This is such a tune! Absolutely loving it

It is over 5 minutes long, not sure if a radio edit is being released at the same time but it might work against it.

Album is called ‘People Watching’ and is out on 21st February

“to commemorate 40 years since the original recording, this newly compiled release features the original 1984 version, and subsequent band aid 20 and band aid 30 versions, plus the 2024 ultimate mix – an extraordinary new edit by trevor horn which mixes together vocals of the many artists who have recorded the song over the decades into one seamless whole.” It’s not being billed as Band Aid 40 and it’s not even the 1st track on the single, I doubt this will get that much of a push or have that much hype to be honest. If anything it will give the original a boost.

I think they missed a trick not releasing ‘3AM’ separate from this EP. For me it sounds like it could be a hit as well as ‘Nice To Meet You’

HdOwwz64Lj0 Something I never thought I would say after ‘Wellerman’ but this is a really strong album with not a single bad song. ‘Paper Planes’, ‘I’m A Man’ which features Foy Vance and the insanely catchy ‘Highland Girl’ are stand outs for me.

Quite surprised they have went down the EP route instead of an album announcement.

This comes out on the 15th November so not long now!

I can see this catching on and becoming a big hit at some point next year

10. Ava - The Reason (feat. McFly)

I seen a video on TikTok of them performing this and was wondering if it was gonna get a release at some point.

If Becky were to do it I think she would do a big ballad or something. I think she would love to get away from the generic dance music that gives her hits that I think her label wants her to do and this would give her the opportunity. I can't see her doing it though to be honest.

Definitely Duffy and Emeli Sande. Sam Smith as well. As much as they have had hits since their debut nothing seems as massive as their first album.

I wish ‘People Watching’ would get a release date. I’m starting to get sick of hearing it on TikTok.

I feel this would have worked better if they literally just made it a remix of the original or just have Ava on her own. Both mixed together really doesn’t work. It sounds like a mashup that someone would put on YouTube.

I’ve always thought ‘Moments’ should have been the their second single. I never understood why it was only ever a bonus track.

I do think that will eventually be ‘Night Changes’

I think that’s why it didn’t do anything. It was a bit too on the nose trend wise. There was a lot better pop folk sounding songs out this year it just got lost.

I’m going to be make a prediction that Nathan Evans will represent us based on absolutely nothing other they will go for a middle of the road male singer who is known on TikTok.

Sam does seem a mid week release type artist. So I imagine it will be announced on Friday with the release on 13th November at 6pm as Radio 1’s hottest record.

A remix of this track was always gonna happen with it being big on TikTok so it might as well be David Guetta that does it.
