It's just too similar to Animals, and Animals is still kind of relevant cos it was such a big song when it originally came out. The only way he was going to get anything that got close to how well Animals did was by doing something entirely different.

Knew 'I Will Be' would enter the charts after it was used on BGT. Has it ever charted in the UK?

I don't think it's the holidays just yet? The Easter holiday usually falls around the Easter weekend and that's not til next weekend

I like the Kiesza song but can't help but feel it's getting more attention than it deserves? The video is fantastic but the song isn't anywhere NEAR on the same level as other songs that have got so high on pre-orders, such as Wake Me Up, Roar, Rather Be etc.

iTunes preparing "massive, Beyoncé-esque exclusive"
Latest rumour I've heard is Lana's new single 'West Coast' is going to come out unexpectedly tomorrow, and the album to follow on Thursday. No reliable source, just speculation.

Fancy is doing so much better than I ever expected! I've always loved it but didn't think the public would take to it as much as me. Also it's nice for Charli XCX to get her name attached to another big hit. Her next single needs to be massive after 'Superlove' was criminally overlooked.

Not sure if Glory and Gore is a good single choice, it's not one of her best. But then some of the best songs on the album wouldn't really work as singles anyway - 400 Lux, Ribs and Buzzcut Season. All great tracks but wouldn't work on radio etc.

I've seen that on a music channel too, think it'll be the next UK single yeah as it's already been a single in various other countries. It needs a new video though. Christ.

I think Let It Go will rise after the Frozen DVD release tomorrow. iirc Paper Planes by MIA rose after the DVD was released of Slumdog Millionaire? And after it was first shown on tv? So these big films do have effects on their songs once they are released to other platforms.

I know the biggest drop from #1 is McFly with Baby's Coming Back/Transylvania got 1-20, but what's the second largest drop?

Ewwww just heard the radio edit of 'Bassline' for the first time and no wonder it's flopping! They've butchered it. The original is far superior.

I really like the Klaxons song.

I can't believe Bassline hasn't done well, I thought it'd be huge.

It's a grower I think. If you haven't seen the video make sure you watch it, cos it's pretty bloody fantastic:

'I Got U' is one of those songs where I genuinely just can't imagine someone not liking it. It's one of the most effortlessly uplifting songs in a long time.

Acts you were certain would be huge...
Thought Diana Vickers was gonna be really big after X Factor, especially when she got a #1 single and album. But then she disappeared pretty much. I know she had two more top 40 hits after that, and has a second album, but on the whole she's not done as brilliantly as I expected.

Can see 5SOS getting #1 this week, then Duke Dumont getting it next week. I wouldn't get your hopes up about Gaga. I can't see this going Top 20.

#SELFIE is hilarious. I'm glad it's doing well.

iTunes preparing "massive, Beyoncé-esque exclusive"
I really hope this is a joke... if this actually happens and Gaga fans legitimately believe that Gaga planned ARTPOP to be a flop all along, I will lose all faith in the pop industry. "She planned it all along!!! She wanted it to flop!!! It's art!!! SHE'S A GENIUS!!!" I can see this happening. Urgh. Anyway, who do I think it could/couldn't be? Adele - gonna say this is very unlikely. Adele's album sales rely too heavily on physical copies for this to be a iTunes exclusive. Rihanna - as much as I'd LOVE this to be Rihanna, being a massive fan, I can't see it happening. She's too much of a singles artist. The only three artists who I think are big enough and have enough hype around them to make this a success are Gaga, Lana Del Rey and Nicki Minaj. We all know Lana's album is immanent and she hasn't really properly announced anything yet. The 'May 1st' date is clearly a load of rubbish seeing as May 1st this year is a Thursday, and nobody release albums on Thursdays. Nicki is a potential but I can't help but feel the response to her dropping an album would be kind of muted? She's not got a strong enough following to allow it to be a huge success I don't think. But it's a possibility nonetheless. All the signs seems to be pointing to Lady Gaga, seeing as she's been so quiet lately, except for shooting videos for singles that haven't even been announced. There's also the big factor that she said ARTPOP Pt II was happening. And the whole vomit thing last week could have been a 'subtle' way of nudging her back into the limelight just in time for an album release. I'd put my money on her tbh.

I'm really not a fan of ancient songs making comebacks. These songs have had their time, let the charts be full of new stuff.

Really don't get the love for 'Summer'. It's so Calvin-Harris-by-numbers. Nothing new, nothing special. Disappointing.

Kesha - We R Who We R got released as part of a compilation accidentally a week or two before it was officially released, and as a result charted at something like #97 with the few days it was available for. It still went to #1 when it got released officially. Also Rihanna - Love The Way You Lie Part II (broken down version without Eminem) was meant to be album only but had a day or two where it was available to download. It charted at #160 as a result but went top 40 on iTunes iirc.
