Miley Earns First Billboard 200 No. 1 in More Than a Decade With ‘Bass Persuades’ By Keith Caulfield | 9/28/2026 Miley earns her first No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 chart in more than a decade as Bass Persuades debuts atop the list dated Oct. 3. It launches with 61,000 equivalent album units earned in the United States in the week ending Sept. 24, according to Luminate. In total, it’s her sixth leader and 16th top 10-charted set. Miley (aka Miley Cyrus) last stopped the tally with Bangerz in 2013. Bass Persuades was announced Sept. 1 and dropped on Sept. 18. Its title track and first single was unveiled on Sept. 3. It debuted at No. 35 on the Billboard Hot 100 (dated Sept. 19), marking her 24th top 40 hit. The new set comes a little more than a year after her last studio project, Something Beautiful, which debuted and peaked at No. 4 on the June 14, 2025-dated Billboard 200. Also in the top 10 of the latest Billboard 200, Riley Green and beabadoobee score their first top 10s as their newest projects debut. The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums of the week in the U.S. based on multi-metric consumption as measured in equivalent album units, compiled by Luminate. Units comprise album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA). Each unit equals one album sale, or 10 individual tracks sold from an album, or 2,500 ad-supported or 1,000 paid/subscription on-demand official audio and video streams generated by songs from an album. Of Bass Persuades’ 61,000 first-week equivalent album units, album sales comprise 47,000 (it debuts at No. 1 on Top Album Sales), SEA units comprise 14,000 (equaling 14.22 million on-demand official streams of the set’s songs) and TEA units comprise a negligible sum. The set’s first-week sales were bolstered by its availability across 16 vinyl variants (one with a bonus track), nine CD variants (one with a bonus track), six download variants (most with bonus tracks) and a cassette. Miley last topped the Billboard 200 in October 2013 with Bangerz. Her six No. 1s and 16 top 10s encompass her work billed as Miley and Miley Cyrus, alongside her soundtrack albums as Disney character Hannah Montana. Miley is the third act in 2026 to wait at least 10 years for their latest No. 1, following Bruno Mars and A$AP Rocky. Mars returned to No. 1 on the March 14 chart with the debut of The Romantic, 13 years after he was last on top with Unorthodox Jukebox in March 2013. A$AP Rocky debuted at No. 1 on the Jan. 31-dated chart with Don’t Be Dumb, a little more than 10 years and six months after he was last No. 1, with At.Long.Last.A$AP in June 2015. Ella Langley’s chart-topping Dandelion holds at No. 2 on the latest Billboard 200 with nearly 61,000 equivalent album units (up 1%). Of that sum, album sales comprise 29,000 (his best sales week; it debuts at No. 2 on Top Album Sales), SEA units comprise 30,000 (equaling 30.89 million on-demand official streams of the set’s songs, it debuts at No. 10 on Top Streaming Albums), and TEA units comprise 1,000. The album’s first-week sales were boosted by its availability across 13 vinyl and CD variants (some with bonus tracks), two download editions (one with a bonus track) and a cassette. The new full-length studio project was preceded by the single “Think as You Drunk,” which holds at its No. 11 high on the latest Country Airplay chart. That’s Just Me follows the country singer-songwriter’s last full-length set, Don’t Me If I Do, which debuted and peaked at No. 25 in 2024 and has spent 99 weeks on the list. The latter spun off three top-two hits on the Country Airplay chart, including the No. 1s “Worst Way” and “Don’t Mind If Do,” both of which reached the top 25 on the all-genre Billboard Hot 100. Rounding out the rest of the top 10 on the latest Billboard 200: Jhené Aiko’s Westside Whimsy falls 1-8 in its second week with 35,000 equivalent album units earned (down 53%), Drake’s former leader ICEMAN drops 6-9 (nearly 35,000 units, down 2%) and Noah Kahan’s Stick Season is steady at No. 10 (34,000, up 3%).
