Just so you know, I'm here for JoJo and only JoJo.
But Habib Galbi is a jam-and-five-quarters anthem of life death and rebirth please play this at my wedding and my funeral. And I agree with Black Magic, it doesn't stand out much at all so I was surprised when it finally held my interest after a month or two. Little Mix certainly could've come back with a worse song so I'm not at all bothered at how things have turned out for them.

Peanut Butter Jelly is my favorite from that section, I hope Galantis has another hit coming!
I shall predict:
1. Kodaline – The One
2. Sinead Harnett – She Ain’t Me
3. Carly Rae Jepsen – Run Away with Me
4. George Ezra – Cassy O’
5. Tame Impala – Cause I’m A Man
6. Florence and the Machine – Ship To Wreck
7. Jess Glynne – Hold My Hand
8. Lost Frequencies – Are You With Me?
9. Ellie Goudling – Love Me Like You Do
10. Circa Waves – T-Shirt Weather

Omg my actual impact. We could say the same about Only Human too :(Finally, our annual J-Lo and Pitbull collaboration is at #91. Back It Up was a single for Prince Royce, and is the only song of his I've heard actually. It's a huge summer jam, with J-Lo adding a hint of Spanish to the song, particularly the earworm of "damelo papi chulo" which was stuck in my head for days. Jordan described it well when we were chatting last night - the hit that forgot to smash :(I'm also very glad Hozier has a second hit to his name, Someone New was definitely the right choice to follow TMTC. Oh look, Superherp *_

Sorry this completely passed me by but I'm all caught up now. Terrific countdown, love most of the songs in the top 17 although I'd have preferred Wildest Dreams over Bad Blood for the #1. I'd forgotten about Lighthouse but it's stunning, just a shame about the circumstances and that they haven't released anything else since then. So glad I Really Like You lived up to its potential, and Love Me Like You as well, was overjoyed at its new official peak no matter how annoying #11 is!
Great write-up for Love Me Like You Do, an unbelievably good song and the way it builds as it goes along is incredible. Glad that Lips Are Movin' is Meghan's highest song here as it's by far my favorite of hers. I'm also so happy Wings became a proper hit for Birdy and hope that bodes well for her new single. And this thread would not be complete without the Flashlight video thumbnail *.*
Sooo many songs that will feature in my thread as well so I'll save the rest of my thoughts on them for later! Well done!!
-
Really enjoying this, great format and your commentary captures each song wonderfully. I particularly love both Tove Lo songs featured, been unbelievably impressed with her artistry and talent. Also I prefer 'Love Myself' over 'Confident', Demi's song has great intent but just lacks something whereas Hailee's song sounds much more well-rounded. All the songs you match with each other are so spot on though, I love it--although the Tinashe/One Direction one was a bit of a curveball! :o Can't wait to see what you've saved for the top 10!
-
Okay, just now taking a look at this. Surprised to see Thinking Out Loud at #2, I thought See You Again would have the runner-up slot on lock.
YES at The Hills ending up higher than Can't Feel My Face, I was afraid its peak might be too late in the tracking year for that to happen. Amazing that Adele got to #35 in just three chart weeks, for comparison's sake What Do You Mean is #33 and had eleven chart weeks counted.
I'm also surprised both Rihanna songs are so close together, wasn't expecting BBHMM in the top 50 and not sure I realized it had a longer chart run than FourFiveSeconds (23 weeks vs. 20 weeks)!
Also of note: back-to-back-to-back Meghan Trainor (74-75-76), nearly back-to-back-to-back The Weeknd (9-10-12), and nearly back-to-back-to-back UK #2 hits (38-40-41). I'll stop now :P
-
The latter! It's top 100 on iTunes now and has more momentum on airplay than Hold Back The River ever seemed to have. Not sure how high it can go just yet but he should easily stick around for a month or two at least.James Bay making the Hot 100 :o Did something in particular boost it this week or is it just slowly growing into a (minor) hit anyway? Haven't been following it! -

That's a great section, I wonder what songs you've saved for the top 20 now. Glad we feel the same about Stitches, I love it just as much as I did six months ago. Sorry is by far Justin's best for me and I fully agree with you with On My Mind too, especially the chorus. Indeed All Eyes On You won't be in my EOY but it is really nice! I haven't listened to Delilah yet, but probably should after seeing all the praise for it, I don't quite adore What Kind Of Man either but her other two singles this year are massive faves!
-
Completely agree with this! Shame it's not getting played anymore since it really proved to be a hit chartwise. Definitely a very unexpected collab and sound but it worked so well!I didn't expect Rihanna to end up this low when I first started compiling this chart but I haven't really heard it very often since the first half of the year! Unlike some others I loved the stripped back feel to it and this allows the songwriting to shine through. It was the last thing I expected Rihanna to come out with in 2015 (well maybe bar opera and heavy metal :kink:) and was such a refreshing listen from the big pop songs we're used to her releasing to lead her eras! -

