Nooo, he just means the first half of the tracklist sounds different from the second half. I read that as the first half having the atmosphere of BBHMM and the second half having the atmosphere of FourFiveSeconds (despite neither of those being on the album).Wait a minute...Source: http://www.cleveland.com/entertainment/ind..._bold_forc.html
"first half"? does this person know some information we don't? not getting my hopes up as i am more than content with having possibly her best album yet given to us today but imagine if she drops another album too :drama:

Panic! at the Disco Earns First No. 1 Album on Billboard 200 Chart
1/24/2016 by Keith Caulfield
Panic! at the Disco scores its first No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 chart with Death of a Bachelor. The set, which was released on Jan. 15 through DCD2/Fueled By Ramen, debuts atop the chart with 190,000 equivalent album units earned in the week ending Jan. 22, according to Nielsen Music.
The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums of the week based on multi-metric consumption, which includes traditional album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA). The new Feb. 6, 2016-dated chart (where Panic! debuts at No. 1) will be posted in full to Billboard’s websites on Tuesday, Jan. 26.
Death of a Bachelor also earns Panic! at the Disco its best sales week yet for an album, as it sold 169,000 in pure album sales. It surpasses the act’s previous high, logged when Pretty.Odd. bowed at No. 2 with 139,000 sold in the week ending March 30, 2008.
Death of a Bachelor is Panic!’s fifth charting album, and follows Too Weird To Live, Too Rare To Die! (No. 2 debut and peak in 2013), Vices & Virtues (No. 7 in 2011), Pretty. Odd., and their debut, A Fever You Can’t Sweat Out (No. 13 peak in 2006 after debuting at No. 112 in 2005).
Panic! at the Disco’s first No. 1 album comes a little more than 10 years after the act made its chart debut with A Fever You Can’t Sweat Out on the list dated Oct. 15, 2005.
Notably, Death’s sales start greatly outpaces the launch of Panic!’s last album, Too Weird To Live, Too Rare To Die! The latter started with 84,000, and has so far sold 407,000.
The new album has already logged five top 15-charting hits on the Hot Rock Songs chart: “Hallelujah” (which peaked at No. 3 way back in May of 2015), “Victorious” (No. 7) and “Emperor’s New Clothes” (No. 5), “LA Devotee” (No. 15) and “Don’t Threaten Me With a Good Time” (No. 10).
Below Death of a Bachelor, Adele’s 25 stays steady at No. 2 with 147,000 units (up 3 percent), while Justin Bieber’s Purpose is also a non-mover at No. 3 with 91,000 units (down 12 percent). David Bowie’s Blackstar slips 1-4 with 90,000 units (down 50 percent) in its second week. And Twenty One Pilots’ Blurryface is stationary at No. 5 with 45,000 units (up 5 percent).
The latest Kidz Bop Kids album, Kidz Bop 31, bows at No. 6 with 45,000 units (mostly from pure album sales: 43,000). It’s the 24th top 10 album for the series, and clocks the best sales week for the series in year. The last Kidz Bop album to collect a larger sales frame was Kidz Bop 27, which entered with 78,000 sold in January 2015. Following that album, Kidz Bop 28, 29 and 30 launched with 39,000; 36,000 and 27,000; respectively.
Rounding out the top 10 are Bowie’s Best of Bowie (4-7 with 43,000 units; down 54 percent), Chris Stapleton’s Traveller (7-8 with 41,000 units; up 25 percent thanks to exposure from his performances on the Jan. 16 edition of NBC’s Saturday Night Live), The Weeknd’s Beauty Behind the Madness (6-9 with 34,000 units; down 13 percent) and Bryson Tiller’s Trapsoul (8-10 with 31,000 units; down 5 percent).

