much based on the clips I listened to on Boxing Day. And I saw on sky news that Mariah finally made it. I was pleasantly surprised to see Looking For Me did quite well and Tate McCrae was a nice discovery but it doesn’t seem like I missed out. I will find out what happens with Mariah vs Wham vs Jess on NYD but then i can see myself leaving it for another year and see if things have improved by next Christmas

Are these lists available to read anywhere? I’d like to have a browse

I wonder what a chart of songs released in 2001 would like, taking into account streams and downloads for an overall total

Could you not just post it now instead?
  5. Wow, I think that singles chart is quite possibly the worst one ever. About 15 decent songs from the top 100 and most of them feel ancient now

    Capital played Smile today too
  7. Interesting that they talk about Steps as being on Disc 2 of Now 105 when of course they are not. I wonder if they were supposed to be on the original version, before covid19 put a halt to both Steps new material and Now 105
  8. Remember when they tried to recreate that with God Only Knows a few years ago?

Probably not. But the “newsworthy” number 1s (like this one or something like 3 Lions) are probably good for small talk chit chat and therefore it’s no surprise media outlets would rather report a chart that’s more quick to react. Eg “Did you hear that 3 Lions is number 1 in the [big top 40] chart?” when it’s actually at its most popular is probably better than “Did you hear that 3 Lions may get to number 1 at the end of the week [ie midweek number 1]” And is definitely better than “Did you hear that 3 Lions got to number 1 in the [official] charts today?” (almost a week after it’s peak sales, and it’s actual *moment* has passed)

I think it’s number 1 on the Big Top 40 which, although not official, is a more popular chart show. The general public don’t care if it’s the real chart or not
  11. Now 105 and Now 5 postponed confirmed
  12. Now 105 has been postponed, along with the Now 5 re-release
  13. Still fishy that Mariah only had about a third of Whams video views (700k to 2.2m) when all the data available throughout the week puts Mariah ahead. We already knew that the Jukebox Heaven error wouldn't put her ahead

And some of those were added this afternoon after the chart leaked online
  16. Ellie has 78,000 sales so probably close

Seeing everyone on LadBaby’s Facebook showing that they have pre-ordered makes me think he may have this in the bag already
  18. Stormzy was only going to show himself as a contender after the album release though

I got Ellie at 25/1 this morning but then noticed Lad Baby are back

I’ve got money on Stormzy and Ellie too. Surely LadBaby won’t do it again?
  21. Also, the song credits on Spotify list Naughty Boy as the producer of It Must Have Been Love, whereas all the ones tagged with X Factor Recording have nothing listed under the producer subheading
  22. I went to see this on the day it opened in the West End last Saturday and it’s honestly the best show I’ve seen. It’s really funny and uplifting. I nervously met Max Martin there too as he was in the audience. He agreed to a photo with me
  23. Jess Glynne & Clean Bandit
  24. Definitely. And when you view song credits, you should be able to click on writer/producer to find other songs by them
  25. This is mine (not in any order so shuffle play recommended) https://open.spotify.com/playlist/5ifYQEzyP...hTnuQy9E6Ey_rPg
