  1. Interesting how different perspectives can be! I’d say this has been one of the best years in a LONG time, from a pop music perspective British music… to be honest I hadn’t noticed but it’s true, there’s basically no “huge” UK star at the moment other than Charli, but even she is based in America.
  2. The Spotify Wrapped impact!! I don’t recall this ever happening in past years? Was so confused at why Birds of a Feather was so high
  3. FIVE Charli songs in the top 100, nearly two months after the album’s release. I don’t think I’ve ever been so delighted at an album campaign’s success. SO deserved after years of killing it but not really being appreciated beyond her core fans.
  4. Would it be Charli’s first #1 on Spotify..?
  5. The Weeknd’s greatest hits album spending literally years in the UK charts, and very high up, simply cos people stream his individual songs so much.
  6. Florence & The Machine was just ‘Florence Welch’ on her Calvin Harris collab Sweet Nothing Dixie Chicks / The Chicks ‘Years & Years’ is both the name of a band, and now the stage name for now-soloist Olly Alexander
  7. #53 Tiesto - The Business Seems to being used at the start of World Cup matches in between the national anthems and kickoff so will likely keep climbing
  8. That Sam Smith song is an absolute sonic assault, I’m gobsmacked it’s doing well On a more positive note, has a trans woman (or man!) ever been #1 on Spotify before? I can’t recall another trans pop star of recent years? Or ever really!

Beyoncé will finally release her next studio album But Rihanna won’t Ed Sheeran will release another album and will dominate the UK charts more than Equals did Mimi Webb will feature on a big dance smash Adele will clean up at the Brits Billie Eilish will release Oxytocin and it will be a big hit The Saturdays will reform Charli XCX’s album released in March will be a critical success but a commercial disaster Anne-Marie will re-release a song from her album with a new male feature and it will perform moderately well Lewis Capaldi will re-emerge in Q4 and do very well Dua Lipa will return in Q3 with a huge new song Kim Petras will get a top 40 hit in the UK Cardi B will get a #1 in the UK
  10. 7 versions of the same song in the top 40. I’ve been following the iTunes chart closely for about 12 years now and I’ve never seen ANYTHING like this?! Phenomenal, deserved, and I’ll be so so excited if they get to #1 officially
  11. Blinding Lights is one of the best songs of recent years but HOW is it still knocking about the top 10, over a year later?! Not that I’m complaining, but wow

Very bizarre that LadBaby hasn't said a word and yet he's the firm bookies favourite still? I really hope it doesn't become the norm that he releases a song every Xmas. It'll be worse than X Factor winning every year. I have money on Mariah so I'm hoping she stays put!
  13. I wouldn’t write off Nathan Dawe & Little Mix
  14. Feel like Underneath The Tree is growing in popularity year by year. I saw a tweet the other day that said UTT will be the AIWFCIY of the 2030s. I don’t know if it’ll ever be THAT popular but I can see it being seen as an absolute Christmas classic in years to come.

Hahah that’s meeeee The bookies got that SO wrong. It was only the week before and they were already #1, it was such a no brainer?! I’m annoyed I didn’t put more than a tenner on tbh