On the most recent Billboard 200 chart (dated Feb. 6), Panic! at the Disco scored its first No. 1 with Death of a Bachelor. The set started with 190,000 equivalent album units earned in the week ending Jan. 21, according to Nielsen Music, with 169,000 of that sum in pure album sales.
The Billboard 200 chart ranks the week’s most popular albums based on their overall consumption. That overall unit figure combines pure album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA).
Now, let’s take a closer look at some of the action on the latest Billboard 200 chart:
-- Kidz Bop Kids, Kidz Bop 31 - No. 6: The debut marks the 45th charting effort for the Kidz Bop Kids series, and 23rd top 10 (it enters with 45,000 equivalent album units). Over on the Kid Albums chart, the set marks the brand’s 33rd No. 1 with its chart-topping arrival.
-- Eagles, Their Greatest Hits 1971-1975 - No. 11: Following the death of Glenn Frey on Jan. 18, fans remembered him with his music. His albums and songs -- solo and with his band the Eagles -- surged in popularity in the latest chart tracking week.
Eagles’ catalog of albums notch a huge sales gain: 501 percent in the week ending Jan. 21, according to Nielsen Music (rising to 52,000 sold), led by Their Greatest Hits 1971-1975 (21,000; up 479 percent). The album vaults 113-11 on the Billboard 200 with 31,000 units (up 498 percent) to its highest rank since May 22, 1976 (the same year the album spent five weeks at No. 1).
Eagles’ total song sales climbed 684 percent for the week (to 153,000 downloads), while on-demand streams (both audio and video) rose by 303 percent (to 12.2 million). As for Frey’s solo albums, they sold 6,000 (up 9,111 percent) while his digital song sales numbered 39,000 (up 4,823 percent). Frey’s greatest hits album Solo Collection, released in 1995, debuts on the Billboard 200 at No. 82 (7,000 equivalent album units) -- his first visit to the chart since 2012 and highest-ranking set since 1988.
Frey’s on-demand streams jumped to 3 million (up 3,265 percent). His 1985 No. 2 Billboard Hot 100 hit “You Belong to the City” gathered most of those clicks: 616,000.
-- Hank Williams Jr., It’s About Time - No. 15: Country veteran Hank Williams Jr. rides in to a No. 15 debut on the Billboard 200 with It’s About Time -- the entertainer’s 38th charting effort. It bows with 25,000 equivalent album units earned and gives Williams his fifth top 40-charting set. Four of his top 40 efforts have been released since 2006, while his first top 40 title was also his chart debut: the 1965 soundtrack to the film about his father’s life, Your Cheatin’ Heart (No. 16 peak). Hank Jr. performed the music heard in the film, while George Hamilton played Hank Sr. The new album is Williams’ first for Nash Icon and the Big Machine Label Group, and launches with 24,000 in pure album sales. It also bows at No. 8 on the Top Album Sales chart.
-- Soundtrack, Straight Outta Compton - No. 46 & Dr. Dre, Compton: As the soundtrack to the hit biopic Straight Outta Compton dips 39-46 in its second chart week (12,000 units; though up 7 percent), one of the movie’s subjects, Dr. Dre, collects his third half-million-selling album with Compton. The latter sells another 2,000 copies in the week ending Jan. 21, bringing its cumulative sales total to nearly 502,000. Dre’s two studios albums, The Chronic and Dr. Dre -- 2001, have sold 5.8 million and 7.9 million, respectively.
-- Madonna, The Immaculate Collection - No. 49: Thanks to a 99-cent sale on a number of albums in the Google Play store, a bevy of big names see large gains on The Billboard 200 -- among them, Madonna’s The Immaculate Collection. The diva’s first greatest hits album jumps 167-49 with 11,000 equivalent album units (up 167 percent) and 10,000 copies sold (up 321 percent). This is the highest rank for The Immaculate Collection since the Sept. 14, 1991-dated chart, when it was No. 47. The album, released in late 1990, peaked at No. 2 for two weeks in early 1991.
Other gains owed to the 99-cent sale include: Phil Collins’ …Hits (183-38 with 14,000 units; up 258 percent and 13,000 sold; up 462 percent), The Cars’ The Complete Greatest Hits (a re-entry at No. 61 with 9,000 units; up 258 percent and 8,000 sold; up 376 percent), Alanis Morissette’s Jagged Little Pill (a re-entry at No. 71 with 8,000 units; up 373 percent and 7,000 sold; up 599 percent) and Green Day’s Dookie (a re-entry at No. 98 with 6,000 units; up 93 percent and 5,000 sold; up 170 percent).
-- Celtic Woman, Destiny - No. 60 -- Vocal ensemble Celtic Woman notches its 11th charting effort on the Billboard 200 with the arrival of Destiny at No. 60 (9,000 equivalent album units earned in the week ending Jan. 21, according to Nielsen Music). Over on the World Albums chart, Destiny debuts at No. 1, giving the Irish group its 12th leader (out of 14 chart entries). They are one No. 1 away from tying the similarly-named (but all male) Celtic Thunder group for the most No. 1s in the chart’s 25-year history.

