  1. Yes can see Clean Bandit going 4-3-2-1 , Harry Styles not promoting much until Graham Norton a week on Friday so will be a stretch to stay on Top. Still think he will make to Number 1 overall this week.
  2. The cliche of declaring a song a flop on day of release - shortly to be followed by declaring it a joke! The irony of saying a song sounds like Oasis when Oasis were accused of being influenced by The Beatles.
  3. New York Post are reporting today it should be out in May.
  4. Despite Article in "Leicester Mercury" last week saying they were going head-to-head against Gorillaz I see Kasabian have moved their album back a week.
  5. One for the oldies, Laurie Anderson's 'O Superman' came in at 8:21, I was convinced it got to number 1 but in fact it stalled at number 2.
  6. Apparently releasing in just a few weeks, wouldn't have thought will be as popular as Harry Styles but I can see these Solo songs clogging up the Charts for a while yet, we are going to be hoping for a 1D reunion at some point just to keep the number of Releases down :)
  7. I'm sure "Perfect" will get a Release as a Single with a soppy video! Also suspect he may adopt similar tactic as per "Bloodstream" ie release a track with a guest.

Sgt Pepper is coming up to it's 50th birthday and has been in News due to a potential Re-release ( again? ) As reported over the weekend the Beatles appear to be planning to put out an expanded edition of Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band on June 1, the 50th anniversary of its original release. While the news has yet to be made official, we’ve learned that Ringo Starr has heard it and is thrilled with the sound :)
  9. I think they just announced that Winner's Single will be available after Show tonight.
  10. Yes, he walked off during the Interview saying he wasn't feeling well, bizarre bit of TV.
  11. Don't worry, he is feeling better now, Performance back on.
  12. Take That on "The One Show" but end of show Performance in jeopardy as Gary Barlow has walked off ill - will be interesting to see whether they can cut it as a two piece.
  13. Sounds like Capital Punishment  Hoping with the latest boost it can stay Top 40 overall this week and continue to rise next week. Here's a bit of advice for the boss of Capital, how about playing a new release song instead of those you are still playing that were released last year (and in some cases the year before) !
  14. I was hoping that Drake was going to break Stormzy's recent record for most songs by one Artist to leave Top 40 in one week - maybe not then.
  15. Looking more like a spoof this year - I guess the clue was Ed Sheeran teaming up with People Just Do Nothing...

Yes, Take That still only at 3, doesn't look good for them overall although they will be strong with physical sales.
  17. For all the negative comments about the Drake takeover what is undeniable is he is an incredibly prolific Artist (more than Prince in his heyday). I would agree there may be a case for a bit more quality control but the amount of songs he releases is impressive. If he keeps releasing at same rate I can see Drake breaking records for number of songs to chart (overall).

As the thread is about Singles comebacks I guess one of the most impressive was Pink Floyd in 1979 with "Another Brick In The Wall (Part II)", got to number 1 after about 12 years of not releasing Singles!
  19. Believer by Imagine Dragons back on the rise after being used in BBC advert tonight, hope there is some (chart) life left in it.
  20. Yes, it wasn't the best advert for them as people was it? Great TV though.
  21. Hope a third Series of "Steps The Big Reunion" has been commissioned by ITV. May be that was considered a step too far (like that pun).
  22. Actually found an Article in the Independent (Ireland) revealing the identity of "Galway Girl", the fiddle player in the aforementioned Irish folk band Beoga, Niamh Dunne. So not only does she have the Writing credit but the song is partially about her. She does, however, doubt this inspiration as she is from Limerick !
  23. Ah thanks, now noticed 5 of the Writers are in Irish Folk Music Group Beoga, nice little earner for them!
  24. One of the surprising things about "Galway Girl" for me is there are 9 writers on the Credits for a 2:50 track! Was it just a case of everyone in the Studio at the time of Recording got a credit...
  25. Yes, It was one of those Live favorites that was very well known. On reflection though I may be a bit optimistic thinking it would have got in the Top 10 at that time given The Smiths only had 3 Top 10 Singles in their entire career and their highest charting Single got to number 8.
