The Weeknd's last Album opened with nearly 35k in September 2015, should be able to make 50k as it is a Q4 release. Hoping Kate Bush can do 50K next week as well.

Hadji, You are suggesting that Little Mix could sell more than 146,168 this week. Not going to happen. They will be lucky to be within 50k of that total.

I tend to agree with you looking at that Album cover... Only thing is so far this year we have had "25", "50" and this week "24 HRS" at the top of the Album chart "24K Magic" would seem an appropriate title to join that list as a chart topper..

Looking at Little Mix and Bruno Mars recent Albums first week Sales it should be close 60,053 Get Weird 2015 136,391 Unorthodox Jukebox 2012

Well last Studio Album ("Death Magnetic") opened with 75,164 back in September 2008. Not sure about previous Album before that in 2003 but may be a little irrelevant now as more than 13 years ago. It may be a situation where due to the lack of new Material for 8 years there is a lot of pent-up demand. Album Sales for Artists of their era and genre have held up better than newer Artists as well. Should be on course for 50k+ surely?

Maybe but "Shout Out To My Ex" doesn't sound like a Single that will generate many new fans (although admittedly existing fans seem quite happy with it). Based on the poll for next week's Album chart a lot think they will beat Bruno Mars to the top, certainly looking that way at the moment which would be a real result for them.

Olly still out-selling Emeli in the Album chart but surprisingly the biggest seller yesterday was Michael Ball & Alfie Boe. The accompanying tour is no doubt helping, suspect they will stay in Top 10 all the way to Christmas.

Good luck to Cliff on his return but first track on the Album seems a bit of a cash-in - a duet with Elvis Presley! There was even a facebook campaign for this track to happen "Let Cliff record with Elvis" by the looks of it, got 1032 likes. Smacks a little bit of riding on the wave of Elvis' recent re-recording success...looks like it is working and he will probably usurp Elvis from number 3.

If Adele manages some Promotion in December she could probably secure the Christmas Number 1 Album (given the Sales under-performance of recent comebacks). "25" is back on the climb all ready (up to 26) probably on the back of people starting to buy Christmas presents. Tour seems to end on November 21st (a rearranged date that was postponed due to illness - take note Tove Lo, that's how you treat your fans) and December looks clear - BBC Music Awards in December looks a guaranteed (even though she is not yet confirmed for event).

Ok but something is not quite adding up then because it was reported yesterday that gap was 7k approx and now today gap is 6.4k approx. A little hard to explain if Olly sold more yesterday (unless the previous totals from the Daily Star were very approximate).

Listening to Capital in the car this morning for 15 minutes heard Apple Music Advert twice with Emeli Sande advertising her Album as well as an "Exclusive" Live EP (4 tracks from the Album recorded Live from London Bridge). If this is being played throughout the week she should maintain steady Sales.

Surprised to see Olly leading by 7k, looks like we have another hard to call week in the Album chart but based on that lead Olly might just do it. In fairness to him he is someone who gets out and works hard with his Promotion (and this may just make the difference). Not sure why we need to wait until December 23rd for some interest, there is plenty going on between now and then.

Seems to be a plethora of Album Releases this week from Artists that Acted in Films in the last century, Sting, Cliff Richard, Olivia Newton John, Frankie Valli & David Bowie. Also to complete film theme an Ennio Morricone compilation...
