This is the most replies we've ever had with an entry!! :o Keep hyping please <3
I hope that hair flip is a sign of you Rapunzeling some points in our direction :D (in the spin-off at least)!I think Dance Anthems is 1BF so you don't have to worry about that not DNQ'ing.Morgan Page had a song featured on Teen Wolf so glad to see that impacting Harmonica *hair flip*
Thanks Iz!Also: no shit an artist has had a song featured on Teen Wolf, it seems to feature whatever it can get its hands on. Back when I used to watch it I once spotted Echosmith and Cardiknox (two consecutive BJSC entrants of mine, after I'd entered them) in the same episode. :P(oh and for Jordan, good luck with Morgan Page, I like him)
I hope to listen in the sunshine later! B-) Personally I prefer Desbuonica  (we each get 5 letters :magic:)'Open Heart' sounded pretty great in the sunshine today, Jordan B-). Rooting for it to be a rare Harmonican qualifier but of course can't do anything to help make that happen due to random.org's continued disdain for the Harmbuanda alliance. <_<I'd forgotten how much I like Lissie's voice <3 (actually I'd forgotten about Lissie altogether so cheers for inadvertedly reminding me of 'When I'm Alone' among other gems of hers)!
When I'm Alone has got to be her best

Morgan Page feat. Lissie "Open Heart"
LXXVI: did not qualify
Morgan Page feat. Lissie "The Longest Road (Deadmau5 Remix)"
2000s Dance Anthems Spin-Off: 27th!!
Took a FUN little risk here. Our top potential just happened to be ~of the dance category~ just as a dance-themed spin-off of BJSC surfaced. Lissie is an underrated fave of mine and she's done a few collabs with Morgan Page, so it just made sense to send them to both contests simultaneously! Best case scenario: both songs would help each other succeed. Worst case scenario: both would go unnoticed or get eaten alive by the other entries. In true Harmonica fashion, we went for the former and ended up with the latter!

