They should just say that an act can’t have any charting single or album. Make it completely for newbies. What did they expect the reaction to be, what a joke!
  2. In a parallel universe, the UK would have won Eurovision 2008 with “Sun Goes Down” - it would have been perfect.

Think I’ve made all necessary corrections now.
  4. I wonder if we’ll get a statement from the OCC as and when Mr Brightside passes 6m.
  5. Denise LaSalle - Don’t Mess with My Toot Toot

  11. If Heart and I from Robbie’s Greatest Hits was released as a single it would have scored very high points from me indeed. In fact, if there’s ever a Robbie rate that would be near the top for me.
  12. Peter Sarstedt - Frozen Orange Juice! Edit: Didn’t read the OP!
  13. There are much worse charity singles than Grenfell tbh.

Updated with all the figures I could find from 1980 to date. Any errors, let me know. As far as I can make out, there have been 96 different #1s that have “sold” less than 40,000 in a week - I’m sure we’ll get to 100 very soon.
  15. Best Al Green - Let’s Stay Together Carly Simon - You’re So Vain Neil Young - Heart of Gold Rod Stewart - Maggie May Roberta Flack - The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face Worst Mac Davis - Baby Don’t Get Hooked on Me Donny Osmond - Go Away Little Girl Three Dog Night - Black and White
  16. If streaming had been included in the charts at the first possible opportunity (Pandora in 2005 was the first legal service I think.), would it have affected any number #1s?
  17. Oh Nik Kershaw / Howard Jones are the same person anyway. Now I’m throwing Nick Heyward into the mix haha
  18. I do indeed, who’s Nik Kershaw? 😆
  19. Nik Kershaw was such a snack!