Hi John! Very glad to see all 3 of my top 5 hits continuing their runs :P But to think they all reached your top 5 while Florence was #1, now 3 months later they're below the top 50 and Florence is STILL top 2! I haven't checked your end-of-year chart yet but would fancy a guess at your #1 :P I haven't listened to the Hurts song either (is this album as good as their debut?) but here are the rest of my faves. Adele's '25' Sells Another 1.16 Million in U.S., Spends Fifth Week at No. 1 on Billboard 200 Chart
12/27/2015 by Keith Caulfield
Total U.S. sales for '25' now exceed 7 million.
Adele’s 25 locks up its third million-selling week in the U.S., as the set sold 1.16 million in pure album sales in the week ending Dec. 24, according to Nielsen Music (up 47 percent). That’s the five-week old set’s second-biggest frame yet, following its 3.38 million bow in the week ending Nov. 26. (Note: This story was revised on Dec. 28, after Nielsen updated 25's sales figure for the week from 1.15 million to 1.16 million.)
A surge in sales in the week leading up to Christmas (Dec. 25) was expected, as consumers rush to make last-minute holiday purchases. Also aiding 25's sales in the most recent tracking week: the frame captured a full seven days through Dec. 24. Nielsen Music's tracking week runs from Friday through Thursday, and Christmas Eve fell on a Thursday this year. (Usually, the tracking week will end a day or two before Christmas -- or after the holiday, thus lessening the impact of the week-before-Christmas sales frame.)
25 also sold more than a million in its second week on sale, when it shifted 1.11 million. 25 was already the first album to sell a million copies in two different weeks, and now it’s the first to score three million-selling frames.
25’s total U.S. album sales, through Dec. 24, now stand at 7.13 million.
Unsurprisingly, 25 also easily earns a fifth straight week at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart, with 1.19 million equivalent album units.
The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums of the week based on multi-metric consumption, which includes traditional album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA). The new Jan. 9, 2016-dated chart (where Adele is No. 1 for a fifth frame) will be posted in full to Billboard’s websites on Tuesday, Dec. 29.
Elsewhere on the Billboard 200, Justin Bieber’s Purpose stays steady at No. 2 with 229,000 units (up 38 percent). Of that sum, 153,000 were in pure album sales (up 53 percent).
Chris Brown’s new Royalty album clocks the top debut of the week, bowing at No. 3 with 184,000 units (162,000 in pure album sales).
In terms of straight sales, Royalty nets Brown his largest sales week since his 2011, when his F.A.M.E. album started at No. 1 with 270,000 sold.
Royalty is Brown’s eighth consecutive top 10 album (and all of his releases have made the top 10). It follows his collaborative album Fan of a Fan: The Album (with Tyga) earlier in 2015, which debuted and peaked at No. 7 (with 51,000 sold in its first week). Previous to that, Brown released the solo set X in 2014, which bowed and peaked at No. 2 (145,000 sold first week).
Pentatonix’s That’s Christmas to Me dips one position to No. 4 (140,000 units; down less than 1 percent).
The soundtrack to Star Wars: The Force Awakens beams in at No. 5 with 100,000 units (94,000 in pure album sales). The companion set to the mega-successful new movie is the highest debut for a score-only soundtrack since 1999, when Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace, started at No. 3.
The Force Awakens is the seventh film in the main Star Wars film series, and its soundtrack is the sixth to reach the top 10. (Only Return of the Jedi, in 1983, missed the region. It peaked at No. 20.)
While the Star Wars series produced six top 10 albums, none have reached No. 1. The closest the series came was with the first film, Star Wars, which saw its album spend three consecutive weeks at No. 2 in 1977. (It was stuck behind Fleetwood Mac’s Rumours, which ruled the list for 31 nonconsecutive weeks.)
Back on the new Billboard 200, One Direction’s Made in the A.M. slips 4-6 with 92,000 units (up 38 percent), Chris Stapleton’s Traveller falls 6-7 with 87,000 units (up 41 percent), Taylor Swift’s 1989 ascends 9-8 with 73,000 units (up 49 percent) and The Weeknd’s Beauty Behind the Madness falls 5-9 with 72,000 units (up 13 percent). Adele’s 21 closes out the top 10, holding at No. 10, with 71,000 units (up 46 percent).

Adele has her THIRD million-selling week with the same album :cheeseblock: and in the week leading up to Christmas '25' sold more than it did even in its second week, so this was its best sales week besides its debut. It has now sold 7.13 million in total. Most albums increased sales this week of course, it only took 49K to reach the top 10 last week. Chris Brown has his best sales week since F.A.M.E. in 2011 and improves on the #7 debut of Fan Of A Fan earlier this year. The Star Wars soundtrack is the sixth of seven to reach the top 10 and continues the revived success of soundtracks this year.

Oops, sorry I wasn't reading this over Christmas but yesss :w00t-old: Seeing it in your top 100 makes me happy ^_^ If I ever meet the band I'll punch his face for you :kink:Jordan :w00t: :w00t: :w00t: it's.. it's 'IT'S the band who has that punchable lead singer ;) Walk The Moon. 'Shut Up and Dance' did surprisingly well in my chart considering I didn't really like it when it premiered but somehow someway it's addictiveness wormed me in :kink:Yay for Sheppard, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, and Maggie Lindemann in your top 50  'Outlines' is lovely too and I adore 'Lips Are Movin'!
Wasn't expecting Echosmith OR Maroon 5 in your top 15 but I'm very excited to see them so high :o