Breaking Benjamin Earns Its First No. 1 Album on the Billboard 200 Chart
By Keith Caulfield | July 01, 2015
Rock band Breaking Benjamin celebrates its first No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 chart -- and their best sales week ever -- as Dark Before Dawn arrives in the top slot. The set moved 141,000 equivalent album units in the week ending June 28, according to Nielsen Music. Of that sum, 135,000 were pure album sales -- the group’s best week ever.
The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums of the week based on multi-metric consumption, which includes traditional album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA).
Previously, Breaking Benjamin’s best sales frame came when its last studio effort, 2009’s Dear Agony, bowed at No. 4 with 134,000. That wasn’t their highest charting album, however, as that honor had fallen to 2006’s No. 2-peaking Phobia (though it started with a smaller sum: 125,000).
Dark Before Dawn is Breaking Benjamin’s first studio album in nearly six years, and first with an almost all-new lineup. Now a quintet, only its namesake lead singer, Benjamin Burnley, remains from its previous incarnation as a quartet. (Two members of the band departed in 2010 after legal and contractual disputes, while another member left in 2013 due to creative differences.)
In May, Dark Before Dawn’s lead single, “Failure,” became the act’s third No. 1 on Mainstream Rock Songs. The track is currently in its eighth week atop that airplay list -- the group’s longest chart-topping run (surpassing the seven weeks at No. 1 for 2007’s “Breath”).
In addition, Breaking Benjamin becomes the first rock act on Hollywood Records to score a No. 1 album. The label – which is part of the Disney Music Group – is likely best known for its soundtracks and albums from pop stars like Miley Cyrus and Demi Lovato. Still, Hollywood has been home to a number of rock acts, ranging from Plain White T’s and Queen to Atreyu and Fastball.
In total, Dark Before Dawn is Hollywood Records’ 12th No. 1 album. (While Breaking Benjamin is the first rock act on Hollywood with a No. 1 album, Dark Before Dawn is the label’s second rock album to hit the top. It follows last year’s rockin’ No. 1 soundtrack, Guardians of the Galaxy, Awesome Mix Vol. 1.)
Breaking Benjamin leads a busy new top 10, as four more albums debut in the region.
Singer Tori Kelly sees her first full-length album, Unbreakable, bow in the No. 2 slot with 75,000 units (of which 65,000 are traditional album sales). The album was preceded by the singles “Nobody Love” (which reached No. 16 on the Pop Songs airplay chart) and “Should’ve Been Us” (which climbs 32-26 on the latest chart). Kelly previously reached the Billboard 200 with the EP Forward, which debuted and peaked at No. 16 in 2013.
Country star Kacey Musgraves is up next on the Billboard 200, as her second album, Pageant Material, debuts at No. 3 with 60,000 units (including 55,000 in pure album sales -- her best sales frame yet). Her 2013 debut Same Trailer Different Park launched at No. 2 with 43,000 -- her previous largest sales week. The new album’s current single, “Biscuits,” has so far peaked at No. 41 on the Country Airplay chart.
Taylor Swift’s 1989 dips 2-4 in its 35th week on the chart (54,000 units; down 6 percent) and last week’s No. 1, James Taylor’s Before This World, falls 1-5 with 50,000 (down 49 percent).
R&B newcomer Leon Bridges debuts at No. 6 with his first album Coming Home, as it enters with 42,000 units. It also starts at No. 1 on both Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums and R&B Albums. The set’s breakout single, “Coming Home,” peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard + Twitter Emerging Artists chart in April. During the album’s release week, Bridges played NBC’s The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon (June 22) and garnered coverage on National Public Radio’s Fresh Air (June 25).
Ed Sheeran’s x descends 4-7 with 35,000 units (down 10 percent), Sam Hunt’s Montevallo moves 6-8 with 30,000 units (down 6 percent) and Maroon 5’s V is steady at No. 9 with 27,000 units (down 1 percent).
Rounding out the top 10 is a new entry at No. 10: Walt Disney Records’ Teen Beach 2 TV soundtrack, which sails in with 24,000 units. It follows 2013’s Teen Beach Movie soundtrack, which debuted at No. 8 and later peaked at No. 3.
Taylor Swift's '1989' and Mark Ronson's 'Uptown Funk!' Top Nielsen's Mid-Year Charts
By Keith Caulfield
Taylor Swift’s 1989 and Mark Ronson's “Uptown Funk!” featuring Bruno Mars lead Nielsen Music’s 2015 U.S. mid-year charts, as the blockbuster releases have dominated the first half of the year.
For the tracking period of Dec. 29, 2014 through June 28, 2015, Swift’s mega-selling 1989 is both the top selling album and the most consumed set (when considering equivalent album units). The effort has sold 1.33 million in pure album sales in 2015, while it has earned just over 2 million in overall equivalent album units (2.01 million).
Equivalent album units are comprised of traditional album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA).
Nielsen reports that on-demand streaming is up 92 percent over the same point a year ago (135.2 billion versus 70.3 billion), with video on-demand streaming leading the way (up 109 percent to 76.6 billion) and audio on-demand streaming also up significantly (up 74 percent to 58.6 billion).
1989 also dominates as the year’s biggest vinyl album (34,000 sold) while it’s the second-biggest selling digital effort (645,000) behind Drake’s If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late (895,000).
2015’s Mid-Year Top 10 Albums (Based on Overall Equivalent Album Units)
1. Taylor Swift, 1989 (2,011,000 units)
2. Drake, If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late (1,431,000)
3. Ed Sheeran, X (1,428,000)
4. Soundtrack, Fifty Shades of Grey (1,402,000)
5. Sam Smith, In the Lonely Hour (1,296,000)
6. Meghan Trainor, Title (1,209,000)
7. Soundtrack, Furious 7 (971,000)
8. Maroon 5, V (966,000)
9. Nicki Minaj, The Pinkprint (825,000)
10. Fall Out Boy, American Beauty / American Psycho (813,000)
2015’s Mid-Year Top 10 Selling Albums
1. Taylor Swift, 1989 (1,328,000 sold)
2. Drake, If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late (965,000)
3. Sam Smith, In the Lonely Hour (788,000)
4. Ed Sheeran, X (763,000)
5. Soundtrack, Fifty Shades of Grey (763,000)
6. Meghan Trainor, Title (727,000)
7. Kendrick Lamar, To Pimp a Butterfly (627,000)
8. Fall Out Boy, American Beauty / American Psycho (478,000)
9. Various Artists, Now 53 (451,000)
10. Josh Groban, Stages (420,000)
Overall album sales are down by 4 percent compared to a year ago (116.1 million versus 120.9 million), as are CD album sales (down 10 percent to 56.6 million) and download album sales (down less than 1 percent to 53.7 million). Vinyl album sales continue to be a bright spot in a generally bleak sales picture, as the format grew by 38.4 percent to 5.6 million, year to date.
That said, seven albums have sold more than 600,000 copies in 2015 -- up from only four at this point a year ago.