Thanks to those who voted for Doop! I actually anticipated the DNQ to an extent, I'm much more disappointed at Avalonia, Tartford, and The Actual Republic of Bellamia not going through, and extremely surprised at Triangledonia though I agree it's too identical to their previous entries.
You've been a great host so far Klumzee! :yahoo:

Seeing an Apple Watch commercial with "Running Behind" on it was a major *.*/:cheeseblock: moment for me.Has anyone had their entries played on TV after they were sent to BJSC?That's happened to me once with "Savages" :P
I heard Eden XO "Too Cool To Dance" at my student union about a year ago which is the best example I can think of, but it did get minimal airplay in the US so not too surprising.

Jonas Blue already has the highest-charting version of Fast Car, as Tracy Chapman's original peaked at #21 in 1988 and no other cover versions have charted.
Interestingly, Hands To Myself is already Selena Gomez's highest-charting single; her previous bests were Come & Get It and Good For You which both peaked at #14.

I ended up with three songs that I either decided not to include until later or just forgot about. I’m just going to rush through these so I can be done but here they are!
Cage The Elephant "Mess Around"
Cage The Elephant are (is?) still getting good airplay in the States, several years since their initial breakthrough. I did not think much of "Mess Around" at first but I like it now. Harry in particular should listen if he hasn’t yet. :magic:
Charlie Puth "One Call Away"
A major improvement from "Marvin Gaye", but just about anything would be. I’m very surprised and disappointed that "One Call Away" has missed the top 40 in the UK after following up a #1. In the US "Marvin Gaye" only reached #21 but this has snuck into the top 40 and could maybe outpeak it. I think that’s helping it stick around in the UK chart, particularly with streaming, and from now on we’ll probably see more songs get a second chance in this way if they become a hit in the States, although it’s been done before streaming with re-releases and such. That said, I really don’t think Charlie has what it takes to be a pop star and think he’s already had far more success than he deserves.
X Ambassadors "Unsteady"
http://i97.photobucket.com/albums/l219/Yoshi538/a2fd9b1e-2c39-4f2a-aa79-a5e36ec9ce2c.jpg
I like "Unsteady", which is X Ambassadors’ second single in the US, but it doesn’t hold a candle to "Renegades". If this is really the second-best song on X Ambassadors’ album, then I don’t think they’ll be doing as well as, say, Cage The Elephant are several years later.
I do hope to still do a proper countdown but I may not be able to start it for a few days. Please keep checking this thread and thanks for all the comments so far!!!

