  1. "Hope There's Someone" by Antony and the Johnsons was actually performed by one of Ricky Wilson's team (Voice) but Boy George performed on their Debut Album, guess he used his influence to put this song up for selection.
  2. I guess there is still a possibility of an Official Video and a boost from that ?
  3. Really doubt Rihanna will be number 1 next week, the performance was mediocre IMO and the percentage rises have been steady but nothing spectacular. Lukas Graham will be number 1 overall next week.

No major controversial moments this year but it was a vintage year for Performances by A-listers. Will be remembered for the Bowie Tribute and Adele's four Awards

Performance of the night by a country mile! Fantastic, tasteful tribute, great stuff, well done Lorde!

Mediocre performance from Rihanna at best

Are we sure that was Rihanna? Lighting didn't show her face clearly until the end.

Thanks for that insightful comment, worthwhile in the comfort of your own home but not sure it adds to the Brits discussion
  10. She turned up for Grammys as well, just didn't Perform (she was well enough for dress rehearsal though). Don't worry, she has found time to celebrate her Birthday despite cancelling several performances recently.
  11. It is considering Anti peaked at a disappointing 7 and is heading out of the Top 10 at an alarming rate. Only a decent Brits performance can reverse the decline (let's hope she is not ill as per Grammys)
  12. New All Saints single on Tuesday, guess we are not expecting too much impression on iTunes chart given it's not received a mention correction - single is released next Friday 26th
  13. New Drake Album "U Know It's Real" listed as an Amazon pre-order for this Friday (19th Feb). Not sure whether this is a full Album release but Drake seems to be competing with Prince on a couple of levels (prolific output and now Album title names - U know what I mean)
  14. Adele performed "All I Ask" surprisingly, must be saving "When We Were Young" for the Brits.
  15. Bowie's fans had hundreds of songs to choose from to be fair and numerous compilations which contained his most popular songs. The success of the compilations since his death has been a truer tribute to his Legend status.
  16. T.L.O.P, The Life Of Picasso Or maybe was named after The Lord Of Publicity. After the comments about Bill Cosby, Taylor Swift and changing Album titles I'm sure there will be a constant stream of headlines over the next week
  17. One long-running climb to number 1 that has been overlooked was Lionel Richie and the Commodores "The Definitive Collection". Released at the beginning of February 2003 it took more than 12 years to get to number 1 after Lionel's Triumphant Glasto Performance last year. Curiously it was reported as Lionel's first number 1 Album for 23 years but didn't seem to be reported as the Slowest Climb to Number 1 at the time. Anyway "Best Of Bowie" took longer than Lionel's compilation to get to Number 1.
  18. Sorry for answering my own question but looks like it will just be "Waves", nothing Tidal about it...
  19. It's a Tidal Wave of Big Artists failing to chart as high as they should :) Kanye West next week?
  20. Two MJ Albums hit number 1 in 2009: "Number Ones" had been number 1 on release in 2003. "The Essential Michael Jackson" peaked initially at number 2 on release in 2005. Neither would beat David Bowie.
  21. It certainly looks that way but it wasn't Reported last week in the report by Alan Jones or by OCC which makes me wonder whether another Album took longer.
  22. Not counting Albums that were previously number 1 and climbed back there on Re-release. EG "Exile on Main Street" - Rolling Stones The re-released album in 2010 entered at number one in the UK charts, almost 38 years to the week after it first occupied that position.
  23. "Best Of Bowie" by David Bowie Released on 22nd October 2002 finally got to number 1 on Friday (5/2) taking 13 years, 3 months and 14 days from Release to number 1. Found this from a few years ago Slowest Climb To Number 1 David Gray's "White Ladder" had been in the Top 40 for 64 weeks before finally reaching Number 1 in 2001. In terms of time taken to get to Number 1 having appeared in the Top 40, the record goes to "The Very Best Of Sting And The Police." This album entered the Top 40 in Nov 1997. It fell from the chart returning more than four years later (Mar 2002) when it made no. 1; (223 weeks). Anything else in the meantime that took longer than either Sting And The Police or David Bowie in the Slowest Climb to Number 1 (Album) ?
  24. So Coldplay didn't perform "Hymn for The Weekend" at the Superbowl 50 half-time show afterall, I guess they are saving that one back for the BRITS performance. I suppose we can expect some increases from "Viva La Vida", "Paradise", "Adventure of a Lifetime", "Uptown Funk" (Bruno Mars), "Formation" (Beyoncé), "Clocks", "Fix You" / "Up&Up" (feat. Bruno Mars & Beyoncé)
  25. Hymn should get a big boost tonight when they perform it at SUPERBOWL with Beyoncé. Ok it is not massive in UK but will spread on social media. All ready heard a recording of Chris Martin on Capital this morning talking about how special they need to make show.