I love this top three  Breaking Benjamin get their first #1 album nearly six years after their previous album was released. Dark Before Dawn claims 141K units and 135K sales, narrowly beating their previous best of 133K from a #2 album in 2006. Wonderful! Also very impressed to see Tori Kelly at #2 without a real hit to her name yet! And Kacey Musgraves at #3, surpassing the 42K opening of her debut album although that one entered higher at #2. Hopefully none of these plummet next week, at least not to the extent of Adam Lambert and Nate Ruess (scroll way down!).

Hi John! October  I think you should buy 'Renegades' anyway. It's just so good, plus rules are meant to be broken sometimes...:P9. X Ambassadors – Renegades [40-9] thanks for the youtube link this is fab - but not out in the UK till October! Damn!Hi Riser, as always stuff for me to check out (and like) :yahoo:
yay!
Thanks! :D
Hi Mango! Sadly it's not been much of a summer here so far, we've had more rain than sun :(Hey Jordan, hope you're well and enjoying your summer!1. Omi – Cheerleader [32-1] Great #1, even though I'm sort of over it. The best thing about this song is the production :)
2. Maroon 5 – This Summer’s Gonna Hurt Like A Motherf****r I'm still undecided about this. I think the title just puts me off straightaway, although I'm sure I'll grow to like it, as I don't think there's been a M5 single yet that I haven't liked!
3. Major Lazer & DJ Snake feat. MØ – Lean On [2-1-3]
5. Walk The Moon – Shut Up And Dance [12-1-2-5] Amazed that this climbed officially for a second week running, who'd have thunk!
6. Adam Lambert – Ghost Town [29-6]
7. Calvin Harris feat. Haim – Pray To God [24-x-34-7] How's this doing in the US?
8. Carly Rae Jepsen – I Really Like You [36-16-8] Her new single sounds just as good as this :D
10. Ariana Grande – One Last Time [1-3-3-10]
11. Taylor Swift feat. Kendrick Lamar – Bad Blood I prefer the Kendrickless version because his verses are added at the expense of hers, and I quite liked her verses!
14. Skrillex & Diplo feat. Justin Bieber – Where Are Ü Now [15-14]
15. Sia – Elastic Heart [14-10-7-17-15]
16. Tove Lo – Talking Body [13-7-16]
17. Fifth Harmony feat. Kid Ink – Worth It [33-14-17] Annoyingly catchy.
18. Jason Derulo – Want To Want Me [14-6-18] I much prefer his new single to this, another upbeat poppy number, hope the whole album sounds like that!
19. Andy Grammer – Honey, I’m Good [32-23-19] I heard this the other day, very catchy. I don't know anything about him though.
24. Fetty Wap – Trap Queen [28-24] Still jammin' to this, we're having a little heatwave in the UK this week and this sounds great in the sunshine :D
25. Imagine Dragons – Shots [34-11-25]
28. James Bay – Hold Back The River [35-28]
29. Florence + The Machine – Ship To Wreck This has now become my fave Florence single EVER!
32. Jessie J – Flashlight
36. Zedd feat. Selena Gomez – I Want You To Know [36-5-20-36]
38. MS MR – Painted Ooh, is this new from them? I absolutely loved 'Think Of You'.
Another great chart :D
1. YES! My favorite thing is definitely the trumpets
2. I was put off at first 'cause the song sounds nothing like Maroon 5. Grew on me quickly though so I hope it does the same for you!
5. Yes indeed, now it has matching peaks in the UK and US :D
7. Missed the top 100, airplay has peaked and is plummeting :nocheer: I'm surprised it was made a single here at all so I'm just glad I heard it on the radio ^_^
8. I haven't listened yet but the response on Buzzjack is very very promising!
11. I don't like her verses at all  This was the only bad song on the album for me until now :o
18. Just like Carly's song, I haven't listened to Jason's new one yet but it seems to have a lot of love on here!
19. Oh my gosh, he's great. Most of his stuff is more midtempo and a soulful/pop mix.
was his previous biggest hit in the US, if you're interested.24. I wish I could relate!!!!! :drama:
29. That's high praise! :o I don't know if anything could ever top 'Dog Days Are Over' for me!
