BJSC 189 - Levante Well, we finally beat our best ever performance in BJSC 188 - it only took 20+ contests to finish higher than 15th and almost break the top 10 with Cibo Matto (a moments silence for The Vaccines, who no longer hold our peak) It’s become evident to us that pure pop just doesn’t get us great results, leaving us on the cusp of qualifying every time…. So why not stay with one foot in the alt-door?! Our 189 entry comes from Italian singer Levante, with an alt-lite slice of dance pop that stays true to the Herbilore brand (our people at first didn’t know how to respond to Sono Blu but can now be found raving to it in a random warehouse near you….) I didn’t realise it was only European artists until the last minute and had to rethink my choices! Still sad for Dido. A little sad for M83 although I preferred earlier rounds. I’m a little amazed that it wasn’t Gary vs Damien in the bottom for the male artists - although both got a lot of top scores
