  1. I wasn't responding to any particular post, it's just something that I've seen a lot here. I understand it happening when the change occurred, but after awhile the complaining and comparing just seems so pointless. The world has changed, a lot of people buy music subscriptions now instead of individual songs, it doesn't seem unreasonable that their spending should somehow be reflected in the charts. And at least it's not as bad as we have it here, where Lady Gaga can get a top 10 song based on buying ads on YouTube, or Harlem Shake being #1 for 5 weeks because a 30 second snippet of it became a meme.
  2. Just out of curiosity, how long before people stop complaining about streaming being part of the charts and bringing up where things would have charted if streaming wasn't factored in? Maybe it's because I'm from the US where they are constantly rejiggering the Billboard chart methodology and the Hot 100 was never based solely on sales, but it doesn't seem like that big of a deal to me, at least not one where there should still be this much bemoaning of it several months later. Isn't it time to just suck it up and accept the charts as they are, and not how you would rather they be?
  3. I read that the Mariah's record company are the ones who put the brakes on her plan. Whether it's because she never got their permission in the first place, or because she ruined the surprise element of it by announcing it in advance, I don't know.
