Yeah, I'm positively surprised by that. You look at a lot of Spotify playlists and the majority use the default album version as it's the first one that pops up on the search. The unique UK mix is lower down and has arrows literally pointing to the text 'The U.K. Mixes', that comes up third on the search results. IMO it's the best version.

I've done a breakdown of the tracks on NOW Yearbook 1999 and have noticed that all songs sans Pretenders' 'Human' (No.33) made the Top 20. Considering that there are ~143 Top 10 hits in 1999, this does actually make this Yearbook statistically strong. Probably stronger than the other 90's Yearbooks. The Extra will likely to be quite strong too with so many Top 10 hits, let alone Top 20 hits to choose from.

Real Yearbooks, I felt the Millennium releases to be a bit lazy to be honest. We really do need 4 discs and the Extra 3 discs. Especially for 2000-2004 as I found so many songs that could have made the numbered NOWs between 45 and 59. 60 was the start of an improvement, and the 2007 volumes were peak (66, 67, 68).

I’ve watched every single airing episode of the 90’s since BBC Four brought them on in 2021. I’ve been enjoying it so much but I’m sad it’s coming to a close now that we’re at the tail end of 1999. Every week though it’s been banger after banger and I cannot contain my excitement when I’m watching it!

Love this, and I find it to complement the numbered volumes instead of replacing them entirely. So happy that TLC made it with ‘No Scrubs’, as well as HUGE hits by Whitney Houston which are every bit as memorable as everything else on here. 1999 is such a peak year, there are too many tracks on here that I absolutely love. I, too, am hoping for the UK single mix of ATB’s legendary original version of 9pm (Till I Come). It’s 2:44 in length but my God it’s a banger. Would love to see both ‘Mickey’ and ‘Viva La Radio’ on the Extra, and the Cartoons ‘Witch Doctor’! Baz Luhrmann too, as well as Mr Oizo’s ‘Flat Beat’ with Flat Eric! Come on NOW, you can do it!

Really like this tracklist, it’s very strong for an Extra. Can’t wait to get it!

Boring. The vast majority, if not all the tracks are on the Yearbooks. Where’s my Yearbook ‘72 Extra?

Agreed. It’s been a long stretch between the Yearbooks. The Extra hopefully will be announced this week.

Interesting to see Def Leppard on here. Wish they were on the Yearbooks to be honest. Also, seeing Bon Jovi’s ‘Always’ on here gives me hope it’ll be on Yearbook ‘94. Apart from that, it’s just a cheap rehash of other “Dad Rock” spinoffs. Also I agree on the sentiment that dads in this day and age aren’t solely into 80s rock ballads. I have mates who are dads who are more into their late 90s/early 00s pop-punk/rock/heavy metal than all the 80s stuff. NOW need to move past the fact that these so called “dads” are 00s dads, and are now probably grandads themselves.

Regarding Vault: ‘85. Haven’t heard most the songs on there (which I’m glad about, means I have more music to discover!), gutted to hear about Sting’s double appearance between both this and the ‘85-‘89 Extra - that should have been checked. However, happy to see Weird Science and Eddie Murphy’s ‘Party All The Time’ on there! Both great tunes! Changing topic: I’m loving @nowmusic1993 and @Harrison FB ‘s playlists. I love a good alternate universe NOW album! I’ve made dance mix playlists using Spotify’s DJ Mix feature, and used the extended dance versions of songs that featured on the numbered NOWs of the 90’s. Each year having its own playlist from 1990 to 1999. I was wondering if you guys would be interested in me sharing them here? I’d love some feedback, and was also curious about including tracks that have made the Yearbooks but not the numbered volumes too. So far I’ve actively listened to 1990, 1999 and currently listening to 1998. I’ve been enjoying them, but I just know there are tweaks I can make to them. But yeah, let me know if there’s interest and I’ll share them with you all. :)

At the moment, the only NOW album I'm looking forward to is NOW Yearbook 1972. It gives me a chance to discover music from that year, which I otherwise wouldn't have even bothered trying. If another 90's Yearbook comes out, I'm hoping it's stronger than the ones we've been having... I'm finding the 90's Yearbooks to be the weakest ones, but that's probably because the numbered volumes were already quite strong on the whole. The 90's Yearbooks feel like an alternate reality rather than what was true at the time.

Looks like Now 120 was the last one - surprisingly recent! Yeah, not too keen on this release. It's very weak, and it's starting to feel like one person had decided this tracklist based on their own personal taste, crossed with anything with no licensing issues. Cheap and cheerful, so they say. Really on the fence about purchasing the numbered volumes at this moment in time. I don't really enjoy the new releases, and have been enjoying the Yearbooks far more. It also feels like they're holding back so that they actually have something for the summer release.

There's no reason to. Now 16 and Now 94 had no number 1s on them and for the most part, they were quite solid albums. I remember Now 94 very well, as Drake had been dominating the top spot for weeks on end with 'One Dance', and that ended up on Now 95 anyway. So considering the lack of a No.1 on Now 94, it was a pretty strong album on the whole. No excuses for Now here, the only thing I can think of is the quantity of material they can put on there. With how slow the charts are at the moment (current No.1 is already on Now 122) they're probably allowing extra time to ensure the next release isn't all filler, and may have some killer.

They stopped releasing numbered Nows in 2024 after Now 90 in the US. I wouldn't say it's unreasonable for them to knock it down to 2 volumes a year here.

"Based" question but, with how slow the charts have become, how long the songs are staying on the chart, and how so many artists are refusing to have their tracks feature on the numbered volumes, do you think NOW may even cut down to two volumes a year? NOW That's What I Call Winding Down!

Rest assured we'll likely see David Sylvian on at least one of these Vaults!

Highlights for me are as follows: Swing Out Sister - You On My Mind Bruce Springsteen - Born In The USA Gloria Estefan - Get On Your Feet Labi Siffre - (Something Inside) So Strong I'll be honest here, the ones that haven't been on numbered NOWs in the 80s I'm not really too familiar with (sans the above) but I'll give them a go. Gutted that there's no Star Trekkin' (The Firm), Jack Your Body (Steve "Silk" Hurley), Midnight Radio (Taffy), Don't Know Much (Linda Ronstadt/Aaron Neville) and Lambada (Kaoma).

I've taken a wide berth of the Eras albums because of how many tracks feature on the Yearbooks. The Yearbooks are more my thing, so will be taking a pass on this release.

Bit rude of the member of staff to judge an individual purchasing an album from their own shop. The staff should be encouraging the purchase, not discouraging it, haha! Sales a sale at the end of the day! But yeah, I can see it being another charity shop item for £1.

Fantastic tracklist! Several highlights are here for me, they are: Gerry & The Pacemakers - I Like It and You'll Never Walk Alone Brian Poole & The Tremeloes - Twist and Shout and Do You Love Me? The Searchers - Sweets For My Sweet Stan Getz - The Girl From Ipanema The Surfaris - Wipe Out The Kinks - You Really Got Me and All Day and All Of The Night Manfred Mann - 5-4-3-2-1 and Do Wah Diddy Diddy Honestly, on the whole, I have to admit this is a strong tracklist. No Beatles is to be expected due their record label. Even if you're not keen on this era, there are some really timeless classics here.

On A Ragga Tip is an absolute banger. Reminds me of my car trips to Towyn when I was a little lad. My old man would always play it on his mixtape in the car up there!

Don't know the full tracklisting yet, but based on what's in this trailer, I'm adding this one to my collection. I really enjoyed Volume 1, and the fact that this is split over 2 years rather than 3 means we get a little more from each year. Looking forward to this one!
