Jameela's first year on Chart
She doesn't seem to have a clue about the music a lot of the time, and her presenting style is just a bit boring I think. Not a fan.

This 'era' has well and truly been a disaster for her. I guess they waited until the Disclosure song came out before releasing her new material. Her songs just haven't been up to scratch though, despite 'You & Me' being amazing, one of my favourite songs of last year, and going Top 10. 'Big When I Was Little' is a decent tune but only made the Top 15. I think the next single was the downfall, 'Let It Rain', it's a nice song but doesn't exactly sound like a hit. The whole album is pretty dull in my opinion though. It has peaked at #25 but doesn't deserve any higher I don't think. Poor Eliza. Now 'Walking On Water' isn't doing anything either. She is well and truly flopping right now.

Yeah it's been confirmed for a while, the video was released yesterday. Also, Shakira and Rihanna are premiering a new song on Monday, "Can't Remember To Forget You", anyone know if this is gonna be OA/OS in the UK?

#699 Ellie Goulding - Goodness Gracious Where do we think this will peak? I love the song and the video. I think off the back of How Long Will I Love You and Burn, two huge hits, it will do well for a third single. Probably Top 20.

#1 OF THE YEAR 2013 / RESULTS
Which are going to be the bottom four that didn't get 1000 points? I'm thinking... Bingo Players PJ & Duncan Sam Bailey One Direction

Surprised it got to Number 1
PJ & Duncan considering it seemed like just another lame Facebook campaign. I laughed when I saw a group saying something like "lets get the boys to #1!!!!" like, oh come on now you have NO idea how the charts work. And then I was proved wrong. Shame, I despise the song, but love Pink's 'Just Give Me A Reason'. Other surprises this year for me, although I LOVE all of these except Calvin: Eminem & Rihanna - The Monster Naughty Boy & Sam Smith - La La La Ellie Goulding - Burn Calvin Harris - Under Control Avicii - I Could Be The One

I've heard XO on Capital a few times already. Drunk In Love seems to always be on the TV though. Speaking of which, do music channels have a big effect on sales? I can't imagine they would, seeing as viewing figures for music channels must be so low. I know singles do better if they have a video, but I'd imagine that this would be more from people watching the video online, rather than from seeing it on TV.

Timber is just so bloody great oh my god it HAS to be #1 this week. I really can't stand that Happy song either, I don't get the hype at all, it's so repetitive.

I don't know what you've been listening to but the lyrics make perfect sense to me. "I like your style, been watching you for a while, said oh yeah, let's dance, and then.. Let's skip to the good bit" Basically, you're fit, so let's dance, then let's go home and shag.
-
Predict : Pitbull ft Ke$ha - Timber
I can't see this getting over 100k, not at this time of year. I reckon about 65,000 but that will secure it for #1.

You really think rain would make people want to buy rain-related songs? Sorry but that's just ridiculous.

If The Power of Love is a Christmas song then so is Somewhere Only We Know.
-
iTunes Weekly Thread W/C 8th December 2013
Where do we think Beyonce's album will chart on Sunday? Given that it's iTunes-only, the Xmas market is fierce and it's only got two days of sales... I think #35 is a good estimation?
-
iTunes Weekly Thread W/C 8th December 2013
What is the most modern Christmas song you could regard as a classic though? I'm sure many won't agree with this but I reckon The Darkness - Don't Let The Bells End is up there.
