iTunes Album Chart ~ 2017
Yes, a decent 32k and sales will probably be enough for a place in Top 100 of Y/E Sales (although last year #100 needed 71.5k, I suppose that will be less this year though).

iTunes Album Chart ~ 2017
Yes, I guess The National will be one of the lowest selling #1 Albums of the year (along with The Vamps, Queens Of The Stone Age and Shania Twain). Impact may have peaked but there are still a few Albums that have improved their Sales including in the Top 200: 13. U2 - Songs Of Experience (Deluxe Edition) 62. U2 - Songs Of Experience 78. U2 - U218 Singles (Deluxe Version) 98. U2 - The Joshua Tree 149. U2 - The Best of 1980-1990 196. U2 - U218 Singles

That is a massive boost , just needs some News coverage now.... Suspect it is not going to make much difference to its overall chart position though.

iTunes Album Chart ~ 2017
The Critics Faves (based on End Of Year Lists) ready to improve their position as we approach NYE and into New Year: 93. Lorde - Melodrama 163. LCD Soundsystem - American Dream 235. Kendrick Lamar - DAMN. 250. The War On Drugs - A Deeper Understanding 320. The National - Sleep Well Beast 336. SZA - Ctrl 466. St. Vincent - MASSEDUCATION Decent peaks for most of these but criminally under-performed in terms of sales. Oh - and couldn't even see Björk's Utopia in Top 1000, not sure how that one could be so overlooked given it was an improvement on her previous Album.

YTD T40 Albums (with estimated sales)
I now think he will do it, seems to be a lot of good Promo (adverts on TV, performance on Spoty etc) which has propelled Album back in Top 5 - should be enough to secure 50k Sales this week and next. Paloma has indeed exceeded expectations, Album has been very well received.

Sam Smith down at #15 in both iTunes and Amazon Album Charts, he clearly needs the Promo on "The Graham Norton Show" tonight but it won't be enough to overhaul Ed (and may be Eminem ?).

"A facebook campaign has amassed 30,000 supporters" - going to need a bit more momentum, possible though Last Christmas For Xmas Number 1

iTunes Weekly Thread W/C 15th December 2017
Just downloaded one of the versions from a Now Xmas Album, all ready had the Single version in my library given away from Google Play a couple of years ago for 19p - also had AIWFCIY from the same Promotion - I miss the 99p Album Promotion they used to have at this time of year as well.

Christmas No1 Album
Yes, Ed certainly looking favourite at this point. Looks like Buzzjack has underestimated him. Interesting looking at previous Christmas #1 Albums there has never been one that only had a single week at the top. Eminem could potentially change that but doubt it now, suspect he will debut at #3 behind Ed and Sam. Both have good promotion at the weekend (Ed on Strictly and Sam on The Graham Norton Show) on the back of some Sales momentum as well.

P!nk and Ball & Boe have a chance I would have thought?

iTunes Album Chart ~ 2017
P!nk seems to be the main winner after the weekend Promo although she was on BBC and ITV, she is currently at #3 (with 'Beautiful Trauma') behind the two Now Albums. Midge Ure's 'Orchestrated' seems to be holding up a lot better than expected, still at #11 is a surprise to me.

iTunes Album Chart ~ 2017
It is true that U2's Album is not holding up too great, out of Top 20 Amazon Best Sellers all ready and knocked off top spot on iTunes unsurprisingly by 'Now That's What I Call Christmas'. They may need some promo before the 17th...

Spotify Chart Thread [Q4 2017] | Eminem #1, Ed #2 combined
134. Sia - Santa's Coming For Us Does seem harder for newer Xmas songs to break through given the love for the Christmas classics - was hoping Sia, Tom Chaplin & Gwen Stefani would be higher.

 1 U2 - Songs of Experience (Deluxe Edition) [also #13 for Regular Edition] Looks like Bublé has received a December boost :  10 Michael Bublé - Christmas (Deluxe Special Edition) It is definitely going to make the Top #5 overall this year at some point. I find it surprising it is #10 on iTunes at £9.99 when you can get the CD (and digital copy as well) for £5 on Amazon.

iTunes Album Chart ~ 2017
U2's last conventionally released Studio Album (ie not the debacle with Songs Of Innocence) opened in February 2009 with Sales of 157,926 , I know it was a while ago but I will be surprised if they don't get at least half of that number , Sam Smith to stay at #2 for me but will undoubtedly get a big boost this week to push it above 50k.

80's classics that flopped in the UK
Some Europop in the original list, didn't always crossover in the UK in the Eighties. Personally preferred classic 80s Artists like Talk Talk who had near misses 'Such A Shame' (#49) and 'Living In Another World' (#48) and Lloyd Cole and the Commotions with 'Forest Fire' (#41).

Update from Mint Royale: Poor old Noel isn't selling as well as Liam. I would think he means Liam's first week Sales :)

iTunes Album Chart ~ 2017
Likely to be a few boosts this week for Albums reduced for Black Friday. Just got the CD of "Twelve Tales Of Christmas" from Tom Chaplin on Amazon for £4.99, it was only released last week so an absolute bargain. Sia's Christmas Album £7.99 so will hopefully stabilize in the Official Chart before rising in the run-in to Christmas.

10. Tears for Fears - Rule the World: The Greatest Hits Nice boost after Strictly appearance - I assume they performed 'Everybody Wants To Rule the World' given it is up to #54 on iTunes chart. Taylor's Album seems to be holding up well at #2, enough to stay top overall this week I wonder.

iTunes Album Chart ~ 2017
Yes, I agree - it does seem a bit odd though there is no Major International Release this week given it is surely one of the biggest Release weeks of the year (for Albums). Incidentally I am assuming Morrissey's Album is eligible for the Charts this week? There was a massive spike in Sales for the Album during the period when Amazon customers could pre-order to receive exclusive access to tickets for the UK tour before they went on general sale to the public. I guess this wouldn't affect eligibility but still Morrissey will struggle to push 25k Sales. Paloma's Album a little harder to call, seems to be slightly underperforming but 30k may be enough this week. If it can't make that total then likely to be a return to top for someone.
