Since when do soundtracks appear in the official chart? I thought they didn't count

Only just getting round to this for this year... always interesting to look back and see how right/wrong we got it! I'm thinking... First off, this year will be ED SHEERAN YEAR - Ed will headline Glastonbury - Ed will have the number 1 single for at least 10 weeks (although not necessarily consecutive) - Ed will have the number 1 album for at least 16 weeks (again, not necessarily consecutive) - Ed will break some sort of streaming record with his album Other predictions: - Matt Terry's debut single will flop massively - Liam Payne will have a hit - Harry Styles will have a hit - Nicki Minaj will get a #1 - George Ezra will come back to great success - Sam Smith WON'T come back as many have expected him to - he'll wait til 2018 - Katy Perry will return with a huge song, kicking off another huge era - Calvin Harris will release a #1 album with huge stars featuring - Taylor Swift will release a #1 album - Beyonce will clean up at the Grammys - Little Mix will win a BRIT award - Fifth Harmony's first single without Camila will do very well - Anne-Marie will get a top 5 single - Zara Larsson's album won't be released until the second half of the year - Honey G will be dropped by Syco by April - Lorde will have a huge year

I think we're still long overdue drum n bass being a huge trend. There were a few songs around 2011/2012 (e.g. Hot Right Now, Gold Dust) but no mass domination

I haven't seen a thread like this yet, apologies if there is one already. Which songs do we think could do well in the UK next year? I have a couple: Bebe Rexha - I Got You Insanely catchy pop song, very radio friendly, hasn't charted anywhere yet but I'm willing it to do well in the new year: pUUGJD-JjGA Zak Abel - Unstable I've been willing this guy to do well for years. I'm hoping 2017 is finally his year. He is insanely talented and his songs are all catchy as hell. His album is out in Feb, I'm hoping he at least gets nominated for Sound of 2017. cC7rEd5dfwk Any others??

  10. £250 in the bank!!! Clearly the bookies need to brush up on how the charts work these days cos having them at 25/1 just a week ago was a HUGE oversight!

If I Were A Boy was performed by Beyoncé on the XF final that year. What was #5?

I can't see Touch getting gift card buys though. Shout Out To My Ex will go back Top 10, Touch I could see dropping way down for a few days then rising back up

RagnBone is #30 on streams. That's surely not enough to get #1 unless he smashes it on sales in the next few days? Which is unlikely
  16. Very happy and very excited that I got CB at 25/1 with a tenner Should hopefully be a nice early Xmas present for me!
  17. Out of interest, how did last year's Christmas week go? Did the charity song lead from the start? I rememebr there being more media attention towards the end of the week but can't remember if it was already a foregone conclusion at the start that nhs would win?
  18. Jo Cox is gonna get it. There will be a lot of media coverage on it. They only need 70k sales or so to clear it and they can get that easy peasy Although I hope CB get it as I'll win £250!!
  19. At this point I think the Jo Cox song will get it easy
  20. I don't think Ed would be allowed to release something. He penned the XF song. If Syco had any sense they'd write some clause in the contract that he can't release something on xmas week to avoid competition
  21. I've just put £10 on Clean Bandit at 25/1. I've placed a few bets on various silly things over the last few years but never once won. Hopefully this will be my first win! I put money on Marcus Collins to win X Factor (THANK GOD HE DIDN'T), Michelle Visage to win CBB and Gemma Collins to win CBB. I was close with Marcus but not with the other two lolz.

  24. Doesn't gift card week push all 'new' hits down massively and bring back loads of big hits from the year? I imagine RagnBoneMan will drop quite a bit but rise again in the new year. May well be the first new number one of 2017.
