I’ve finally listened to NOW Yearbook: The Vault ‘86 and after an initial listen, I only have a Top 6. I’m hoping after repeated listens and exposure I’ll probably enjoy more tracks but for now here’s my Top 6: Chris Rea - On The Beach Billy Ocean - Love Zone Daryl Hall - Dreamtime Chaka Khan - Love Of A Lifetime Lionel Richie - Love Will Conquer All Loose Ends - Slow Down I’m currently revisiting the 80s Yearbooks, and it’s given me a chance to enjoy these tracks I haven’t had the chance to enjoy before. Insofar, I’ve listened to NOW Yearbook ‘80 and Disc 1 of the Extra and I have to say, the sequencing is pretty great. Disc 3 of Yearbook ‘80 is particularly strong and probably a highlight for me. I’m looking forward to Disc 2 of the Extra!

Finally got Shape of You on a NOW album, but I'm not forking out dosh for that one song and frustratingly, 9 To 5, which isn't on any NOW Yearbook to date. Boring.

I would. But it feels like they messed up the volumes here as there are far more chart hits between 1967-1969 than there were 1960-1962 purely because the charts expanded. Almost makes me wish that the 60s were a 5 volume set like the Millennium series instead. I wonder who will make the cut and who will get the chop?

Wholeheartedly agree with Lolly. Clearly I and my sisters were the target demographic at the time (I was 8, they were 9 and 12 at the time). She just left me with a big smile on my face. So joyous and fun. Scooch also gave me the same feeling, its like music you listen to when going to Spain, just fun and summery! Garage was absolutely dominating! MJ Cole’s ‘Crazy Love’ is so classy, I love it. Bound 4 Da Reload (Casualty) reminds me of my older sister (9) and my childhood friends who thought they were “gangstas” for enjoying this music at the time. They’re now working full time jobs and have kids of their own!

I think we’ve all been expecting a dance disc in the 90s for a long time. Why NOW kept breaking up the dance tunes across discs I have no idea. They came close with the main edition of 1999 but decided to tack on some indie/alternative at the end. Dance music was prominent throughout the entire decade, so it deserves its own disc.

I dig it! Kickstarts with dance and ends with the beautiful Elton John number. I’m genuinely excited for this!

It’s wild because those two aren’t even the strongest Yearbooks of the 90s, I’d argue that 1999 was stronger on the whole.

It’s an interest, everyone has them. On another note, I too wish that this one tops the compilation charts, it’s very much deserved for such a stellar set of music. Also, I preordered for collection with HMV after Rarewaves delivered my Vault ‘86 JUST yesterday. It’s absolutely criminal, what’s the point in a preorder if I don’t get it on release day?! For Yearbook ‘71 Extra I’ve gone the Amazon route as they’re generally good, and delivery is free as my stepdad gave me equal access to his Amazon account, winner-winner! Going forward however, if HMV has my copy ready on release day, I’ll stick with them going forward.

On first impressions, holy crap I love it! It’s almost everything I’ve wanted! TWO Lion King songs makes me want to shed a tear. DOOP is on Disc 3, and what a powerful Dance disc! Baby D! They managed Stiltskin even though the original ‘Inside’ isn’t on streaming, will have to check this one to see if it’s the original. Boyz II Men have made it, think we’ll see ‘End of The Road’ on The Final Chapter of ‘90-‘94? Warren G’s summer smash ‘Regulate’ is here too, incredible! The reggae revival in the middle of disc 2 is chef’s kiss! Having Streets Of Philadelphia to kick things off is an interesting pick too, glad to see it on here. Considering licensing and things, I’m initially very happy with this tracklist. Can’t wait to get my hands on this! Much stronger than ‘93 IMO.

That's not unreasonable, in fact I'd agree with this too. If not on this volume but the Extra? Similar to Take That's 'Babe' seeing as they couldn't get licensing for Mr Blobby. It'd be interesting to see.

It's so good to see the artwork materialise, hopefully the tracklist announcement follows today. Agree that Wet Wet Wet are more than likely to kickstart the entire album. Also, there are no chart entries from David Sylvian that year so fingers crossed he gets kept away from this spectacular year. I also want a solid Eurodance/Dance disc, hopefully Disc 3. After '93's dismal attempt at it, I'm hoping '94 will be far stronger in that regard.

There’s still a chance for the Final Chapters.

If none of the Elton John Lion King songs make it I’m gonna lose my mind. He’s been on most Yearbooks and The Lion King needs to be represented. It’s worrying, because I don’t think we’ve had a Disney song on a Yearbook so far.