Yay, glad to hear!!!I only heard Renegades in full less than a week ago but I really like it! Muuuuch better than Jungle, didn't expect it to sound anything like it does either.I Want You To Know is fantastic  Not heard Beautiful Now, but Papercut is even better than IWYTK for me. Not just the Troye stan inside speaking, I promise! :kink:
I listened to Papercut once and I'm pretty sure I liked it but that's as much as I remember :kink:
-
Much love for your top 2  'MISS U' was a grower for me, I didn't point it in BJSC but SOMETHING about it made me keep it on my iPod until it became one of my belated faves from the contest you sent it to and definitely the entry of yours I've listened to most!
Run Away With Me is a moment just on its own, and (for me at least) multiplied by the moment of realizing that Carly's album really would live up to the hype, like the anticipation of something special turning into reality. You just can't help but feel proud of her for making it :snif: (and yes that is sax on the intro!)
-
Oh I just realized, massive cheers for Trouble not holding on to #1! :cheer: :heehee: It's really just that song, otherwise I haven't tired of Iggy by any means so I do hope she stands a chance with her future releases. The odds seem very much against her now. :(
Hold Me Up IS very John Newman-esque now that you mention it :o Even the lyrics, "need you now, need you right now" vs. "need to norgh nargh, norgh nargh" :kink:. It's a shame you missed out on hearing it get proper airplay and stuff, but it's wonderful to have a song you more or less discovered on your own that define your year so much more than anything that had loads and loads of exposure, it feels more personal that way although still frustrating to think of all the people that would like it but haven't heard it!
Anyway, job well done on this, enjoyed reading it and sharing some faves as always and seeing a little bit of my own impact via Sammi Sanchez and The Rocket Summer :D
-
Love Me Like You Do is too low. :( It slayed me so hard with its amaze flawlessness, especially the last chorus
, but did get old after a while. So relieved that's Ellie's biggest hit now as the thought of Burn being the song she's best known for was unsettling since the day it hit #1. I always associate LMLYD and Sugar together as being two modern ballads that were big around the same time, so it's cool to see them near each other on the countdown (I expect them to be even closer together on mine B-)).
Excellent write-ups for everything so far. I also really like Perfect, Cheerleader, and Should've Been Us and agree 100% on the remix of Bad Blood being way above and beyond the horrific :puke: original. The verses in particular were cringe-inducing so thank goodness they were all removed!!!

Zedd featuring Jon Bellion "Beautiful Now"
Zedd featuring Selena Gomez "I Want You To Know"
http://energyfm.es/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/tn-zedd-beautifulnow-2_0-300x300-300x300.jpg
I was excited for Zedd's return with new music, and curious to see if he had done enough over the past two years to properly establish himself. It turns out the answer is no, not quite, but the singles were nearly as good as those from his debut. I particularly liked "Beautiful Now" for not having a well-known artist on it, which worked well for him on "Clarity" but ever since he'd opted for more recognizable vocalists. It didn't work quite as well in this case, mostly due to Jon Bellion's voice not being very distinct IMO, but I loved the chanting in the chorus and thought the song as a whole sounded pretty amaze on the radio. So despite coming across as slightly generic I thought it was a nice summer single and would've liked it to see the top 40 at least.
This reminds me that I actually did enjoy Selena Gomez at one point in the past year. As a much bigger fan of dance-pop Selena than R&B-lite Selena, "I Want You To Know" was a huge breath of fresh air after her greatest hits single introduced a new sound that I've yet to connect with. For a short time I had hope that "The Heart Wants What It Wants" was just a one-off and this collab would be a return to form, but instead it was the other way around, this being a brief nod to the old (or should I say young) Selena leading into the Revival era and a full musical transition by the end of the year. Now that she's having more success than ever before, I don't expect her to go back anytime soon. </3

Doop "Tequila"
LXXXI: did not qualify
It turns out that having the most attention-grabbing entry of the contest--in terms of the artist anyway, none other than the iconic one-hit wonder Doop--is not always the big advantage you might expect it to be. "Tequila" didn't even get that close to the final, but it did boost its YouTube play count past the lowly 8,500 mark, and revive the campaign for a Doop forum on Buzzjack, so small victories, yeah? Anyway, this is the second straight contest where we expected a hit and were left disappointed, so we're gonna go back to sending whatever and lowering our expectations.

X Ambassadors "Renegades"
http://www.reviewstream.com/images_items/96LhXkwNW.jpg
X Ambassadors were not on my radar at all in terms of having a breakthrough hit or releasing their debut album. "Jungle" didn't impress me at all and it didn't hang around for long, so I was surprised to see them come back at all, let alone with something that sounded nothing like it. "Renegades" was love at first listen for me: a surprisingly uplifting song, especially when watching the video, which tells stories of people with various disabilities and shows them accomplishing things that would be impressive even for able-bodied folk.
In a promo opportunity that seemed almost too good to be true, in the US "Renegades" was used in commercials for the Jeep Renegade. Wikipedia says it was actually written with that intent, which I find very hard to believe just because I like it so much. How can a song meant strictly for product placement sound so...authentic? The TV exposure certainly helped but it's also succeeding on the strength of the song itself, judging by its good chart performance in other countries. I'm glad to finally see it in the UK top 40 and hope it can do as well as Echosmith and "Cool Kids" early last year.
