  1. But half of their weekly sales are from streams

Album streams should have a cap

    Why count forever?

You spend 30 pounds on a vinyl counts once

But streams count forever and ever

Totally agree and the first line from Music Week is misleading (Can one million Greatest Showman fans be wrong?), one million sales does not equate to one million people consuming the Music.

  2. 81. Jason Derulo- Colors

    111. Baddiel, Skinner & The Lightning Seeds- Three Lions

    112. New Order- World In Motion

    198. Fat Les- Vindaloo

    208. Nicky Jam ft Will Smith & Era Istrefi- Live It Up

    227. Shakira ft Freshlyground- Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)

No sign of 'Hey Duggee - The World Cup Kick Song' yet then ? Watch it explode when England scramble a 1-0 win against Tunisia next Monday.

Also what price 'Party Like A Russian' from Robbie Williams making some progress on Thursday after his appearance in the Opening Ceremony?

Both unlikely to happen in reality!

  3. Clean Bandit and Jess Glynne are very close on Spotify but Jess is quite a way ahead on iTunes, so I think her good download sales will give her the #1.

Unless Clean Demi reduces to 59p next week - both Jess Glynne and Clean Demi will also have the advantage of Summertime Ball appearances.

  4. Surprised more haven't gone for Clean Bandit (may be the incorrect feature in the vote has put people off), they have now overtaken Jess Glynne on streaming although I think it will be close next week.
  5. Jessie J seems to have split her Album (R.O.S.E.) up into four parts - first EP (Realisations) is out today, currently at #12.

As the EPs will not be eligible for the Album chart it is a Release Strategy that will dent any hope of a decent chart position for the consolidated release...

  6. wow totally unexpected, even better than post malone ;) pity the album is so bad, I doubt many people can stomach for instance listening to the opening track multiple times without falling in a coma

Totally expected in my opinion , five years after AM there was clearly going to be massive demand.

I think it is extremely harsh to describe it as 'so bad', I think four out of five sums it up...they have avoided going for the massive singles this time but that doesn't make it a bad Album.

  7. Previous Studio Album from the Manics opened in July 2014 with Sales of about 20k, suspect similar Sales will secure a #2 placing this week (same as "Futurology") behind "The Greatest Showman" which should easily get to the top again.
  8. I wonder how well Donel would have done had he won?

We will never know of course but the breakdown of the 1st vote in the Final (with all four finalists still in) suggests similar popularity (Donel 29.58% and Ruti 29.41%).

Interestingly Ruti won the final vote (with just final two) fairly comfortably (Ruti 58.3 and Donel 41.66%) and I think her Winner's song was more suited to success than his.