38. Yes! This is a bit different but still nice.
Thank you for commenting!! :D
Hello Josh :DHello Riser2. Maroon 5 – This Summer’s Gonna Hurt Like A Motherf****r
3. Major Lazer & DJ Snake feat. MØ – Lean On [2-1-3]
4. DJ Snake & AlunaGeorge – You Know You Like It [5-4]
5. Walk The Moon – Shut Up And Dance [12-1-2-5]
7. Calvin Harris feat. Haim – Pray To God [24-x-34-7]
8. Carly Rae Jepsen – I Really Like You [36-16-8]
10. Ariana Grande – One Last Time [1-3-3-10]
11. Taylor Swift feat. Kendrick Lamar – Bad Blood This single release is really exciting, the video is an absolute spectacle and by the time we get to the final chorus I'm chanting along, doing some of the ad libs and just getting prepared to get up and whoop some ass with my celeb ninja friends.
12. Ne-Yo – Coming With You [34-x-18-12]
14. Skrillex & Diplo feat. Justin Bieber – Where Are Ü Now [15-14]
15. Sia – Elastic Heart [14-10-7-17-15]
16. Tove Lo – Talking Body [13-7-16]
17. Fifth Harmony feat. Kid Ink – Worth It [33-14-17]
18. Jason Derulo – Want To Want Me [14-6-18]
19. Andy Grammer – Honey, I’m Good [32-23-19] Sounds so different to everything else in the UK so I'm pleased to see it doing not bad on pre-orders, cheering for it to do well over here, it's rather joyous too.
20. Natalie La Rose feat. Jeremih – Somebody [33-22-4-9-20]
22. Wiz Khalifa feat. Charlie Puth – See You Again [13-22]
24. Fetty Wap – Trap Queen [28-24]
25. Imagine Dragons – Shots [34-11-25]
26. Britney Spears & Iggy Azalea – Pretty Girls Shame this just has not done well at all, it's a lot stronger than Work Bitch I think. The main thing I like about this is the ringing bell noise in the chorus, it's not a massive part but it's SO good.
28. James Bay – Hold Back The River [35-28]
29. Florence + The Machine – Ship To Wreck So glad she managed another top 40 hit in the official charts, shame she's turning more into an albums artist now because I love seeing her having huge hit songs, she just has such a magical voice that could make me enjoy anything, even a cover of Happy or All of Me.
30. Echosmith – Bright [15-19-10-10-30]
32. Jessie J – Flashlight Shame this could never sneak top 10 here despite doing well on iTunes, it's a really gorgeous ballad and I love the way it builds in to her really going for it in the end. At first I thought it was a bit boring but there's something beautiful about her not doing those vocal acrobatic things, her best ever for me is still Who You Are though.
36. Zedd feat. Selena Gomez – I Want You To Know [36-5-20-36]
37. Tori Kelly – Nobody Love [6-8-12-37]
40. Omarion feat. Jhene Aiko & Chris Brown – Post To Be [31-40]
11. Yeah, honestly I've only watched the video once oops (for the Katy Perry Pointless quiz ) but the remix has improved the song massively for me!
19. I'm told it's actually been released this week but can't verify that  Nice song but not my favorite of his.
26. I love the ringing noise too!!!!! Totally makes the song, yessssss.
29. Well to be fair, her last album's singles didn't perform well either, except Shake It Out had an X Factor boost and Spectrum had a remix. But still I agree, quite a relief to see she can at least still get a couple brief chart hits.
32. Who You Are's so underrated  I'd say #13 was much better than I expected actually. She was long overdue another hit nearly a year after Bang Bang!
Thanks for commenting!
Yeahhhh. I think Charlie's a bigger offender than Meghan, for me at least, but I've avoided the song to the point I can't remember much about it. Hopefully I change my mind by the time it's a hit! :PI was gonna say why that reaction but then I looked up the lyrics and I realised it could be very marmite which is not a shocker considering Meghan's on it :P -

32 | 45 | Nick Jonas | Chains [45-32]

38 | ** | Carly Rae Jepson | Run Away With Me Another error :magic: Will fix after I post (remind me if I forget). Haven't listened yet but I've seen the overwhelmingly positive response :o.

