Good week for the Michael's, Michael Bolton, Michael Buble & Michael Jackson in the Top 40 as well as George Michael. I'll avoid the obvious comment 😀

Friday Chart Predictions
Little Mix will end their residency of the Top 3 Albums this week after 12 weeks there. Possibility they will return next week though after a Brits Performance boost. Surprised to see Thunder at 2 so far but suspect Elbow will overtake them.

Friday Chart Predictions
Versatile man that Rag 'N' Bone Man, didn't realise he was the same guy that appeared on the Bastille EP in 2014 in his hip hop days.

Friday Chart Predictions
Very impressive sales for Rag 'N' Bone Man, it is clear he is set for huge success, wonder whether he will be able to hold on at the top next week as well (it is Brits week but he should get a boost from that).

Most well-known songs that have never been #1
I would argue that Queen have three songs more well known than "Don't Stop Me Know" that peaked at number 2, "We Are The Champions", "We Will Rock You", "Radio Gaga". EDIT - In fairness to BillyH he did mention those songs as well 😀

Friday Chart Predictions
In fairness to Ed and his music it does stand up well to repeated listening. As some of the songs from the last Album are still in the lower reaches of the chart clearly a lot of fans are still streaming the songs nearly 3 years on, I suggest we set our expectation this will continue with the songs from this Album.

Spotify Monthly Chart Thread [02/17]
Very underwhelming performance so far for a lead single from Katy Perry given her track record of lead number 1's from first 3 Albums! Will still continue to climb but not shaping up to match previous successes.

Friday Chart Predictions
Great Sales for Elbow's Album so far, can't help feeling that the appearance on "The Graham Norton show" has lifted Sales so far, their performance of "Magnificent (She Says)" was sublime!

iTunes Album Chart ~ 2017
Yes, you are right although I suppose technically The La La Land Album is a Motion Picture Cast Recording even though it is listed as Various Artists. Looking forward to them all being Elbow-ed down the chart tomorrow...

Friday Chart Predictions
Pleasing to see La La Land heading for a 99-3-2-1 chart run - based on 6.7k sales so far may just about get to 15k for the week...

iTunes Album Chart ~ 2017
Top 5 now all from Various Artists (including music from both Trainspotting films), Pete Tong the highest Artist album at 6. Looks like he will be on course for a second week at the top overall.
-
iTunes Album Chart ~ 2017
Top 4 on iTunes Albums all from Various Artists (and 7 out of Top 10), showing what a strong start to the year for.....Movies!

Friday Chart Predictions
How many times has he pushed this Album back? At least twice now I think, it doesn't bode well for a number 1 now.
-
Friday Chart Predictions
Pete Tong's Album currently unavailable on CD on Amazon now (and behind LLL on iTunes), looking good for La La Land now.
-
Friday Chart Predictions
Actually looking at Sales figures for yesterday for La La Land (OST) and Pete Tong it could even be close for the top spot!
-
Friday Chart Predictions
Just the 14 Oscar Nominations for La La Land then, should give the soundtrack another boost - number 2 looks guaranteed this week but hopefully it can continue its upward trajectory next week!
-
Friday Chart Predictions
It is slightly odd that after 3 days of Sales Pete Tong has exceeded his Sales of the previous week - shows what can happen with a combination of a little bit of Promotion and a price reduction!

Friday Chart Predictions
Mike Oldfield should be quite high as he will be front-loaded.

Friday Chart Predictions
Pete Tong was behind The La La Land OST on iTunes and Amazon on Friday until he appeared on "The One Show" in the evening. That boost is starting to diminish on iTunes but he is still top of the Best Sellers on Amazon (not surprised with the Pete Tong CD at £4.99). I wonder whether The La La Land OST will go 3->2->1 although next week there will be competition from Tinie Tempah.
