Were Girls Aloud a great pop group or a good pop group with great production?

I didn’t vote for either, but I’d like Spice Girls to beat Girls Aloud, purely for the massive cultural impact they had.

So we’ve got two turn of the century British girl groups and a heritage mixed gender European act left? Is that right?

I’m going to extend the deadline until next Tuesday at 23:59 anyway, as I’m away this weekend.

Look, I’m not a huge fan of Steps etc, but tbh I think variety is the spice of life (no spoilers intended) and it’s low level misogynistic to have a go at “female-led” groups as being invalid for whatever reason. Pop isn’t my thing as much as other genres, but it definitely has a central and important place in the rich tapestry of the charts!

Not sure they’ve made the top ten in terms of total number of user voters - 1-5th 25+ voters 6th - Queen, Pet Shop Boys - 24 voters 8th - The Killers, The Saturdays, 23 voters 10th The Beatles - 22 voters 11th - Coldplay, Steps - 21 voters 13th - All Saints - 20 vpters I think that’s all the groups with over 20 voters - interesting that no one has a majority (27) of voter support - yet!

Queen, at least up to The Game, were also a fantastic albums band. Some amazing deep cuts there. Sadly, I just think they’re remembered for their Greatest Hits (and Greatest Hits II haha).