41 | 07 | Brandon Flowers | Lonely Town [28-07-41]
42 | ** | Omarion ft. Chris Brown & Jhene Aiko | Post To Be

Radio 1 played 'Long Hot Summer' yesterday. I'm assuming that's a rare occurrence so I thought I'd mention it :P
Here's the link http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b05zgh3w It was 2:11:45 into Scott's show.

Personally I find this very hard to believe. Plenty of countries include streaming in their official charts now, with no reason to believe there's any anti-iTunes mentality behind their decision. I'm sure the rationale for the OCC was no different to anywhere else in the world.HA.One of the reasons of including streaming into the charts is apparently that Radio 1 didn't want to have a replica of iTunes chart as the official one, and now they are probably going to look very similar again. But maybe Spotify will be able to save a huge share of market?

I'll volunteer for 7 AM! It'll be my first time helping with one of these, finally.
Like Chez said I think they'll combine the bestsellers for the years in each group. That seems like a good idea to me actually, it's easy enough to find the year-end lists for each year but at least this way there's SOME element of surprise. Either way, Radio 1 is usually good with these countdowns/specials so I have hope that they won't disappoint. :D

:hi: Rob, happy birthday again :D:hi: Jordan1. Omi – Cheerleader [32-1] HUGE WHOPPER OF A CLIMB :o
2. Maroon 5 – This Summer’s Gonna Hurt Like A Motherf****r YASSS the best of all of this current era and it's only a a deluxe type release
3. Major Lazer & DJ Snake feat. MØ – Lean On [2-1-3] This is such a jam :music:
5. Walk The Moon – Shut Up And Dance [12-1-2-5]
6. Adam Lambert – Ghost Town [29-6] probably will chart this this coming week tbh but it's not my favourite of his!
7. Calvin Harris feat. Haim – Pray To God [24-x-34-7] gosh this is a bit old or it just becuase it's blowing up in America?
8. Carly Rae Jepsen – I Really Like You [36-16-8] RAWM is far better but this is still very good and catchy!
10. Ariana Grande – One Last Time [1-3-3-10]
11. Taylor Swift feat. Kendrick Lamar – Bad Blood
12. Ne-Yo – Coming With You [34-x-18-12]
15. Sia – Elastic Heart [14-10-7-17-15]
16. Tove Lo – Talking Body [13-7-16]
17. Fifth Harmony feat. Kid Ink – Worth It [33-14-17]
18. Jason Derulo – Want To Want Me [14-6-18]
19. Andy Grammer – Honey, I’m Good [32-23-19] Why on earth did they decide to release this this week in the UK  Although it is up to 65 so hopefully R2 can push it to top 40 eventually. Very catchy country pop song
20. Natalie La Rose feat. Jeremih – Somebody [33-22-4-9-20]
22. Wiz Khalifa feat. Charlie Puth – See You Again [13-22] I far prefer 'Marvin Gaye' to this
24. Fetty Wap – Trap Queen [28-24]
26. Britney Spears & Iggy Azalea – Pretty Girls
28. James Bay – Hold Back The River [35-28]
29. Florence + The Machine – Ship To Wreck
30. Echosmith – Bright [15-19-10-10-30]
31. Tori Kelly – Should’ve Been Us
32. Jessie J – Flashlight
37. Tori Kelly – Nobody Love [6-8-12-37]
Excellent chart for the month of June ie our birthdays :D
1. Yeah! Not sure if it's my biggest climb to #1 or not. I think Clean Bandit "Real Love" went from #33 to #1 or something like that.
2. YASSS but Animals is still the best for me. It's not doing so well in the US so I worry it might not get a UK release
3. Yeah three months later it still sounds as good as ever :music:
6. That's okay, I think "Whataya Want From Me" is still my fave of his but this sure comes close.
7. It didn't blow up in America sadly :( but I did get to hear it enough times on the radio this month, plus I just needed to give this song a good peak :magic:
8. Haven't listened to RAWM yet! I have high hopes based on what everyone's saying!
19. I don't know why :o but I have a feeling it will do well on streaming.
22. Eww, I totally don't

I have not tried streaming yet. I either listen on Youtube when I have Internet, or listen to radio when I don't. Making an account on Spotify or Apple Music is too inconvenient for me, it seems trivial but I'd rather listen to music without the hassle of logging in (and I don't have a smartphone or tablet). Can't imagine myself converting anytime soon, really!
