I am still at 23 songs in my list! Another 2 listens at least and I should have a final 15....

I have no idea but I can see a pop song winning this one - there's quite a lot of pop entries in the final and a couple of them may sweep up votes from the pop-centric voters

For the Here & Now musical, it was nice to see a good mix of old and new Steps songs. There is definitely an audience there for the newer material

The 2011 Steps reunion was definitely a reality TV moment. It showed how well a reunion show like that can be done and the table scenes were epic

Steps & Take That have had the success and longevity with their return. They've also had a subsequent musical based on their music (I am hoping for a movie version of Here & Now, as Greatest Days is an awesome movie) The majority of Steps' singles since reforming would have been top 5 hits back in the day (in my opinion)

Mine was a local band called ShineMK - a religious based girl group who were local to my hometown. They appeared on Songs of Praise before disbanding. I used one of their cheesy pop songs for a competition on here last year!

I will take 11th out of 24 in a competition that is based on one of my least fave genres of music! Thanks to those who voted for me and congrats to the winner Great hosting Kath :)

Ooooh I've been revealed now. Thanks to all who voted for my song. I know it's more of an obvious choice but I really enjoyed it Although this may be the second comp where I've had an early lead and just plummeted after!

I'm partially here as watching a movie inspired by one of the best female artists of all time (Celine Dion). I liked this competition as it took me out of my comfort zone :)

As Nemo's win sees the return of Eurovision to Switzerland, surely the organisers will not resist the temptation to include their previous winner, Celine Dion, in some form or another. What do you think this will look like? Another Nemo homage to Celine? An actual performance from the woman herself? A cover of her winning song? Or a medley of Celine hits perhaps? Discuss!

100% agree to the last bit. It made my heart fuller when someone gave max points to my 1st ever entry (Ciaran Lavery). He was someone I'd listened to for years and is also the smallest gig I've ever been to (he played to like 4 people, which included me and my friend). For the most part I have sent artists/songs I like, rather than trying to get a qualifier. Even with my Salt Ashes entry, I loved the song and just saw it as a bonus that it would give me a better chance of qualifying, but alas it was not to be!

Hey! I've been in this position before and probably still am a lot of the time (9 NQ's out of 11 kind of does that to you!) I agree that it does seem that bizarre/niche songs get through whilst songs that would have a greater chance of succeeding outside of BJSC (i.e. with the general public or even on the BJ Multi-chart) do not qualify. It sucks and it really dented my confidence a few times. It took me a while to get over one of these results in particular (I'm still low key annoyed that a song of mine scored votes from 9 people, whilst another song got high votes from less people and qualified over me.....). I thought about leaving and not coming back (even posted saying this) but then decided I could help with the pop bloc, even if my own song didn't qualify. Plus I've found some great songs I wouldn't otherwise have heard. It is always about how you feel & I hope you continue, but at the same time it is what is best for you.
